Draco Malfoy x Reader | âïž | 1.4k | Gryffindor!ReaderÂ
You walked into the Great Hall, glad to be finally freed from your test. Spotting some friends, you cheerfully head over and took the empty seat next to them.Â
âHello everyone!â
The trio turned to look at you, returning your smile.
âHey, howâd the test go?â Ron asked, setting down his fork for a moment. âWas it as hard as everyone said it was?â
âNot too bad? I did my best,â you replied, sitting down. âHopefully that was enoughâŠâ
âYou studied with Hermione, youâll pass for sure,â Harry reassured you. The browned haired male bumped his shoulder into the girl sitting next to him. âTell her, Hermione.â

Hardly A Date
IndexÂ
A/N: Hello lovelies! Iâm sorry this took me so long. This has been a very awkward week. I was sad and I tried to dump my feelings into writing, but sometimes itâs not that easyâŠugh Iâm sorry. I hope you like this one. It was requested a while ago. Sorry for any grammatical mistakes. Also, I gave reader the physical characteristics of Lily Potters for (insert some good reasons). So, I am sorry if itâs not as immersive as it could have been.Â
Dearest anon requester, Iâm sorry this took me so long. Let me know if you read it and like it (I really wish you do).Â
Draco x Potter! Reader (she/her) Word count: 2735 Summary: Draco has a crush on Harryâs twin sister, who resembles Lily Potter.
Enjoy!Â
Harry sulked all the way to potions class. It was the first day of fifth year and his twin sister, (Y/N), was getting too much attention for his liking. He had always thought his sister was beautiful, but now every boy in school seemed to have realized it as well. Over the summer, she had grown taller and curvier. Her red hair had darkened a bit more. She wore it long, which framed her face delightfully. The resemblances to their mother was such that not even aunt Petunia could deny it. It made her harsher towards (Y/N), but not even that dampened the girlâs spirits.
(Y/N) felt confident as she walked by her brother. Since they set foot on Hogwarts, she had been the more popular twin thanks to her kindness and vivaciousness. She paid no mind to the looks and laughed at her brotherâs overprotectiveness. As the Fab Four sat at the very front, as per Hermioneâs request, (Y/N) felt something hit her in the head. Her hands searched the back of her hair and grabbed the paper crane that landed on her head. She turned around to find the one and only Draco Malfoy staring at her wide-eyed. He had sent the bird as a taunt to her twin brother and in no way had intended for it to hit her. The thought of her seeing the cruel drawing inside the bird made his stomach churn.
Draco was transfixed. It was the first time he saw her since last year and her striking green eyes were doing wicked tricks to his heart. Since year one, he had a crush on her. He thought those who didnât acknowledge her beauty should be burned at the stake. A year before, the blond had simmered in jealousy when he saw her at the Yule Ball with her brother, but that image paled in comparison to seeing her now. He cringed as she turned around, opening the paper crane.
Just as she did, Snape came in to the classroom. He was not in a good mood and it only got worse when he saw (Y/N) Potter sitting on the front row. She was scribbling something on a piece of parchment. She was the spitting image of Lily Evans during her schooldays, back when they were still friends and he clang to the sliver of hope that sheâd love him like he did. It was almost painful to see his student. Her presence soured his mood even more, so he decided he was not putting up with it.
âEvaâ I mean, Potter,â he said, motioning to (Y/N), âchange places with Goyle.â
(Y/N)âs gaze went back, once again, to the back of the room, where the Slytherins sat. Gregory Goyle was sitting just besides Draco. She stood up silently and put her things in her bag. Harry groaned lowly.
âIâm definitely failing now,â he murmured.
(Y/N) gave him an encouraging smile. âItâs going to be alright, Harry. Youâre good at this.â
âNever as good as you, sis,â he countered, âAnd if that prick does something to you I am going to kill him.â
She rolled her eyes in response and dramatically bid her brother goodbye. She walked all the way to the back of the room, where a very embarrassed Draco Malfoy waited for her. She greeted him cordially as she took her place. Draco and (Y/N) hadnât crossed more than ten words at a time. She was not a hothead like Harry, so she hardly gave in to the taunting. At times, when he said something particularly nasty, sheâd snap. Her comebacks were intelligent and sharp and often than not heâd be to flustered to answer. So, they were not on good terms, but not on a âI want to burn you alive and dance over your ashesâ basis.
âI believe this is yours, Malfoy,â she said coolly after handing him the paper crane.
The Slytherin swallowed hard and took the bird from her hands without saying a word. He listened intently as Snape gave the instructions. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed her flipping through the pages in her book until she settled on the one with the recipe for the draught of peace.
They brewed the potion in silence. Draco was enamoured by (Y/N)âs gentleness and the way sheâd handle everything with the utmost care. She was also unnaturally kind, as she didnât seem bitter at him for the paper crane or anything, really. It was a relief.
âAre you sure we have to powder the unicorn horn?â He didnât intend for it to come out as mean, but it sure sounded like that.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, as if challenging him, and theatrically put more pressure on her mortar. Her lips turned into a mischievous smirk and Draco had to stop what himself from putting too much powdered moonstone into the cauldron.
âI recall you saw me read the instructions,â she answered matter-of-factly.
Draco scratched the back of his neck. He took a deep breath and nodded at her sheepishly. âJust checking,â he murmured.
âYou should check your hands before adding the ingredients,â she teased as she pointed at the moonstone.
He smiled and raised his hands in mock surrender. âAre you suggesting that I donât know what Iâm doing?â
âI suggest nothing, Malfoy. I affirm.â
Draco was about to answer, finding the playful banter amusing, when Snape scolded them from his desk. Assuming they had been bickering, Harry turned around, shooting daggers at the blond and giving her sister encouragement she didnât need. (Y/N) shrugged and, after her twin turned around, smiled kindly at Draco. After that, they worked mechanically. As their potion turned into the desired turquoise blue colour, (Y/N) even concluded that they were a good team.
As Snape approached to their desk, (Y/N) noticed how he didnât even spare her a glance. He talked to Draco and asked him questions about the process. And when he gave them their well-deserved O, it was Draco he congratulated. (Y/N) said nothing of it, but found it frustrating. When he walked away, she released the breath she always held when he graded her and started packing.
Before she left, she flashed her classmate yet another impish grin. âI exhort you to open that paper crane.â
Once she was gone, the Slytherin opened the folded bird to find her intervention to his work. He had drawn Harry being hit by a thunder and falling off his broom. She had altered it for it to be him, falling and hitting the ground wrapped in a cloud of dust. It was so well done, Draco couldnât be offended.
âŠ
For the next two months, (Y/N) and Draco worked together in potions. Every time, theyâd engage in small talk and friendly banter. He marvelled at her wittiness and her sense of humour. He loved it when she got dramatic and made theatrical gestures or used aristocratic language just because. Draco was falling hard and fast for the redhaired Potter.
It actually made him wonder over the nature of his hatred for her twin brother. He found her funny and charming. He felt so at peace when they spent time together. And then there was Harry Potter, who he found utterly irritating, brash and self-righteous. He didnât understand how they could possibly be related. She was amazing in absolutely every way he was faulty.
