The Entity certainly didn't mind the bubbly bunny. In fact, he found him adorable. A perfect little thing. Innocent and sweet. Was it just a cover or did he truly care deeply for the needs of others? After all, such levels of empathy weren't always caused by good intentions. Sometimes it was an act, sometimes it was for egoistical reasons. Whatever the other hid, it would be interesting to discover.
"As long as my guests are enjoying themselves, so am I," the Entity admitted, amused at being addressed as 'mister Bass'. That was certainly something new. And something he found enjoyable. "Have you arrived alone or in the company of someone? Well, not that it matters. This is your opportunity to converse with others. If that's something you find enjoyable. Have you managed to form relationships in the fog or do you find it difficult?"
Most have ulterior motives, to gain something from being kind to others but Jong-In? The ombre bunny of a man simply wanted to brighten and warm others' hearts as best as he can. A genuine pure soul that just wanted to be there for others, only performing for the sake of others, to see them smile another day. It is why he is often the first to die in trials as well, given he refuses to use pallets and ends up fretting over the killers as well.
"That is a good way of looking at things," Begins Jong-In's reply, skipping a beat before shaking his head softly. "I've come alone, I did run into Mister Ghost and... A few others, but I don't want to bother them or ruin their fun. So I've been staying to myself."
To form relationships in the fog? Jong-In isn't sure, he is kind to everyone, genuinely wanting to know what he can of them and their lives, but he doesn't know how far that goes. With Mister Ghost, as he calls him, that vulture-clad Ghostface is considered a friend. "I uhm... try to be friends with everyone. One of my friends is here though, he is a Ghostface, and he is dressed as a vulture I think. He has a very kind heart."
"I've been gooooood~♡" He drags out the word into a purr, trailing off into a small giggle at the end. "Working on songs of my own, mostly. But my Magnum Opus is far from complete.. I haven't yet found the right sound, the right vocalist for a supporting role... I'm starting to think that only NoSpin will do, or maybe just one person from it.... What do you think~♡?"
"I am glad you have been good," Comes a soft reply from the ombre rabbit, looking down at the ground for the time being. When the other mentions how he needs the right vocalist for a supporting role, Jong-In tilts his head curiously. He can record in the fog? That must be very nice, he does miss singing... Singing at the campfire to himself is nice, but it would be even nicer to sing with another.
"What do you need, I would love to help in whatever I can Ji-Woon, if it makes you happy."
ooc;; brushing off this blog to get to some replies. I know I focus a lot more on Michael, it's just Jong-In is so sugary sweet that I can only handle writing him here and there. I love him, just so much sugar XD
"...How do you get hair dye out here? You got some deal with the- whatever the fuck it is?"
[Before the Masquerade]
Jong-In tilts his head curiously as his eyes give a soft expression. Well, he hasn't dyed it actually in a long time, but it is curious... Why is his hair still a soft ombre of pink and blonde? Curiously lifting up a hand, he fiddles with a strand of it as he replies.
"I am not sure, actually... Uhm, I had my hair dyed before arriving here, if that helps."
Happy to have made something good, a bow of his head is given before he listens closely to what the Entity has to say. With the question, Jong-In straightens up his posture before speaking calmly with a hum of passion. "I've been capable of sewing for a while... I also can cook, among other things. If it helps make things easier for others or brings a smile to them, I try to learn what I can." It is a surprise his pastel colors as well as personality, normally, aren't deterring to the other. Then again, maybe this Entity did not mind bubbly bunnies, who is to say.
Offering a beaming smile then, Jong-In looks around thoughtfully as he speaks. "You have worked hard on making quite the party, and it shows. I hope you are having fun, Mister Bass, you deserve to enjoy yourself."
The mention of the nickname Jong-In had given him was a slight surprise but it settled into a chuckle, realizing he most likely played his hand a little too soon and gave away too much. But at least now he didn't have to worry about keeping up the facade. Danny's hand reached out to gently grasp his, giving a reassuring squeeze and tilting his own mask up a little to show more of his face. "Guess I'm not good at hiding in the spotlight like I'm used to, sweetheart."
