cobra Kai posting again that show could’ve been so good. It could’ve been so fucking good. It was also good but it was terrible. There’s a perfect show deep down and somebody has got to get it out. A sequel to a popular action/coming of age movie about how neither the villain nor the hero never truly recovers because they were both kids in a situation where they were more violent than any kid should be. And that’s something that will have you gripping your steering wheel at age 50 like it owes you money. It’ll have you clumsily trying to make sure kids never go through what YOU did. It’ll lead to alcoholism and the inability to communicate. And when you’re a kid in a war bigger than you it feels good. Letting the anger out. Finally feeling like all that anger over all the hurt was justified. Finally having somewhere to put it (in the shape of bruises on the skin of your peers.) and before you know it you’re twisted. Like tumblr user blusandbirds and BRAT said I think the apples rotten right to the core from all the things passed down from all the apples coming before. LET ME OUT OF THE CAGEEE

I’m back in the fucking building again. Hey what would happen if a guy who was taken advantage of by a traumatized veteran and was turned into someone he didn’t want to be never recovered. What would happen if he stayed cruel and mean and unable to connect with people without hurting them. What if he had a kid and abandoned him because he was afraid of what he would become. And he was right. What if impressionable kids who had no one else to go to imprinted on him and he decided to try but it wasn’t enough, because he NEVER RECOVERED. What if he swore to himself he’d do it differently and then did it all the same. What if someone from high school he knew who also never recovered saw him trying to get better and the idea of it triggered him so badly he spun out. Because being violent as a teenager doesn’t save you even if it’s for the right reasons. And they both do exactly what they swore not to do and these kids are caught in the middle because they have no choice. They have no role models to go to because they’ve all been abandoned over and over again. Because they’re because they’re disabled, because they’re fat, because they’re black, because they’re brown, because they’re poor. And they all care about each other but they have no reference for good or healthy so this is all they can do. Pass on legacies of violence and accept the burden of pain.

This was never anything official. It's the work of a Jack cosplayer, SithCamaro or Toby Markham, who went under a different handle on the KTTC forums and asked us to call him Toby. He had connections to someone on the crew during the production of DMC and AWE and was one of the sources of several leaks. We called him "Toe-by" because he leaked a ton about the Pelegostos sequence waaaaay before that information was public, including Jack having a toe necklace, and we thought he was full of shit until pictures came out and confirmed it.

At some point, he saw the Asian-inspired costume designs from AWE, apparently including Elizabeth's pirate king design, and threw his own Singapore Jack costume together for Comic-Con. You'll notice that his work is basically a less detailed knock off of Elizabeth's outfit, with the leather work's shape and the color combos of super dark blue with gold accents being there, but the details of the embroidery having to be kind of thrown together:

Toby/Sith then photoshopped Depp's face onto his SDCC shoot to prank us on the KTTC fan forums.

They were so convincing they took off and got passed around as an actual behind the scenes exclusive for a while, but the truth didn't seem to spread after it. Here's archived pictures from his own gallery laughing about how it made it into major publications as an official leak:

This duo is lowkey so underrated, we don't talk about how in the absence of Valka and sometimes even stoick when he's too busy being the chief, it was Gobber who looked after Hiccup. And now Gobber's best friend is gone and he's watching his best friend's son who he's seen grow up, become chief. It must've been so bittersweet for him because on one hand he just lost his life long buddy but on the other hand he gets to see his apprentice go from being under confident and underestimated to becoming their leader. So yea i love the fics in which gobber and hiccup's relationship are emphasized
