Fan Casting from an Alternate Universe

I sometimes imagine a world where Robocop was directed by David Cronenberg and starred Burt Reynolds.

Kurt and Harrison both were top choices for Han Solo. It would’ve been interesting to see a clean shaven R.J. MacReady hunt replicants in Neo Los Angeles.

David Bowie is such an unusual and tantalizing talent. Seeing him as Gozer may have taken you out of Ghostbusters a little and remind you that you were watching a movie. But it would have been worth it.

Joe Pesci as the Penguin. He’s got the look and the charisma. Devito nailed it, but still, a Batman movie universe where Pesci played Penguin and Hulk Hogan was Mr. Freeze, is a little too weird for this reality. Although, stranger things have happened.

I personally loved Anthony Michael Hall in Weird Science. Especially when he became an old black man. Just the same, seeing Marty McFly create a digital babe could have worked.

I feel like with Brendan Fraser starring as both Dudley Do-Right and George of the Jungle, casting him as Inspector Gadget should’ve been a no-brainer. I mean anything'a better than Matthew Broderick, right? Ooh! Brendan Fraser in Godzilla! I can imagine it now.

2/2/17 - Half Price Books - Tacoma, WA Here's what 75¢ will get you at Half Price Books. VHS of Super Mario Bros Super Show - Count Koopula + Vampire Until Ready, Koppebstein and Robokoopa A weird looking but cool sounding Clive Barker comic called Ecto Kid. My favorite thing about old comic books are the era-specific ads. This one includes a poster for Meteor Man and an ad for an X-Men themed Pizza Hut deal. -Dom

Finds of the day -- 1/24/17 Al's Music - Tacoma, WA Vinyl of The Color of Money soundtrack. My Dad is a pool shark with a love for Scorsese. Naturally, this movie was a staple in our home. He even had a cardboard standup of the movies poster next to our pool table. VHS copies of Bloodsport, Mannequin (which boasted THE best Jefferson Starship song, in my opinion), High School High and Richie Rich. -Dom