The mask was fixed back in place and he took a more comfortable spot next to him and took notice of the subtle tells that something was up. Namely the fact he had to force a smile like this. Not good. "It is a bit overwhelming, but there are some quiet rooms available if you really need the space away from everything. I can even join you if you want to talk about anything on your mind away from prying eyes."
For as much as the quiet rooms were notorious for the activity inside them, he didn't sound overtly flirty or spoke with dubious intentions. It was an odd bit of selflessness from him. "But we can also just sit here for a little bit and relax. Your call, cottontail. And for the record, you look stunning." He pulled up the other's hand and pressed a soft kiss to the back of it, feather light.
Looking down at the hand, his heart flips and his stomach twists with a surge of butterflies before he clears his throat and chuckles lightly. "I think you're good at being in the spotlight... You shine in it, like a personal dance." Gently squeezing his hand back, Jong-In's gaze flutters towards the quiet rooms before sighing out softly. "... You're sweet, you always are. I don't want to burden anyone, it's a party, and people should enjoy that, not worry over something like this." When he goes to pull his hand away, it's greeted instead with a kiss, and his face turns red as a cherry.
"Ah... Uhm..." The compliments, the nickname, and the gentleness coax him to eventually sigh and lean his head back as he looks up towards the ceiling. "But.. I suppose, if you're asking, you aren't bothered by that... What happened with Ji-Woon is still on my mind. He's right... I should have stayed dead." There is a glimmer of sorrow in his soft eyes then as he smiles still. "I remember dying now, I burned alive... when I bumped into him, I think I stressed him out too much by merely existing... and... he snapped, then hugged me and wished I had remained dead... If I cause that much stress for someone that I wanted to just support and be friends with... Maybe he's right... I try to hold everything in, it's what you're supposed to do, but I'm struggling..."
With a frown replacing the smile, he finally looks over to Danny, before his gaze goes to the ground. "Sorry for speaking on it, I know you asked but... Like I said, it is a party, you should be having fun."
The Bastard was quick to notice the issues his kind was causing during the event. And he didn't feel like sending all of the Entities to their homes, to have all of the prey to himself. Perhaps it was time to stop being greedy, and feed his precious guests something more than mere scraps of energy.
"I see the rules must be amended," he informed. "They shall remain in place. However, a new rule must be added. From now on, those who lose their fight will be given as an offering. The Entity that owns the mortal who wins the fight will be allowed to consume the losing mortal. No Entity is allowed to hold grudges for having their mortal fed from. Those who have issues with the rule may speak to me personally."
A smile lifted the corners of his lips as he informed of the rule. "However, if the winning mortal prefers to offer the defeated rival to myself, they will be rewarded for their gracious gift. They will get one wish. The quality of the wish will depend on the mask the losing mortal wore. The rarer or stronger the animal their mask symbolises, the better quality of a gift they receive."
Allowing the guests to take that information in, the Entity sipped on his wine.
"There is one mask that will reward you with freedom. If you manage to defeat that particular guest, you will get the opportunity to be released from the realms."
"Oh, and before I forget. Any fight that started, occurred, or concluded in the restricted zones will not count towards the gift of a wish. The fights may only continue in the gardens and with no use of ranged weapons."
"Happy hunting <3"
Rule 4 in more details
Entity A owns Mortal A. Entity B owns Mortal B.
Mortal A and Mortal B fight in the gardens. Mortal A wins the fight. Entity A may feed from Mortal B, even though Mortal B does not belong to Entity A.
Entity B cannot fight or attack Entity A for them consuming the energy of Mortal B.
Mortal A may choose not to gift Mortal B to Entity A. Instead, Mortal A can gift Mortal B to the Bastard.
Mortals who lose the fight and are gifted to the Bastard will result in the winner receiving a single wish.
The quality of the wish depends on the animal the mask represents.
Animals such as rats, insects, squirrels will provide lower quality wishes - such as a small item.
Animals such as bears, tigers, lions will provide higher quality wishes - such as a realm or new powers (time limited if too extreme).