Maybe he didnât particularly hate Harry? And why didnât he âhateâ (Y/N) anyways? She was just as self-righteous as her brother. They were practically joined at the hip and she was always involved in the same shenanigans as Harry was. They had the same eyes. Why hate them in one and love them in the other? What was the real reason for him to go out of his way to torment (Y/N)âs twin and friends?Â
Deep down he knew.
These thoughts consumed him as he did his rounds for the inquisitorial squad. At first, he had joined Umbridgeâs team because he wanted the authority and for a while he enjoyed it. Then, (Y/N) and Harry got punished by their sadistic teacher and he no longer wore his badge with pride. He knew they were up to something, but seeing (Y/N)âs swollen hand during their next potion class was enough to feel ashamed of his position.
Draco was just about to go to his common room, when somebody collided with him. He was too deep in his thoughts to feel the rush of getting someone in trouble. And then noticed the deep red hair and the scared green eyes. His heart started beating hard on his chest.
(Y/N) was absolutely terrified. She hadnât realized it was Draco at first; she was running as fast as she could from the room of requirement. Usually, she left D.A. meetings with Harry, but today he was playing Don Juan with Cho Chang and everyone else was gone. She was good at sneaking around. She was halfway there when she saw Peeves and decided to make a run for it before he saw her and woke the whole castle.
Thatâs how she had ended practically in Dracoâs arms. She was sweaty and out of breath and now she had to deal with the Slytherin prince. He was nice to her in potions, but she wasnât sure that was enough to get her off the hook. (Y/N) imagined herself getting another detention with Umbridge and it made her want to cry.
âHey, itâs okay,â he said as he grabbed her face tenderly.
For a second there, she thought she was hallucinating. She looked at him, eyes still teary, but also full of confusion. He smiled awkwardly, suddenly self-conscious of their position. Â
âA-Are you alright?â
âJust a bit agitated.â She tried to be as casual as possible.
âLet me walk you to your common room. That way nobody else will get you in trouble,â he said, offering her arm to her.
Draco knew that she was up to something. If he wanted to, he couldâve gotten all the dirt on their little secret society. She wouldâve been in a lot of trouble and heâd be the hero of the school. He said nothing, though, especially because she was holding onto his arm for dear life. They walked peacefully towards the Gryffindor common room and with every step he could only think about the idea that had been brewing in his mind for a while. Â
(Y/N) thought she was in the most ridiculous situation. She was a member of Dumbledoreâs Army and he was Umbridgeâs minion. He couldâve gotten her, her brother and friends in trouble, which was what he had wanted to do since their first day in Hogwarts. And here they were, arms linked as he escorted her to safety.
Suddenly, they stood in front of the Fat Ladyâs portrait. (Y/N) looked at Draco with gratitude. He nodded and offered her a smile. With trembling fingers, he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. Draco noticed (Y/N) blushing a little.
â(Y/N)âŠthereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you,â he said, the sudden rush of confidence making him lightheaded.
âYes?â
âWould you go to the next Hogsmeade trip with me? On a date?â
(Y/N) was speechless. She didnât know Draco thought of her that way, but suddenly the fact that he didnât rat her out made sense. Of course, he wouldnât be as lenient had he found Harry or Hermione. She thought about it for a second and smiled when she noticed him getting uncomfortable.
âLetâs make a deal, Draco. The next Hogsmeade trip is a week from tomorrow. If you donât bully anybody during the week, Iâll go out with you,â she proposed.
She noticed his eyebrows knitting in confusion. âWhat does that have to do with anything?â he groaned.
(Y/N) crossed her arms, amusedly. âWhy would I want to go out with somebody that messes with my brother and my friends?â
He considered her for a while and then sighed in defeat.
âŠ
âIs it true that you agreed to go out on a date with Malfoy?â Ron asked in alarm the next morning.
âI didnât agree,â (Y/N) shot back as she put food on her plate.
Harry was looking at her disapprovingly and she was doing her best to avoid his gaze.
âYou agreed to go out with him if he went a week without bullying us,â Hermione interjected with a reproving tone.
âThat I did.â
â(Y/N)!â Harry roared.
âWouldnât it be nice to not be bullied for a change?â she asked him innocently.
âIf the cost is that git snogging my sister then no, it wouldnât be nice.â
(Y/N) gave him a stern look.
âWhat? That is what happens on dates, (Y/N).â
âThen you should hurry up and ask Cho Chang to one as well.â
She tried to be humorous, but it clearly didnât work, so she tried to reason with him instead.
âCome on, Harry. It would hardly be a date,â she said while holding her twinâs hands, âbesides, I know Draco can be a nice person if he tries. He has been to me in potions. Why not give him a second chance?â
Harry scoffed. âWhy would I ever give that tosser a second chance? He has been messing with us since our first day here!â Â
They looked at each other and for a moment they had one of their silent conversations. Hermione and Ron stared as Harry failed to be stern and (Y/N) conveyed compassion in her eyes. As always, Harry gave in.
âYouâre too kind for your own good, you know that?â he sighed, âand I mean it this time, if that prick does something to you I am going to kill him.â
âŠ
âWhich oneâs better, âMione?â (Y/N) asked as she held one dress in each hand.
Hermione helped her best friend get ready for her date. As much as she disliked Draco, the week events had made her realize he truly wanted to go out with (Y/N). Throughout the week, Harry and Ron taunted the Slytherin in hopes that he snapped at them, thus ruining the date before it even took place. Hermione had frowned upon their Machiavellian plan, but had not intervened nor rat them out. As the days went by, though, she noticed how hard he was trying to be good. He looked the other way as the Gryffindor boys laughed and teased. He avoided making snarky remarks in class. Once, he even helped Hermione when she tripped and fell.
It had been a very hard week, but he had succeeded. Now he waited awkwardly by the portrait for (Y/N), who arrived a few minutes later. She looked as beautiful as ever with a pretty floral dress. They smiled at each other and walked out of the castle, this time with the regulatory distance according to Umbridgeâs decree.
As they made their way to Hogsmeade, (Y/N) thought this could possibly be the most awkward date of her life. It didnât help that it would probably her first real date ever. What could they have in common apart from their shared space in potions? What would they talk about? Then, she noticed how Draco was fidgeting with his fingers. She found that cute and it made her instantly relax.
As they sat at the Three Broomsticks, all of their collective fears of a bad date were soon proved wrong. They had a great time together. They talked about their favourite candies, their favourite pastimes, quidditch. Draco asked about her life as a muggle with genuine curiosity. She was actually very blunt about her situation at home, something that both marvelled and unsettled him. They laughed and made jokes and got theatrical together.
They walked back to the castle hand in hand. Once they reached the school, Draco dragged (Y/N) through some less frequented corridors. Engrossed in their conversation as they were, they failed to notice the Gryffindor trio following them. Harry and Ron were absolutely enraged as they saw the couple stop behind a column. Hermione had to restrain them when Draco put his hand on (Y/N)âs cheek. She squeezed their arms as the blond boy leaned in and gave (Y/N) a kiss she happily corresponded.
Harry was livid. His baby sister had her arms around that slimy gitâs neck. He wanted to rip his head off.
âHardly a date my arse,â he muttered under his breath. Â

Happy Reading!
