Custom food commitment is a thing of the past!
I want to highlight a creation by someone else today, because I think it's super cool and very useful to the community! Have you ever wanted to use custom food, but were put off by the fact that once in, you shouldn't technically remove it because it creates broken memories and tokens and whatnots? Do you have food in that you wish you could remove but don't want to because of those aspects?
Well fret no more, because jonasn has posted an updated version of his Memory Commander, that now has an invalid food removal option under Mass Deletion.../Remove EVERYONE'S Invalid Food. It cycles through the entire hood, removing memories where the food subject no longer exists, leftover plates that are empty (does not include apartment lots, or secret society lot) and fave foods referring to non-existing dishes. It could already sort of do it for one Sim at a time, but now it can do the entire hood all at once! How amazing is that?!
Check out this great mod object here
I was a tester for this function and it's been working perfectly in my testing. That said, please know that I am in no means an expert on corruption or anything such. To me this seems like a great tool that is super useful, but use is at your own risk. I've run a number of tests for jonasn on the functionality, and he's done what he could to verify the outcomes to see it's all good, but as with anything complicated there's always a slight possibility that there is something you overlooked. The object pops up a dialog that informs you how many things were removed, and if you exit lot without saving then the actions aren't saved, so I recommend just testing it if you are interested :)
Aside from this one function, the Memory Commander is also basically a one stop shop for anything memory-related you could possibly want. It can assign any game memory, it can modify existing memories to change subject etc. You can even assign other custom memories with it, as long as at least one Sim has gotten it in the hood. It's such a handy tool for anyone that likes memories, and as you know, I am memory obsessed so I am a big fan!
REBLOGGING cos this was low-key my idea after rebuilding my entire CC foods folder 😘😂👌 As always I am SO GRATEFUL for the Sims 2 modding community!!!
Random weekend upload! 🐑 @bubuthejedi over at GoS asked for some fuzzy rugs to be converted 4t2, and I decided to take them on!
Pralinesims Sheep Rugs on Simtomatic's 4x5 Rug Mesh
I guess this is technically a 4t2 conversion, even though no mesh converting was involved. I took the Sheep rugs from Pralinesims (warning, T$R link) and put them onto Simtomatic's 4x5 rug mesh (warning: also T$R link). Bub specifically asked for it to be a custom rug mesh so as to facilitate out-of-grid placement.
There's a total of 8 recolors included, and they'll show up on all repo meshes as well. The 4x5 mesh is the master, and then there's also 2x2, 2x3, 3x3, 3x4, and 4x4 variations - they're all included with thanks! Note that the rugs will look a bit distorted on the square meshes (especially the round recolor).
Also included in the zip are the original extracted textures from Praline and my recoloring PSD, in case someone wants to tweak the rugs further!

Orf - HBB cyclops for adoption 🧡💛💚💙
He is big and strong and ready to spread love across the simlands:)
You can find him here: SFS . He comes as you see him in the photo ( showerproof skin, blush and forehead wrinkles by me, also hair, beard and outfit are included in the package)
Please, be gentle to Orf. He is a really cool dude💕💜💚💜🤎

Revamped 'Bar Maxim' now....
it is a healthy drinks bar. The bar was made by marilu and the original version is here on TSR . I have taken off the gloss a bit ( thank @pforestsims for the shine removal kit ) and I made retextures, and recolours of the original files (so you can keep only one version, either mine or the marilu's one)
Here it is: SFS ❤❤❤ I hope you like it. A little bit of a healthy lifestyle for our gym loving sims ╰(*°▽°*)╯
Happy simming 💚💙💜🤎💛🧡
Peace
PS I have included a collection file :)

Distribution of Paid Custom Content Is Harmful
Speaking about the eternal topic of paid access, I’d like to share my opinion (even though no one asked for it).
I want to note right away that I’m talking about permanently paid content — I have no complaints about early access.
I saw that a certain person wrote that hoping to get custom content from certain paid authors for free is impudence, because they put a lot of effort and time into creating it.
That sounds fair, but do free creators put in less effort? Let’s say this is a debatable issue. There can also be long discussions about what counts as high-quality content.
But I want to draw attention to something else: these creators do not exist in a vacuum. They didn’t gain their knowledge on their own. Everything we and they know about modding in The Sims 2 is the result of intellectual — and not only intellectual — work done by many people.
I also see that paid creators tend to form closed, elitist groups and do not share their experience with the rest of the community, even though they benefit from its collective knowledge.
For example, would these paid creators be able to make their content without SimPE? This software is distributed for free. Or didn’t they learn from tons of tutorials published absolutely for free?
Programs, plugins, resources — all of this helps our community thrive around an old game abandoned by its developers (don’t tell me about Legacy).
It’s the players who openly share knowledge about their favorite game who prevent it from being forgotten and keep reviving interest in it again and again.
Let’s imagine all custom content for The Sims 2 were distributed for a fee. This would cool interest in the game — not only because obviously not every player could afford to buy everything. It would also make content creation less sustainable: access to resources would be more difficult, and competition in the creator market would split the income so much that it would become negligible.
This is why I believe that custom content locked behind permanent paywalls is harmful to our community.