One mask will gift the mortal freedom. However, the Bastard has not specified what mask he's looking for.
Jong-In's positive and caring attitude may be sweet, but unfortunately for him it wasn't that infectious for the taller of the two. For as much as Danny had been nice to the other outside of trials, he was still irked by the sheer... Selflessness present. It felt fake but he knew it wasn't, and couldn't really process the truth of both of those realities at once. People had to be selfish, it was their nature. It had to be.
"I'll be fine, you don't have to worry about all that. I'm good at being able to adjust to things like this... You however seem a little out of it tonight. What's up?" There was only so much he could say without giving further inclination as to who he was, and if Jong-In refused to elaborate then he'd probably drop the act and be honest here.
He's familiar with his recent encounter with a Ji-Woon and figured it was still weighing on the other's shoulders, even if he didn't gleam full context. For as selfish as Danny presented himself as, and admittedly acted like overall, he also wanted to make the other feel a little better.
The fact the man asked, rings off a bell in his head as he looks up towards him and then away with a wary, sad smile. "Just trying to stay out of the spotlight, that's all." Jong-In wasn't selfish, perhaps that is his biggest flaw is the lack of self-preservation and sheer altruism he shows, or maybe it's his greatest strength. Only time can tell really. The smile vanishes for a brief moment before he gently pats his own cheeks and forces himself to buckle down on looking positive rather than down.
The smile returns, it still felt off but he was trying his best. "There's uhm, a lot here isn't there... Mister Ghost. Lots of food and guests, and fun I'm sure. Though... I guess that can be overwhelming. Too much of a good thing and what not."
There's so much he could say, he also isn't sure this is the same Ghost but something in his gut says that he is. Maybe it's the dramatic flair or maybe... It's the tone of his voice. It felt very familiar.
"How could I ever forget part of my own soul? We worked together, I'm not cruel enough to forget the times we had, do you really think that poorly of me?" He pouted, not really hurt, but seeking the flattering and apologies anyhow.
"Oh?? I do hope he's been treating you well..." The mention of the Ghost Face brought a slight note of anticipatory steel to his tone, both protective of Jong-In immediately, and slightly excited at the potential to have another excuse to chase that masked man down.
That, admittedly does make his face flush with a fresh shade of pink, before looking down with a small frown. "I've never thought poorly of you, I just did not realize it was you, you. I have met several other Ji-Woons that do not recognize me so-- It gets... confusing." Noting the steel in his tone, however, Jong-In quickly tries to mend the situation.
"He has, he has been a gentleman and very sweet. I really enjoy spending time with him, and he is a good cook too." He hopes that will be good, he does not want to cause Danny trouble... He'd rather not lose a friend for his own silly wording after all.
“I am. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual trials.” Ada took a sip of her own glass of water, smiling at the other. “So a rabbit, huh? Seems like a fitting choice.”
"It certainly is," Comes the reply, another sip of his own being taken as he matches her pace. At the notice of what he is supposed to be like, he smiles warmly finally.
"I love rabbits, and a lot of people seem to compare me to one, I've even been called a cottontail before... So it felt right. There are little paw prints on the bottom of my shoes even!"
"Oh goodness Sir. You look incredible! I really love your style!" Lillie bowed and smiled, playing with her pink dress as she approached the bunny masked one. She had seen him before but never talked to him.
The ears spring up straight on the mask as he is complimented, his expression one of surprise before he bows and places his hands together in an excited gesture. "Thank you so much, and you look very lovely as well." He's been a wallflower this entire time, so it does make sense that there wouldn't be much chatter. He really should try and be social a bit more.. But his heart doesn't feel up to it entirely.
Oh, how kind of her to offer. Politely taking the water from Miss Ada Wong, he bows as is tradition and respectful before he takes a sip. Normally, he would wait until the elder, or older individual drinks first, but... It's a party, some manners can slip here and there he supposed. As he drinks the water, he continues to smile, once more, happy for the mask in place. If he smiled enough, no one will notice anything and he can just enjoy the party and try to push everything down.
"Thank you kindly, Miss Wong. I hope you are enjoying the evening as well."