The battle was over, and Draco Malfoy was nowhere to be seen. When you asked around for him, people gave you a questioning look, shrugged and then told you about he left with his family before things got a lot worse. A part of you was happy because you knew he was safe, but a bigger part of you was sad because you never got a chance to tell him how you felt.
But how did you feel about him? Even you didnât have a proper answer to that, but you knew there was something. It took everything in your power to not tell him sooner, but it was probably too late now.
You sat in the great hall with your head hung low and you felt someone sit beside you, it was Harry.
âI know youâre looking for him,â Harry said, disappointment lacing in his voice. He was one of the reasons you never said anything to Draco about how you felt, or at least how you thought you felt. Harry was one of your closest friends, and the one time he saw you with Draco, lets just say it didnât end very well.

Healing Heart ⧠Draco x Reader Mini-Series PART 3
PART 1
PART 2
Summary: PART 3 ! of Draco accidentally falling in love with reader during his sixth year (HBP) and finally allowing the relationship to blossom!Â
Warnings: just the tiniest bit of angst, crying (ofc), Draco sad for a little :(
Words: 7.3KÂ (THIS IS SO LONG OMG BUT MEMORIES IN ITALICS)
A/N: PART THREEEE !!! I think this is my favorite piece of writing in this series and the LONGEST. I know series start losing an audience after the first part but I hope that those who have been following this enjoy this one as much as I do ! Â I went off the HBP script bc i wanted Draco to live it up and be happy and playful ! also i do not own gif.Â
The sky was a darkening orange, the sun casting its last glowing light of the day as it quickly began to disappear behind the Hogwarts castle. Small birds and other flying creatures passed overhead, going towards their homes in the trees before nightfall, chirping and singing as they did. The sound of wind rustling through leaves from trees and overgrown plants brought a peace in the air between the couple.
Draco turned his head to the side, a soft smile forming on his lips as he observed you. The both of you were on your backs lying on a spot of grass under a small tree, a different tree than the one the two of you had your fall out by a few months prior, requested by you. Draco thought back to a couple weeks ago when you and him had been walking around the outskirts of the school and you had seen it in the distance.
âThat tree is cursed,â you muttered bitterly, eyeing it behind Dracoâs head. He turned back to look at it and grimaced.
âIâm still terribly sorry about that, love,â he slipped his hand into yours, bringing the pairing up to his lips and gently placing a kiss on your skin. âWeâll find a new spot.â
âEffective immediately,â you nodded in agreement. âPlus, my friends dared me to climb it last year and I fell off and broke my arm and leg. I hate that tree.â
âArm and leg?!â He stared at you in disbelief, âMerlinâs sake, Y/N, itâs shocking how clumsy you are.â
âYou should be glad Iâm clumsy,â you retorted, âyou wouldnât have been graced with my presence now if it wasnât for me tripping into you.â
âI suppose thatâs true,â he smiled, throwing an arm over your shoulder and pulling you into his side before pressing a kiss to your temple. âWho wouldâve thought that Iâd be a fool for the klutz who sprained my finger and busted my lip on two separate occasions before weâve properly met.â
âOn accident!â You exclaimed horrified, stifling a laugh as he did the same.
Your eyes were closed, peacefully allowing yourself to fully bask in the sunlight that was kissing your skin in its golden hues and warmth. Draco turned onto his side, propping himself up with his elbow so he could admire you better. The longer he looked at you, he felt a shiver run down his spine and a foreign queasy feeling in the pit of his stomach appear that he could only describe as tons of tiny blue cornish pixies wreaking havoc on his insides. In simpler terms, butterflies.
âAre you staring at me again, Malfoy?â You hummed quietly, your eyes still closed as you questioned him.
âNo, why would I?â He answered with a playful arrogance, the grin on his face widening as your eyebrows furrowed at his answer.
âYouâre rude,â you mutter, trying to fight back a smile. âI think I remember you doing the same thing earlier and telling me, and I quote, âI canât believe someone so beautiful is real,â end quote,â you tried mocking his haughty accent as you quoted him which only earned you a laugh from Draco.
âThat sounds nothing like me, you must have me confused with some other poor bloke,â he snickered, a laugh leaving his mouth immediately after.Â

âWhy is it so bloody cold?â
[Y/N] is decked out in full winter apparel; a knitted Gryffindor sweater, ear-muffs, and a scarf that she has half of her face buried in.
Sitting in the Quidditch stands with the rest of her friends, she grumbles, âItâs not even a Gryffindor match. We donât really have to be here freezing to death.â
âWell, itâs common courtesy,â says Hermione, but sheâs just as cold as [Y/N] is; thereâs bits of snow stuck in her hair and the tip of her nose is pink.
Ron snorts loudly. âWeâre here to watch Slytherin lose,â he says matter-of-factly, still in the process of smearing streaks of blue paint across his cheek.
[Y/N] watches him, nose scrunched. "Well, arenât you the Ravenclaw fanatic.â
He gives her a grin and holds out the small tub of paint. âWant some?â
She bunches up her lips in thought, then reaches out to take it. Annoyingly enough, Ron pulls back at the last moment, grinning wider than ever, and says, âOr d'you want to show support for your boyfriend Malfoy? Hermione, why donât you turn this greenââ
[Y/N] dives over Hermione and Harry to smack Ron round the head, only for the pair to hold her back and push her into her seat.
Exasperated, Hermione huffs, âHonestly, Ronald, will you stop bringing that up?â She glares at him. âYou know fully well [Y/N] doesnât like it.â
Ron (and Harry, although he isnât as boisterous about it as the redhead), thinks that the âblond ferretâ taking a fancying to her is one of, if not the most hilarious thing to have ever happened in history. Annoyingly enough, Ron has made it a habit to tease her about it every chance he getsâthis one being one of them.
âIf I didnât know better, Iâd have thought Ron fancied Malfoy with how much he talks about him,â grins Harry. This earns him a smatter of blue paint across his face; Ron had flicked it at him.
With one last eye-roll, [Y/N] tears her gaze away from Ron and digs her nose further into her scarf. It really is very cold; snow is falling from the sky, seeping into her clothes, some landing on her hair and on her face. Thankfully thereâs not so much of it that the players on the pitch wouldnât be able to see around them, but stillâ[Y/N] imagines that itâd be a lot colder for them, having to fly around the stadium with the cold wind whipping at their robes.
Thereâs a buzz of loud chatter hanging in the air as conversations from all around them overlap over one another. The entire stadium is slowly filling up; students trickle into the stands, a majority of which have adorned themselves with blue accessories as a show of support to Ravenclaw. One side of the stands, however, is entirely green. Through the snow, she can see a big serpent-shaped balloon hovering over the Slytherin side.
âTheyâre coming out!â someone exclaims.
Sure enough, when [Y/N] looks down at the pitch, players from both teams have appeared and congregated at opposite ends of the pitch. Slytherin and Ravenclaw; whichever house wins will play Gryffindor for the house cup. Most bets are on Slytherin, but [Y/N] would have to be dead before she is caught anywhere supporting them.
âLook, itâs [Y/N]âs boyfriend,â gushes Ron.
