Ben Reilly is Peter Parkerâs younger cousin by about 4 years sent to live with him and his Uncle Richard and Aunt Mary after parents Ben Parker and May Reilly die in a car wreck. On a School trip to the Beyond Corporation Ben is bitten by a genetically engineered spider created by Dr Miles Warren.
After Benâs powers manifest the following day he tries to find out where they came from and get rid of them resulting in his Aunt Mary being killed in a shootout by a thug he let go. After Maryâs death Ben vows to make every thug in NYC pay as well as find out who created the spider that gave him his powers becoming the vigilante Spider-Man to do so and learning with Great Power Comes Great Responsibility along the way unaware that Miles Warren is on his tail

Sent to Live with His Uncle and Aunt Dr Richard Parker, Detective Mary Parker and cousin Peter Parker at age 4 after his parents died in an accident.
He grew up feeling inadequate to his big cousin due to how smart and well put together he was (though he couldnât have been further from the truth on that front) his cousin vowed to protect him the first night he came into their home (ironic given Ben ended being the one doing the protecting)
At age 5 he met his best friend and closest confidant aside from his cousin, Gwen Stacy.
At age 6 he meets his cousinâs friends Ned Leeds and Harry Osborn.
At age 7 Richard Parker died in a lab accident instilling a fear of losing the people he loves and trying to keep them as close to him as he possibly can. (As well as a dislike of science and labs)
At age 8 he sees The Ultimates in action and finds their methods questionable.
At age 9 he met fellow close friends Randy Robertson and Betty Brant.
At age 10 he meets and develops a crush on his cousinâs girlfriend Mary Jane Watson.
At age 11 a mutant (Kitty Pryde) awakens her powers at school he stands up for her as he doesnât understand why people where hurting her for something she canât control (which also lead to him doing research on mutants and why people hate and fear them) and the two become friends but a few months later sheâs sent to Xavierâs School For Gifted Youngsters and thus they end up forming a long distance friendship.
At age 12 Ben Reilly gets bitten by a genetically engineered Super Spider and gains powers on a school trip and becomes over the course of the rest of that year slowly becomes the hero Spider-Man
Peter Parker: Big Cousin and legal guardian after Mary and Richardâs deaths, very protective of Ben and a bit of a dork, wants to be a scientist
Gwen Stacy: best friend and surrogate sister, one of two people who can reel in Ben when he gets too gremlin like despite being a gremlin herself, wants to be a famous model and musician
Randy Robertson: resident chill dude, close friend and core gang member, wants to be a racer
Betty Brant: close friend and core gang member resident optimist, wants to be a reporter
Harry Osborn: cousins friend with deep seeded anger towards father (foreshadowing âcough Green Goblin coughâ) Heir to Oscorp and Fathers millions
Ned Leeds: cousins friend and massive geek (âNed is like if Joss Whedon writing was a personâ Benâs words) well meaning with his own problems, wants to be a journalist
Mary Parker: Coolest and most loving mother and aunt on the planet before death, was the one who told Ben With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
Mary Jane Watson: Peterâs girlfriend, how he got a 10/10 smoking hot girl like her no one can seem to explain, spunky, loves to party, selfless, sweet, genuine, loving, strong willed, sees Ben like her little brother, wants to be an actress, comes from an abusive household as went to live with her Aunt Anna because of it
Dr Miles Warren AKA the Jackal: Mad Scientist, creator of the spider that gave Ben his powers, feels a twisted sense of ownership towards Ben because of that, wants to capture Ben so he can open him up and see what makes him tick and apply that to his own research, Starts out somewhat normal but the more the story goes on the more emotionally unstable and unhinged he becomes going from hiring and creating Super Villains around the start of his quest to capture Ben, to hiring the Smythe family to create The Spider Slayers, to buying and modifying a Sentinel, to experimenting on himself with Canine (mostly jackal) DNA
