The two spaces I re blogged had to do with their similarities in space. Because my space is my backyard and the other on I re blogged was titled my yard. Yards can have similar aspects but I believe that no two back yards are exactly the same, especially if they are two different people. Could be the same type of birds flying around, same type of animals, plants and trees, etc. I like these spaces because they have to do with outside and a person’s home, where they feel safest. Their happy place when it comes down to being somewhere alone to be free, open their mind up, or just sit relax and listen to the free air brushing through a backyard. Depending on location and other things, these spaces can be very different as well because of physical attributes like rocks and brush in landscape or types of species there. When in a space it can be very peaceful and quiet. Somewhat like the real wilderness or the world but just inside my little back yard in Chico CA.

Spacial observation response 2

Nature: the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations. All these aspects that define nature tie into both the spaces that I re blobbed for the listening in post. Both spaces have similarities in the species of animal, plant, and any other type of organism that lives in that habitat or space in nature. Many people are like me when they love nature and the outdoors. Everybody should love the outdoors. When one walks out into the space in nature and sits to listen in on the surrounding habitat it’s a great experience. The silence is something else, really. You can hear every little bird chirp, frog croak, water rushing, and even animals walking through the wilderness at times. As the wind brushes through the surrounding bushes, trees, and various grasses. The little things in nature pop out when listening in closely. Nature is a beautiful place on earth that should be enjoyed by all in however way they please. Different people enjoy doing different things outdoors, and some don’t enjoy the outdoors witch is unfortunate but true. Whatever way a person enjoys the outdoors it is all similar in some type of way because of the environment.

By The Creek

I spend a lot of time at the creek on campus. I find the flow of the water beneath the bridge to be very calming. It is nice to have a peaceful little escape between classes where I can just clear my thoughts, enjoy the liquid of the water flowing at its steady pace, and relax my mind enough to forget any problems I might be having. People are not very far from this spot, but their constant chatter seems to be covered by the sound of the creek flow. It is easy to get lost in the peace that seems to overwhelm me when I am here. There is nothing but beauty and solitude in this privately-public space. It is almost as if no one else exists and I am alone just listening to the serene sound of nature take me away.

Since the space that I have chosen is a communal space I am not only able to hear the sounds that nature gives off but also other people talking having a good time. As I hike towards this space I hear the talking and laughter of my friends’ right next to me. I noticed how each step we take our...

I re blogged Out in the sticks and another video without a name because they both where out in the wild in Chico. There are some similarities about the two videos. For example, both places had rock formations and water in them. Looking at one of the spaces in the video without a name, I do know where it is. The space is located out of Chico a little in Upper Bidwell Park at a water hole called Bear hole. I know this because I have traveled there with my friends and roommates. They are different because they are two different spots out in nature. I also re blogged these two videos because I really like the outdoors. I am out doing something whenever i have free time to do it. These two spaces are a kind of space that I wish I had chosen for all of my observation posts because then I would be able to go out into Bidwell and explore.

The video is of my back yard witch I have chosen for my space. I first begun thinking of doing a time lapse video but instead did a your of every spot in my back yard, starting on the upper deck, then on the big deck, and going further into the back yard along the fence and tree line of the yard.

Out in the Sticks

When I started the video I was onto the deck where my original picture or post began. If you listen to the video all you can hear is me walking and the wind. When first starting the video in front of me is the pond. To the right is an airstrip that you can barely see because of the sun as well as because the pond is to big to really see it unless you walk over there. I chose to not go over there because with rice season going on I wasn’t sure if a plane would actually land. I went to the left and to the left of the pond is a ditch where you can see water is being let into the pond. I tried to get a shotgun shell in the video but you can’t see it. The shells are from workers who shoot skeets over the pond. As I continue to walk to the left of the pond there is more water further left. That is a rice field that has been harvested and now is flooded. If you look straight in from me behind a big tree are the Sutter Buttes. It is hard to see them in the video but they are there. I chose to name this Out in the Sticks because literally nothing is around me about agriculture and nature.

I chose to take a video of myself and some friends walking to my space rather than of my actual space. I did this to show what one might have to go through to get to my space. While walking to my space as you can see there are so many rocks you have to jump over and climb. All the jumping and climbing is hard work for some people like me but it is fun. While walking you can hear the water flowing by, I did show some parts where you can look over and see the actual creek; I did this to show that walking to my space is not all rocks and trees. It may not look as nice but once at the actual spot of my space it’s a beautiful view. The couple that passed by were actually really nice people. As I said before my space is a good place to hang out with friends or just relax, you can meet people and have a good time. Right after I stopped recording we met more people and we all just hung out swimming and having a fun time altogether. 

P.S. I had to cut the video because the file was to large.

Home

In my space I feel safe, welcome, and home. That’s why I chose the word home as the word that best describes my space. From the beginning of class my space has been similar to the class and different. I feel that in most if the texts that go along with the class do have some point in them that ties to home. There is always some tie to home, or family. Knowing that this space will always be there and for the most part in the same condition. Nature and life may change these spaces slightly. In difference I believe that my space is different because it has nothing to do with the course. Art and Ideas: Ancient/Medieval isn’t really similar to the space that I chose. But at the same time home is always everywhere a person calls home whether it be ancient, medieval, modern, or futuristic. Home is where the heart is.

Story Board Response

I reclogged “The beginnings and Now” and “These are a Few of my Favorite Things” because they are very different from each other. One takes place outside in nature, looking off into the wilderness that is there. Showing different plaques and signs explaining what the space is and what is in the space that the visitor is looking at or in. The other set of pictures is totally different because it is taking place inside a store and not in the outdoors. The pictures are of different items that are inside the space. Including a few personal features from room pictures. Both sets of pictures have their own unique features. Personally I like the set of pictures that includes the outside wilderness because I love the outdoors. I am a very outdoorsy person. It is also similar to my posy, my space is also outdoors. The outdoors spaces are always one to look at and like. Both portraying how pretty nature can be. The one similarity that I can figure out from this picture that stands out is that both post are by girls.

Spatial Observation Response 3

I re-blogged two post that where similar in that fact that they were drawn bedroom maps. Both of these maps had every basic room layout. Including a bed, dresser, nightstand, chair, and closet. These spaces for the different people are similar in the fact that they feel safe in these rooms or space that they chose. Their little part of the world. A space where an individual can go to homework, sleep, etc. The maps are both aerial views from above. Like a bird’s eye view shot. Looking down from above the rooms differentiate with the setup of the beds, and nightstands on similar positions. The shapes of the different objects in the picture let the viewer know what each one is. Outlined in what the shape of the feature is. The walls and different features throughout each map are outlined in a sharp or bold outline to specify what each is. Maps like these simple drawn birds eye view maps are a good easy way for people to look at a map and find something very easily. The features are there in their exact spot. As people find a sense of safety in their space they have chosen there are also different similarities and differences. I like the simplicity of the maps and how they are direct and to the point of their observation space.

This is a map of the important things in my room.  It was drawn as if you were looking at my bedroom from the ceiling.  My room is not a large space, but it is just big enough for all of the things I need.The most important and biggest piece of furniture that takes up the most space is my bed, which is where I spend a lot of my time when I’m in my room.  All of the items I included in this drawing are things that I use every day.