More out of habit than anything, [Y/N] shoots the redhead yet another brief, scathing look. Draco Malfoy is there, even though heâs nowhere near being her boyfriend, pale face set into a stoic expression of calm as he stands with the rest of his team, one hand on his broom and the other on his hipâand this specific image has her thinking back to what happened two weeks ago on this very same pitch, except the stadium was empty and it was only the two of them on the grounds; when heâd confessed to liking her.
As if Malfoy has somehow heard her thoughts over the noise of excited chatter coming from all over the stands, he looks up, eyes sweeping the seats in search for someone before finally, they land on her.
When he meets her gaze, [Y/N]âs breath isnât knocked out of her chest, nor does she start blushing madly. But she doesnât burn red with annoyance, either. All she does is stare at him, eyes narrowed, watching as his lips split into a wide grin and he raises his hand to wave at her.
She rolls her eyes, but thankfullyâthankfully, the scarf tucked around her neck, reaching up to her nose, conceals the smile that tugs at her lips.
âMay I ask everyone to please find themselves in their seats before the match begins,â McGonagallâs voice echoes around the stadium, giving [Y/N] a reason to break eye contact.
She tears her stare away from Malfoyâs, inhaling a deep breath through her nose, feeling oddly exhilarated.
But this isnât anything new. That slight feeling of breathlessness, that unfamiliar sensation tickling at her stomach whenever she spots a certain someone in the hallway; sheâs been feeling it a lot lately, and though the cause seems to be pretty obvious, that is another thing sheâd have to be caught dead before doing: admitting that she reciprocates some of Malfoyâs.. peculiar feelings.
âAnd theyâre off!â Dean Thomas announces. [Y/N] watches as the players soar high into the air until theyâre mostly level with the stands, a blur of blue and green robes rapidly zooming around the pitch. Slytherin is already in possession of the quaffle; not a surprise, considering Ravenclaw isnât exactly known for their exceptionally talented Quidditch team.
Malfoy, meanwhileâ[Y/N] tells herself that the way her eyes dart around the pitch in search of a certain platinum blond is because she wants to watch the game properly and not for other reasons.
She spots him hovering somewhere above the rest of the players, face screwed up in concentration as his gaze moves around the pitch in search for the golden snitch. He looks even paler in winter, set against a backdrop of a cloudy sky and snowâ
[Y/N] jars herself out of her thoughts and blinks, side-eyeing her friends (specifically Ron) to make sure they hadnât seen her.. observing the Slytherin seeker. (Not like it matters; itâs not as though she fancies him, but Ron would certainly take it the wrong way.)
âGo Ravenclaw!â Ron practically screeches, waving his Ravenclaw banner in the airâwhen did he get that? âKick Slytherinâs arse so Gryffindor can crush you in the finals!â
[Y/N] snorts. âHave it all thought out, donât you, Ron?â
âGo on and cheer for your Slytherin boyfriend, [Y/N], no oneâs stopping you,â says Harry, grinning. She turns to face him, mouth open in disbelief, and lets out a quick breath of incredulous laughter.
âSo, Harry,â [Y/N] says, suddenly deadpan. âI see youâve chosen Ronâs side.â
Harry snickers, then shrugs.
"Oh, Malfoyâs seen the snitch!â someone shouts from beside them. [Y/N] turns back to the game to see Malfoy zooming down the pitch, clutching the front of his broom as he swerves past Slytherin and Ravenclaw players alike in pursuit of the tiny golden ball all the way on the other side of the stadium, where [Y/N] and her friends are sat. He has the upper handâRavenclawâs seeker is only just now starting to fly after him, but sheâs a good distance behind and Malfoy is gaining speed.
âHeâs gonna catch it!â
âRavenclawâs even worse than I thought,â grumbles Ron, slumping down in his seat.
But just as Malfoy passes by them, somehow, despite the fact that he is in pursuit of the bloody golden snitch and on the brink of securing victory for his team, he slows down just the tiniest bit, and then, in true Malfoy fashionâtheatric as always in his displays of affectionâhe catches her eye and yells âThis oneâs for you, [Y/N]!â, a grin on his face before he hurtles down the pitch, stretching out his hand towards the fluttering snitchâ
âMalfoyâs got the snitch!â Dean Thomas screams into his microphone. âSlytherin wins!â
[Y/N] stares, feeling oddly warm despite the wintry weather, as Malfoy spins around in mid-air, triumphantly holding up the snitch for the rest of Hogwarts to see.
âBlimey,â gapes Ron, wide-eyed, staring not at the Slytherin seeker but at [Y/N]. âThat wasââ
[Y/N] looks away from Malfoy to meet Ronâs gaze, maintaining indifference. âHeâs quite the charmer, isnât he?â she mutters, and hopes that her friends will think that the blush on her cheeks is because of the cold and not because of somethingâsomeone else.
But thatâs ridiculous. It is because of the cold, isnât it?
âIt may be Malfoy,â says Ron slowly, shaking his head, âBut you canât deny that was bloody romantic. Felt like I was watching something out of one of those Muggle films.â
âYeah, weâll have to ask him for tips,â says Harry, and starts laughing when [Y/N] rolls her eyes in response.
â
Malfoy may have stopped sending her Howlers, but that hardly matters because he has found every other way to pester her.
This includes consistently yelling out her name and shouting random pick-up lines every time he spots her in the hallway, as well as sending people to do her biddingâno longer first-years, but Crabbe and Goyle, who show up at random intervals everyday presenting her with a batch of different pastries. She always sends the pair off, but only after Ron and Harry accept said pastries for themselves.
âBlimey, this is heavenly!â gushes Ron, taking a passionate bite off of his second red velvet cupcake. âYou sure you donât want a bite, [Y/N]? Hermione?â
[Y/N] offers him an exasperated smile. âNo, thank you, Ron.â
âDonât thank me, thank your boyfriend.â
The four of them walk into the dingy Potions classroom. Snape is nowhere to be seen, but itâs only a matter of time before he swoops in all bat-like, so [Y/N] and Hermione quickly take a seat at their regular desk, right next to Ron and Harry.
âHave you done your homework?â asks Hermione, pulling out an assortment of parchment from her bag.
[Y/N] hums in response. âI doubt mine is half as good as yours, but hopefully Iâll scrape an acceptable.â
âOh, youâre a good student, [Y/N]. Donât bring yourself down.â
âHard not to when Iâm sitting next to the brightest witch in our year,â she nudges Hermioneâs shoulder, smiling. Hermione huffs, rolling her eyes, but itâs clear by the pleased look on her face that she doesnât hate [Y/N]âs honest flattery as much as she lets on.
[Y/N] drums her fingers on the desk to pass time, not quite paying attention to the students filtering into the classroom. Or at least not until one of them calls her name and drawls, âIs someone sitting here?â
[Y/N]âs head snaps around to see none other than Malfoy, gesturing to the desk to the left of hers and Hermioneâs. âMind if I,â he pauses, grinning, âSlytherin?â
She purses her lips into a thin, tight line, inhaling deeply as she fights to keep her cool. Yes, there are times when Malfoyâs gestures have her questioning her own hatred for him, but thisâthis is not one of them.