Why?
The Sims 2 has had a long-standing problem known as 'pink flashing' or 'pink soup' when using too much custom content. The Sims 2 is a 32-bit program, which means that it normally has a maximum memory limit of 2GiB (2048MiB) and by using a so-called '4GB patch' you can raise this limit to -you guessed it- 4GiB, this limit might seem pretty large, but due to how the game works you might hit this limit sooner than expected!
Let's say you have 1024x1024 textures (which is the default for Sims 4 textures, and thus also often for 4to2 cc) in RGBA format, these textures will EACH take up 4MiB of texture memory! This means you could possibly only have only a MAXIMUM of 1024 textures loaded in memory before the dreaded pink flashing occurs. In practice, this limit is lower due to other factors.
This tool will help you find textures that take up too much texture memory, and thus (hopefully) help alleviate some amount of pink flashing.
Tutorial
First, download the program from the link above and follow the instructions to open the program.
Now let's get the program looking the way you want: click on the sun/moon button on the top left of the program to switch light/dark mode and click the "UI Scale" number next to it and enter a new number to change the size of the interface.
Set the folder we want to search: at the top bar, search for the 'Downloads:' bar, then at the end click the button with the folder icon and select your folder. Once you've selected a folder the program will instantly start scanning, if you want to restart this scan then at any time you can click the text in the Downloads bar and press enter.
Currently this list will show all textures in the scan folder, which is probably not very interesting. To find some more interesting textures we can add some filters to the texture list. On the top bar, click on the 'Filter' button: this will open the filter list and it will be empty if you haven't added any filters previously.
These filters filter the texture list one by one, each filter removing more textures from the displayed list of textures. To add a filter, click the plus button, and to remove it click on the trashcan button at the start of the line.
To edit a filter, click on the first box to choose the filter type, click on the second box to choose the type of comparison, and select the number in the last box to set the number to compare with.
The comparison type can be < (smaller than), <= (smaller or equal), > (greater than), >= (greater or equal), == (equal), or != (not equal).
The Format filter is different: make a format filter, then click on the 'choose' button and choose the texture formats that you want to show in the texture list.
Let's edit some textures!
In the texture list, find a texture that you think is too big, and either double click on it to open it in the default package editor or right click on it to show a menu to copy the details of the package.
Finally, once you have the package opened in your favorite package manager, edit the texture to be smaller and/or a better texture format, save and ta-da! your game will now use less texture memory.
Well hot damn that's a useful tool! So many things in this game, especially 4t2 things, use way bigger texture than they really need to. A lot of the time you can shrink them by quite a lot and you won't even see the difference in game. I've mainly been tackling it with new CC I add, but this will be so handy in going through downloads folder and finding the worst offenders with ease!

Monikeylla got in trouble...
...not for squatting😅
So the day was going just fine at first...
She gou under the blanket, watched tv, did some thinking about her home planet...
...aaaaand then she 'blew some bubbles' which made her hungry so she decided to make a yummy supper and this happened lol...
She still enjoyed the burnt lobster but a little less than as if she would have paid attention to actually watching the oven🤪
SHORT STORY OF MONIKEYLLA: She comes from a planet no longer existing due to excessive use of legal bubble substances. The inhabitants were setting fires after fires to their homes, streets, cars, and everything really. Then came the global warming and an ice age just after. Puff, everyone was gone either frozen like a chicken nugget or starved due to all the possible cookers and heating appliances being burnt in the burning frenzy. How did our brave Monikeylla survived? Noone really knows and she doesn't remember a thing.......
The Sims2 Little squatting building.... It’s my first time filming Sims so it’s a little awkward😅😅😅 but I really wanted to show you this home cuz it is one of my favorite ones. I apologize in advance for my English not being perfect🙃 Thank you all the cc creators for keeping the game interesting and growing.
Download on SFS / MediaFire I've been wanting to start a new custom hood for a while now and finally got around to making my very first SC4
Little squatter house....It used to be a flourishing mansion but time left its' footprint on it. Downtown of Lalandia on the map from @anhedonicworm ( beautiful and made for me with less roads)
Original link to the map aaaand it's just awesome. Also I'm so proud of the squatter house that I'm about to share a video tour.... overcoming my shy side💕All functional, a little morbid, and lots of collapsed yet usable area....:)
Peace
My sweet dancing queen lol💙 Have a happy day/evening my fellow simmers.
Peace
I don't care if you build, gameplay, story tell, create custom content -- or all of the above. If you're over the age of 30 -- reblog!
