"Yeobosaeyo?" CNU answered. You were silent, listening to his conversation.
"Umma? Appa? Annyeong!" he said. You listened to his happy voice as he chatted with his parents. You said a few happy greetings to them. You didn't know them very well, but they sounded awfully nice.
After a few minutes, he was about to hang up until his mother gave him one final request. His face froze and his joyful smile faded.
"B-b-bwo? A wife?" he asked. You choked on the water you were drinking. What about a wife?? CNU had a girlfriend, yet more, a fiancee??? You looked at him, raising your eyebrow and he simply shrugged.
"Umma!!!" he shouted, making you jump. "Umma, ya!!! Aish, she hung up." What the heck did his mother say to get him so worked up? He groaned and tossed his phone on the table.
"So..." you said. He scoffed and he started laughing. Different thoughts were going through your head...Aish, you were so confused.
"OH my gosh, Y/N, you won't believe this." he told you. you raised your eyebrow at him in interest.
"My parents are coming down to visit..." he started.
"So? What's so bad about the coming for a little vacation?" you asked him.
"They think that i'm married, and they want to meet my wife, BUT I DON'T HAVE ONE!!!!" he shouted. You looked at him, eyes wide with surprise. THen you started laughing.
"So I guess that means you're gonna have to finally find a wife then," you teased.
"YA! I'm only 23!" he whined and you laughed. He scrolled through all the female contacts in his phone for a few minutes to see if he could find someone to be his temporary wife. He found none, and he almost pulled out some of his hair. Then he looked out you and you had such a gut feeling that you knew what he was gonna ask you.
Dongwoo plopped down next to you and held your hand.
":So, Y/N, I don't want this to be awkward and you are my best friend of all, so do you think you could help me?" he asked you. Yup, you knew it. He was gonna ask you to be his temporary wife. "Could you be my pretened wife and meet my parents?"
"NO!" your protesed. "No, no, no, no, no. It's just really weird." you said.
He grabbed your hand and gave you his near to irresistable puppy eyes. You still shook your head, refusing to give in. You looked at him and you could the pure desperation in his eyes. Finally, you decided to give him chance. He was your best friend, and you were his. It was only right that you helped him when he really needed it.
"UGH, fine." you groaned, rolling your eyes. He smiled and gave you a big hug. "Y/N you're a life saver!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!"
You jokingly pushed him away and you playfully stuck your tongue out at him. You looked at him, and all of the sudden you couldn't stop. For some reason he looked so handsome and beautiful, and it made your heart race...NO! You slapped yourself. NO. CNU is just your best friend. He's was NOT your real husband or anything. Not at all.
A couple days later, you prepared for dinner with is parents. He told you you would be at a fancy restaurant, so you curled your hair and put it into and elegant bun. You put on some red lipstick and eye shadow to match your lips.
The doorbell rang and you met CNU outside. You laughed at how surprised he was looking at your outfit. In the dim light you could see him blushing.You too were amazed by his attire. He wore a simple tux, all black with a red bowtie. Once again you had that strange but wonderful feeling in your stomach.
He gulped and he laughed and he held out a rose to you. You looked at it, confused, but you took it anyway. "Umm...thanks?" you said.
He held out his arm for you to take.
"Oh god, don't call me that. It sounds so weird." you whined, and you walked to his car and drove to the restaurant.
You wowed to yourself admiring the elegance and splendor of the restaurant. You knew that this place probably costed a fortune to eat at. You walked with CNU to a table with a slightly elder man and woman. You could see the total resemblance between Dongwoo and his mother. They both warmly welcomed you into their family.
"Omo!" Dongwoo-ah, she's so beautiful!" his mother exclaimed as she gave a big cozy hug. You were surprised by her action but you laughed and hugged her back.
"So, how long have you guys been married?" his father asked. Both of your breaths hitched and you looked at each other frantically for an answer.
"A year," you lied. You could see CNU giving you a 'are you insane' look in the corner of your eye. You gave him your infamous smirk. Then, off the top of your head you told his parents the "story" of how you guys met and "how it all happened."
Soon, the night ended. You didn't want to get out of his mother's hug. You didn't have family and you mostly hung out with CNU and the B1A4 members, but his was different. You felt at home with these people. You wished that you were really his wife so that you could spend all the time possible with your new so-called family.
"Ya, Dongwoo-ah! You need to kiss her before we leave!" CNU's mother urged. You choked on your food and you heart sunk. OH. MY. GOD. CNU was caught off guard and he didn't know what to do.
Without thinking, you turned his face to yours and you kissed him sweetly. You felt him move his lips and your stomach clenched. This...this was a special moment. You weren't officially a couple, but this kiss was one of the best moments of you life. You pulled away and you gave him a little peck before smiling at his parents and continuing to eat.
"Aww, so cute! You are the best, absolutely perfect couple ever!" his mother cooed and you both laughed awkwardly. You gave her one final hug before they left.
"Bye! Make sure to give us some grandkids!" she shouted as they walked out the door.
The drive home was silent. You and CNU had never been this quiet before, but since that kiss, you didn't know what to say to him, nor he to you. As he pulled up to your house.
"Goodnight oppa!" you said to him as you walked to you door. As you got your keys to open the front door, you felt a hand grab your shoulder and turn you around. All of the sudden your lips met with CNU's. You were so shocked that you let out a little scream and your heart was beating to fast that it was going to burst out of your ches and run away.
Then somehow, you gave in. You stopped struggling and you closed your eyes and kissed him back. Your lips moved in sync and the taste of his lips were so sweet. You put your arms over his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around you.
After a good few minutes of making out, you finally pulled away. He looked at you, and you stared at him, waiting for an explanation. You giggled at your lipstick smeared on his chin.
"Y/N, for a while... I've been thinking..." he started and you just listened.
"I've begun to like you, like a lot. But now I am deeply in love with you. I love you." he confessed.
The words hit you like a boulder. Millions of thoughts ran through your head and you felt like you were going crazy. He liked you...and you liked him...Wait, no, he LOVED you. He tilted your chin up and gave you a chaste kiss. All you could do was smile and hold you close.
"Y/N," he said, pulling you into a warm hug.
"Yes?" you replied, looking up into his beautiful brown eyes.
"I was going to save this for later..." He pulled away and pulled a red box from his jacket. Inside was a beautiful diamond ring. Instantly your mouth went dry and you didn't know what to say. He was really asking you......the question.
"Will you...be my wife...for real?" he asked you. You felt instant tears coming and you started laughing. You jumped up and down and planted kisses all over his face.
"Yes! Hell yes! Yes yes yes yes!!!" you shouted as he hugged you tightly. You looked at him, tears running down your cheeks. He wiped them away and kissed your forehead.
"Aw, Y/N don't cry. I don't want my future Mrs. Shin to cry and become ugly."
"YA!" your voice cracked. Tears continued to fall down as he held you in his arms. There was nothing else that you could think about except for the warmth of his touch and the smooth sound of his breathing. You found comfort in listening to the strong steady beat of his heart, the one that would become one with yours.