"That,â she says, voice mostly level. âIs your seat, Malfoy. I donât see why you have to ask me.â
Which is a lie. [Y/N] knows why, of course. To get her attention. To woo her. But part of her wishes that Malfoy would realize that everything he is doing, from the overbearing pick up lines to the cupcakes to his constant public declarations of love, isnât something that [Y/N] thoroughly enjoys. Does she want him to stop yelling at her in the hallways? Yes. Does she want Crabbe and Goyle to stop bumbling up to her everywhere she goes (outside of the girlâs bathroom is one example) offering cupcakes and pie and tarts? Yes. But does she want Malfoy to stop trying entirely?
Maybe not. Maybe part of her wants to give him a chance. He does seem to truly hold feelings, judging from his confession back at the Quidditch stadium, unless heâs a terribly good actor.
And it wouldnât just be him sheâd be giving a chance, either. Perhaps sheâd also be doing so to herself. Because, over the past month, itâs baffled her how quickly her feelings for him have shifted. Or maybe itâs not a change of feelings, but rather realization that under all that sneering and pureblood prejudice, Draco Malfoy is a boy.
An annoyingly attractive one.
But there is so much more that [Y/N] dislikes about him. His snootiness. His arrogance. His lack of consideration for other peopleâs feelings. He may be tall and lithe and undeniably handsome, and he may have very soft-looking platinum blond hair and stormy grey eyes like dark clouds, but he is also a prick. And that wins over everything else, no matter how.. visually pleasing he is.
So when a paper bird flutters in front of her halfway through the lesson, when Snapeâs back is turned, [Y/N] hesitates. She knows fully well who itâs from, despite not having to look to the side and meet his gaze.
From beside her, Hermione whispers, âGet rid of it, before Snape sees.â
Exhaling, [Y/N] snatches the paper bird and quickly unfolds it.
She doesnât know what sheâs expecting to see, but itâs certainly not the words âmeet me at the Astronomy tower after dinnerâ scribbled across the parchment. And with a drawing of a face blowing kisses, no less.
[Y/N] sighs.
â
[Y/N] has no real feelings for Malfoy, so succumbing to his mysterious evening request at the Astronomy tower shouldnât mean anything.
Scratch that: it doesnât mean anything. Not to her. (Or so she tells herself.) This is a chance for her to tell Malfoy to sod off and to stop courting her. And for good, this time. No matter what that annoying little voice inside her head tells her, she canât possibly even consider the idea of actually giving in to him. (And to herself.)
So sheâs going to put a stop to it, once and for all.
âIâm going,â she decides over dinner, slamming her palms down on the table.
âGoing where?â asks Harry.
âThe Astronomy tower,â she replies resolutely.
âWhat, to go star-gazing?â Ron snickers. [Y/N] glances at him and realizes, quickly, that telling them had slipped her mindâsheâd been far too preoccupied with her own conflicting thoughts.
She shifts in her seat. She doesnât necessarily need to tell them, does she? Itâs not as though itâs important enough to share. And besides, Ron would only badger her about it. Mercilessly. [Y/N] can already picture him in her head, talking about Malfoy and snogging under the stars and Merlin-knows-what-else.
âNevermind,â says [Y/N], taking a bite out of a muffin and looking away. They donât need to know; itâs not as though itâs important.
â
After [Y/N] has walked up all of the stairs to get there, only taking one or two shortcuts, sheâs out of breath, but she creeps into the Astronomy tower anyway. Itâs mostly dark save for the faint moonshine filtering in from the open sides, and, wellâthere he is.
Malfoyâs arms are crossed over his chest, his back mostly turned as he stands dangerously close to the railing, looking out over the dark landscape. Dim light catches on the side of his face, illuminating the grey of his eyes.
The curve of his nose.
Pale skin.
White-blond hair.
[Y/N] finds herself staring, one hand on the doorframe as though for support, brows furrowed in the middle in a slight frown as she watches him.
He looks lost in thought. Even from a few feet away, [Y/N] can see the far-off, distant look in his eyes. Like storms brewing behind dark clouds, she thinks to herself. Itâs a quiet little whisper in the back of her mind that has her heart doing odd little flips inside of her chest that she never knew it was capable of.
But then she blinks.
This is the last thing [Y/N] needs. To see Malfoy stripped of his arroganceâto see him as he is, bathed in moonlight, glowing, almost. To look at him and to see a boy with eyes like molten silver and nothing moreâitâs the last thing she needs to convince herself that she doesnât feel something for him that isnât hatred.
No, she doesnât need this.
She turns around, breath caught in her throat, and starts walking down the steps. Accidentally, stupidly, her foot catches on a metal step and a loud clang echoes around the silent tower.
[Y/N] pauses, eyes wide.
â[Y/N]?â Malfoyâs voice says. He canât see her. Itâs too dark, and [Y/N] is too far down the steps.
She swallows. But instead of dreading what could come, she finds herself waiting, half-hoping that heâd check the staircase, that he would see her andâ
And then what?
[Y/N] rushes down the steps, ignoring the loud noise her footsteps make on the way. This is the last thing she needs.
â
[Y/N] doesnât like Malfoy.
[Y/N] doesnât like Malfoy, and she is determined to make that clear. (Both to herself and to her friends, although the former seems to be taking a lot more convincing.)
âWhat is there to like about him? Heâs nothing but an annoying pain in the arse who has an overwhelming amount of pride and arrogance simply because of his bloodâwhich is not only something that he never rightfully earned but is also something that shouldnât even bloody matter, except he thinks that it does solely because he is an absolute nutter who has nothing better to do with his life other than leech off of his parentsâ money and shove it in other peopleâs faces.â
Ron meets Harryâs gaze from across the table, who seems to be trying very hard not to laugh. Swallowing down a forkful of pancakes, Ron looks back at [Y/N]. âIâm sorry,â he begins slowly. âBut remind me again why weâre talking about Malfoy?â
âIâm not finished, Ronald,â [Y/N] snaps, shooting him a dirty look. Ron raises his eyebrows. âAs I was saying before someone so rudely cut me off, Malfoy is a nasty little git who finds joy in making other people suffer. he probably has tiny puppies locked up inside his basement just so he can laugh in their faces and revel in their misery because he is that horrible of a personââ
Harry lurches with poorly suppressed laughter.
âAn absolute terrible excuse for a human being! He basks in other peopleâs humiliationâmine, for example!âand I would much rather snog the Giant Squid than ever actually consider hisââ She pauses, gritting her teeth. âOdd.. requests.â
âItâs not like heâs asking you to murder house-elves,â Ron mutters.
âSomething that I would rather do than date him!â
â[Y/N]!â Hermione gasps, looking genuinely offended as she, for the first time since theyâd arrived at the Great Hall for breakfast, looks up from the homework sheâs rushing to finish. (As if her five pieces worth of parchment arenât enoughâFlitwick had only asked for three!)
âSorry, Hermione,â [Y/N] says, offering her an apologetic look that she only half-means. This quickly turns into a fierce look of challenge as she swivels back around in her seat to face the redhead sitting next to her. âHonestly, since when have you started defending Malfoy?â
Ron blanches. âIâm not defending him!â he says indignantly, setting his fork down on his plate. âItâs just.. yeah, itâs a bit odd that heâs declaring his undying love for you out of bloody nowhere, but heâs stopped badgering us, hasnât he? Nasty little ferret hasnât said a word to Harry for weeks! And that goes for me and Hermione, too!â
[Y/N] narrows her eyes at him. âSo you think itâs great that heâs stopped annoying you at the cost of my suffering?â
âWhat suffering!â Ron exclaims. âHeâs been treating you like a bloody princess!â
âOh, why donât you just snog him yourself, then, if you think so highly of him?â
Ronâs jaw drops in shocked offense.
âAlright, thatâs enough!â Harry announces, reaching over the table to shove the two apart from each other. âWhy doesnât one of you switch seats with me before you end up strangling each other?â
âI donât know, Harry,â [Y/N]âs lip curls. âI might have to hold Ron back before he goes running off to his ferret princeâor should we just let him? Merlin knows heâd love to, wonât you, Ronald?â
Ronâs teeth are gritted; his eyes dart around the food on the table as though looking for the most effective weapon. He seems to be choosing between a green apple and rhubarb pie.
Thankfully, Ron never gets to take his pick. The bell rings, saving everyone in the Great Hall from witnessing what could have possibly been a brawl between friends. âCome on, letâs go,â says Harry quickly, relief evident in his tone of voice as he ushers the pair to their feet. âWouldnât want to be late for class.â
â
[Y/N] doesnât like Malfoy.
[Y/N] doesnât like Malfoy, but why does she find herself staring at him whenever she comes across him in the hallway the next day? Why, when Malfoy meets her gaze, does she look away and pretend to be immersed in something else?
And why in the bloody hell, when Malfoy playfully winks at her during Potions class, does she find it very, very hard not to smile?
She walks out of the dungeon classroom in a hurry with Ron, Harry, and Hermione, not wanting to spend a minute more in Malfoyâs presence; she doesnât particularly enjoy being suddenly hyperaware of every move he makes, every little glance he sends her way when he thinks she isnât paying attention. Itâs as though something in her system has gone awry. Is that why her heart feels like itâs about to hop right out of her chest? Is that why she canât stop wondering what wouldâve happened if sheâd stayed at the Astronomy tower?
âHey, wait up!â Harry calls loudly as they walk up the stone steps leading away from the dungeons and into the main hallway, which is bustling with students.
[Y/N], who had been walking far too fast in front of the three, looks back over her shoulder and sees that theyâre a few feet away. She stops, seemingly flustered, and waits for them to catch up.
"You look like youâve wet your pants,â says Ron.
âIâm not you, Ron,â she retorts.
âOh, can you two please stop bickering for once?â says Hermione, exasperated.
From behind the three, Draco Malfoy emerges from the potions classroom and begins walking up the stone steps. [Y/N]âs hands clench into fists at her side as she discretely presses her back to the stone wall at her sides.
The blond doesnât even as much as glance at Ron, Harry, and Hermione as he passes by them on the steps. [Y/N], howeverâonce Malfoy has reached the step below the one sheâs standing on, he pauses, no less than two feet away from her, and quirks an eyebrow.
âWhat?â [Y/N] scowls, trying not to look at the strand of blond hair dangling in front of his eyes.
Malfoyâs gaze dances over her face. âWas it you?â
She meets her friendsâ eyes over Malfoyâs shoulder. Ron and Harry have their eyebrows raised; Hermione looks concerned. [Y/N] takes a moment to compose herselfâtries to force her heart back into her chestâbefore she folds her arms across her chest and looks at the Slytherin. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
âAt the Astronomy tower,â Malfoy says, and moves up one step so that heâs standing on the same one sheâs on. A foot away. âI heard someone last night, while I was waiting for you.â
Oh, Merlin.
âYou came, didnât you?â he presses on.
âNo,â [Y/N] lies, and hates how defensive she sounds. She shifts a little on her feet, her eyes skirting away to look at a random spot behind Malfoy. âI was.. at the library. Doing things of actual importance.â
Thereâs a slight pause as Malfoyâs nose wrinkles. âMustâve been someone else spying on me, then,â he finally says through a scoff, but [Y/N] knows disappointment when she sees it. He rolls his shoulders back and puts on his signature smirk, inclining his head towards her as he takes another step up the stairs. âBetter hurry and give me an answer, [Y/N],â he tells her, grinning. âBefore one of my admirers get to me first.â
[Y/N] watches as he walks up the steps and disappears into the hallway.
âThe library?â a voice says incredulously. She turns back to Ron, whose face is scrunched in disbelief. âNo, you werenât! We were waiting for you there and you never came.â
[Y/N] folds her arms across her chest indignantly but doesnât respond, instead walking up the stone steps.
âMalfoy said he was waiting for you at the Astronomy tower,â says Hermione slowly as they trail after her; [Y/N] speeds up her pace. âIs that why you mentioned going there during dinner last night?â
[Y/N] emerges into the main corridor first. âNo, I didnât.â
âYes, you did!â bursts Ron, sounding downright triumphant.
âCongratulations, Ron, you donât have the memory range of a teaspoon, after all,â [Y/N] mutters, looking around. Malfoy is walking down the hallway a few feet ahead of them, Crabbe and Goyle at his side.
Ron ignores her. âI bet you did go. I bet you did spy on himââ And then he gasps, looking as though heâs unearthed the secret of life. âMerlinâs beard, you really do fancy him, donât you?â
[Y/N]âs footsteps falter. Ron, Harry, and Hermione stop right with her.
Hermione is the only one who doesnât look stunned out of her mind. Looking between the two boys, she rolls her eyes and scoffs. âHonestly, is that so hard to believe?â says Hermione, frowning. âI understand that itâs Malfoy and he is a prick, but [Y/N] is perfectly entitled to fancy whoever she likes.â She turns to [Y/N]. âItâs fine, [Y/N], you donât have to feel guilty about it. Anyone would catch feelings if someone started doing such sweet things for them, even if it were someone like Malfoy.â
âBlimey,â says Harry, breathless. âWhich part sealed the deal, [Y/N]? The pick-up lines? Or was it the cupcakes?â
[Y/N], who had been opening and closing her mouth like a fish blown out of water, finally stops trying to find words that just arenât there and instead drags her palm across her face in frustration. âI donât..â she says, sounding defeated, but reallyânow that sheâs faced with such confrontation, itâs easier to admit to herself that maybe.. maybe she does fancy Malfoy.
Ronâs lips have split into a jubilant grin. âI called it!â he says, smacking Harryâs shoulder. "Bloody knew it!â
Hermione reaches out to rub [Y/N]âs back. âDonât feel too bad about it, [Y/N]. I sort of knewâyou looked at him differently after he confessed to you on the pitch.â
[Y/N] sighs, realizing that no amount  of denying it will convince her friends. Or herself.
She does fancy Malfoy.
Properly acknowledging itâfinally admitting it to herselfâis oddly relieving. Sheâs been keeping her feelings cooped up inside of her chest despite the fact they are so much bigger than her, and now that sheâs letting them burst free.. now that sheâs coming to terms with them..
Well. Itâs not the worst feeling ever.
Ron is still beaming, looking as though heâs won the lottery. And apparently, in a way, he has: âFred and George said itâd take you a month longer to give in. I said itâd take you lessâguess Iâve won myself two galleons!â
[Y/N]âs mouth falls open. âYou bet on this?â
Ron raises his eyebrows, as though surprised to hear that she didnât know. âUh, I and the entire bloody castle.â
Struck by a sudden burst of both annoyance and confidence, [Y/N], scowling, detaches herself from her friends and strides down the hallway towards Malfoy, full of intent. He hasnât noticed her yet; his back is still turned, but she catches up to him easily. And when she does, she unceremoniously bumps her shoulder into his and grabs his hand, quickly interlacing her fingers through his.
âWhat the hellââ
Malfoy, obviously taken aback, tries to pull his hand away, sneering, until his gaze lands on [Y/N].
âKeep walking, Malfoy,â she says scathingly, not quite looking at him.
Baffled, Malfoy stares at her, then down at their hands, which are now tightly interlocked between them. [Y/N] scowls resolutely at the hallway ahead of her.
And then Malfoy laughs, more out of disbelief than amusement.
âKeep walking,â [Y/N] repeats, this time turning to look at him, fighting to keep her gaze indifferent. The last thing she wants Malfoy to know is that there is an onslaught of tiny little butterflies rampaging in her stomach and a tingly feeling spreading from their hands all the way up her spine and into her heart.
Malfoyâs lips tug up into a wide grinâa real one, [Y/N] thinks. Not an arrogant smirk or a deprecating sneer; one that she canât ever recall seeing. But now that she has, she finds herself wishing heâd do it more often.
[Y/N] tugs him along as she walks, feeling the stunned stares of her friends boring into her skull from behind. (Ron is going to have a field day about this.)
âSo,â Malfoy begins, and she doesnât have to look at him to know that heâs still grinning down at her. âChanged your mind, havenât you?â
[Y/N] rolls her eyes; she doesnât fail to notice the way that the students theyâre passing by are staring at them, eyes wide, whispering to themselves. âIsnât this what you wanted?â
Malfoy shrugs. âAmong other things.â
She side-eyes him, muttering, âDoes that include snogging?â
He makes an amused sound at the back of his throat. âYou said it, not me.â
[Y/N] has to grit her teeth to stop the corners of her lips from tugging up. They turn a corner down the hallway, disappearing from both their friendsâ views (assuming they havenât followed them). At this thought, [Y/N] takes a brief glance over her shoulderâand sure enough, thereâs a redhead peeking out of a group of very confused Ravenclaws.
Cursing Ron Weasley inside her head, she turns her gaze back ahead of her. âI have Charms class next.â
Malfoy raises his brows. "And what do you expect me to do with that information?â
âWalk me there,â says [Y/N] briskly.
She can practically feel the surprise radiating off of the blond next to her. A moment later, he throws his head back in a loud laugh. âAnd you want me to be late to Transfiguration? Itâs all the way on the other side of the castle.â
[Y/N] hums. âCanât even do that for the girl you fancy?â
Thereâs a beat of silence. His grip on her hand falters a little as he says, voice still nonchalant and yet at the same time holding an undeniable sense of sincerity, âI could if I knew she wasnât leading me on.â
âShe isnât,â [Y/N] says, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
Malfoy is staring at her with his brows pulled in together just slightly at the middle, giving off the impression that heâs trying to decide whether or not sheâs being serious. He slows down his pace until he comes to a full stop, urging [Y/N] to halt alongside him until theyâre standing in the middle of the hallway, oblivious to the stares following them and the redhead a mere few feet away.
âHow do I know this isnât a prank?â says Malfoy, lip slowly curling as he narrows his eyes at her, the first few traces of suspicion etching itself onto his face now that the whole ridiculousness of the situation has finally sunken in. [Y/N] canât blame him; her anticsâsuddenly marching up to him in the hallway, grabbing his hand and walking with him as though theyâve been doing it for yearsâall of it is uncalled for after having ruthlessly turned him down so many times before. But [Y/N] canât delve into a discussion of her conflicting emotionsâat least not right nowâso she hopes, at least for now, that he will take her word for it.
She clears her throat. Â "Well,â she begins, looking down at their hands; Malfoyâs grip has gone slack. "If I wanted to hold your hand, Iâd do it because I wanted to. Not because I wanted to get a rise out of you.â She lets her gaze go back up to his, brows rising in familiar challenge. âI donât stoop that low, Malfoy. Youâve been in love with me for yearsâshouldnât you know that by now?â
There are a few seconds in which the blond standing before her still looks at her with a scrutinizing gaze, lips set into a thin, hard line and his eyes swimming with conflict that [Y/N] wouldnât have been able to see from afar, but sees in perfect clarity now that sheâs standing a mere foot away from him. But then, after what feels like ages, Malfoy nods, slowly, frown smoothing out into an expression ofâcould that be relief?
âI will be late for Transfiguration, you know,â he says, lips quirking up into a grin.
[Y/N] laughs. (A real one, Draco thinks to himself.) This time she doesnât try to stop herself from smiling; just lets her lips do so of their own accord. It feels nice. Freeing. âBetter just one of us than two, donât you think?â she says, mirroring his playful grin. âAnd besides, Goyle can stand in for you. You two do have quite the resemblance.â
âOh, sod off.â
And it really is very odd, because everything about this shouldnât feel right; theyâve been enemies for the longest time, and a year ago, [Y/N] would have been revolted at the mere idea of ever coming close to Draco Malfoyâbut it does. That is, it feels right. Like theyâve been this way for ages and this playful, harmless banter is the most natural thing.
Draco isnât perfectâMerlin, does he have a long way to goâbut if he means to stop being a prat as long as [Y/N] is at his side, then she is willing to venture into whatever has formed between them.
And if this little bond is going to involve any more of thisâthis being her and Draco exaggeratedly swinging their arms between them as he walks her to Charms class with their fingers still intertwined, snickering, waiting for one of them to start complaining about their arm sockets hurtingâthen maybe it isnât the worst thing ever, after all.
A porcupineâs Halloween present (+ original sound effects)
I had no idea giant porcupines made fucking precious sounds
THATâS THE SOUND IT MAKES!?!?!?
UN-BE-FUCKING-LIEVABLEÂ
We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises.Â
One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when theyâre excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.Â
Omgggg the sounds.

The sea is a beast.Â
Claws of ice, the deep, deep blue fragmented into shards, scrape at the underbelly of the ship. Sluicing down the sides and spilling across the planks of the deck. Through the night, it rages, though you keep your eyes closed against it, willing dreams to soak you, to drown you. When you wake, you hope, you will be dead.Â
The sea is a cradle.Â
A gentle fury, calming beneath the grey, arching sky overhead. Shattered by a pink dawn, soft blood spilled upon the horizon. Strong arms entrap you, clutch you there, to the side of the ship as she moves and thrusts proudly beneath. His voice curls in your ear, sweet as a lover, but cut with a blade.Â

Prologue
Dueling scents fill your nostrils. Cedar and bergamot. Vanilla and amber.
Silk sheets caress your bare skin. A comfort. Theyâre warm. But thatâs probably a result of the two furnaces on each side of you. Although the king sized bed is plenty big enough for the three of you to stretch out comfortably, they choose to stay huddled at your side.
That realization makes you wanna laugh.
The two most feared and powerful men of the greater northeast region like to cuddle.
Clark lies to your right side. You can tell itâs him without having to look. Heâs built bigger, stockier than Steve whoâs to your left with his arm slung over your waist.
Slumber has betrayed you. Your mind too wired, too busy buzzing with thoughts to calm down enough to let you get some well deserved rest â especially after the unspeakable, explicit activities you partook in.
Blurred vision slowly clears as you blink. Your bedroom looks the same, pale moonlight offering a slight crack through the darkness, but it feels different somehow. You canât quite put your finger on it.
Every time your eyes close for the briefest moment, memories of just hours ago flash behind your lids. To think this whole thing started with a simple conference. One no different than the ones youâve been attending for the last several months.

anyway
this explains so much about my sense of humor
You hate yourself so loudly. You hate yourself at the top of your lungs. Your loathing for yourself permeates your speech. âSorry Iâm just rambling.â âDonât worry about it.â âJust ignore me.â âSorry if Iâm annoying you.â âSorry I donât make sense.â âSorry about that.â Sorry, sorry, sorry. You act as if you have to beat everyone else to the punch. As if the punching bag is you. If you hate yourself first, if you hate yourself loudest, then nobody will hurt you. You clapped your hands over your ears and shut your eyes and balled yourself up so that youâd never have to experience peopleâs loathing for you. And it meant you never heard their love. You drowned it out. You screamed your hatred over it. And you never got to hear it.Â

Characters: Stever Rogers x Reader x Clark Kent Summary: Rival mob bosses in New York Warnings: (again, this is if iâd continueâŠ) angst, eventual smut, mafia stuff (?)
You knew this day was coming sooner or later. The day when your fatherâs life would inevitably come to an end, leaving you to fill his shoes.
The family business.
Drug trafficking. Extortion. Money laundering. Killing.
Your two brothers were dimwits. God graced them with the short end of the stick when it came to brains. Though you were the youngest, the baby of the family and the only woman, your father trusted you the most not to run his empire to the ground.
Tears well in your eyes as you cradle your fatherâs head in your lap and try your best to apply as much pressure as you can to the gunshot wound in his chest.
âListen to me,â He says softly, voice hoarse and strained. âYou have to be strong, baby girl. Remember everything Iâve taught you. Donât let anyone underestimate you. Especially those two fuckers.â
You struggle to hear every word he says when crimson warmth covers your hands and spills onto your gala gown.
He squeezes your forearm gently and the tears formed finally trail down your cheeks from the corners of your eyes. âI love you. Make me proud. Give âem hell.â
He takes his last breath. Shaky and stuttered. His eyes remain open, but they are lifeless. Chest still and hollow.
âDad?â Your bottom lip trembles and your vision is blurred from despair. âDaddy?â Your voice cracks and you sob, clutching onto his body.
~ ~
You look like fresh hell. Feel it, too.
The once ivory dress you wear has splotches of blood all over the front. Your makeup is ruined and your hair us mussed. The chilly October air makes goosebumps form on your flesh, but you pay it no mind. You hold on to the metal handrail to get down the steps of the event hall.
You see them across the street standing side by side. Sharply dressed in their Armani and Versace tailors tuxedos. Hair slicked back and beards conditioned to perfection.
Especially those two fuckers.
Your fatherâs voice rings in your ears. Steve Rogers and Clark Kent. Rivals of your family and each otherâs. The Feud goes back at least a hundred years. Maybe more.
Kent owns Staten Island and a quarter of Jersey. Rogersâ territory consists of Brooklyn and the Bronx. Your family name extends over Queens and Manhattan.Â
Your feet try to drag you to them, but youâre stopped by your brother, Clint. He takes you under his wing, hugging you close. âDonât,â He shakes his head, holding your face in his palm. âNot here. Not now.â
His best intensions are put forward. He wants to protect you from the trouble youâre bound to get yourself into.
Your neck already feels the weight of the crown now that lies upon your head.Â
These streets have a new queen.
And sheâs out for blood.

fandoms598 said: So my request would be"the reader is Harry sister (like a year or two older, because twin would be too much I guess), really close to the Weasleys, she finds herself fall for Charlie, and surprisingly he does too. Though they are not able to admit their feelings especially due to the age difference and distance. During the battle of Hogwarts she fights against Bellatrix but almost die, getting knocked out trying to protect her friends. Charlie then realizes he could not bare to live without telling her how he really feels toward her, so when she wakes up he canât help but kiss her in front of his astonished family (except for Bill âcause he obviously know his brother), Harry and all her friends"
Gif not mine. If yours and you want credit and/or it removed, please let me know!
Charlie X Reader
Life as the elder sister of Harry Potter hasnât been easy for as long as you can remember. If you werenât attempting to shield Harry from the wrath of the Dursleyâs, then you were trying to keep your brother alive from whatever new threat popped up inside of Hogwarts.
Of course your best friends, Fred and George, made your life somewhat easier, as had Mr. and Mrs. Weasley who started inviting you over to spend summers with them when Harry started attending Hogwarts as well.
The younger Weasleyâs, the Potterâs and little Miss Granger were thick as thieves and the whole school knew it. You messed with one, you messed with all. And no one dared to cross you or the twins after a rather petty duel between Harry and the little prick Malfoy left Hermione on the wrong side of a curse and very humiliated. Snapeâs obvious uncaring attitude towards it didnât help at all and as a result.. a majority of the Slytherinâs woke up the following weekend to boils in some very embarrassing places.

Whatâs REALLY inside the Hufflepuff Common Room
A/N: A lovely anon has requested me to continue doing another of these common room posts. Iâve considered making this into a four part series, and since Iâve been feeling the Hufflepuff vibe recently, this is part 2 of whatâs really inside the xx common room series ~
Iâd say that this is the house that has a the most versatile things going on in their common rooms
home vibes oh my gosh
the earthy, green tones are so comfortable to be around
not to mention that because of the plants that are situated inside the common room, itâs also the most environmental friendly, contrast to the other common rooms
Just like the other housesâ common rooms have multiple floors, thereâs a secret staircase in the Hufflepuff common room that leads to the indoor garden downstairs: the students, under the guidance of Professor Sprout, can experiment with all kinds of plants, including fruits, and spices
secret garden vibes in real lifeÂ
now letâs talk about location. like Iâve said before, because of itâs close proximity to the kitchens, the students have a GREATÂ advantage in sneaking in foods

Under Pastel Skies - 8
Sugar daddy!Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Modern!AU Bucky doesnât need anyone, especially not a sugar baby. He isnât that desperate⊠but she smiles so sweetly and sheâs endearingly awkward, and heâs so lonely. Sheâs an artist, a painter, the type of person who always puts others before herself. Throwing caution to the wind Bucky offers her a place to live, a place where she can finally paint whatever her heart desires. He doesnât need much in return; a friend, a muse.

A/N: If this chapter had a name it would be âme, you, and steveâ. Also I know how infuriating they are, so oblivious and dumb but isnât it the point of pining ;) Thanks for your patience!
Wannabe sugar daddies, donât interact with this post.
Buckyâs cab pulled over to the curb in front of his building. He tugged on the lapels of his coat, pulling it tighter around him, and braced himself for the blast of cold air waiting for him on the other side.
He hated the cold, hated winter. It reminded him of the day he lost his arm, alone on that godforsaken mountain until Steve found him. But he could deal with the cold if it meant heâd find you on the other side of that door.
