Shout out to character having a healed up wound but it still hurts when they move that bodypart maybe even years later. Hell yeah let out a little wince when you stretch your arm out to get that thing from the shelf.

I really like it when a character is in so much distress that they start self harming about it. Nails digging into their own skin until they bleed. They might not even be aware that they're doing it, it's like an ingrained automatic response to fear for them.
States of being in pain
Staring at the ceiling, unable to move, unable to think, unable to do anything.
Crying and screaming, not being able to deal with it anymore, but also not being able to get away from it.
Breathing through it and feeling some relief. Okay. I can do this. I'm still in control. I can still handle this. Just breathe. Just focus on your breathing.
Breathing through it and feeling no relief at all. Slowly losing your grip on your coping mechanisms. Decending into panic and desperation. Hyperventilating.
Doing okay with the pain until one small extra thing suddenly completely sends you over the edge.
Rocking back and forth. Trying to sooth yourself and distract yourself. Fidgeting. Biting your lip. Bitting your nails.
Pulling on your hair to create new pain to distract you from the existing one.
Getting dizzy and nauseous just from the pain.
Drifting in and out of consciousness. Welcoming the softening edges of the pain as you're slowly drifting off.
Constant chronic pain that might not be that severe but becomes completely overwhelming to your mind simply because its always there.
Sharp unexpected blunt pain that suprises you and makes you yell out, all of your brain consumed by the sudden wave of agony as adrenaline rushes through your system and you're awareness completely shrinks to the sensation or the injury.
Nervously preparing yourself for pain that's about to come. Trying really hard to stay calm. Trying to remember what helps you get through it. Trying not to give into the rising panic in your chest.
Recovering whumpee who is forced to open up to the team to protect someone else from being hurt. They have to put themself into harms way again, for the safety and wellbeing of someone they care about. They are retraumatized, but so is the new whumpee, so they become a caretaker.
Because even though they couldn't fully protect the new victim, recovering whumpee can't let the other go through it alone.
I wish blood was cool and fun to have on you and not a biohazard and usually painful to get
Whumper digging their fingers into an open wound to see when whumpee will start to beg
Whumper giving whumpee some help releasing the knots in their back and neck. Its painful, but not as excruciating. Even worse, its relaxing. A painful experience that melts into that "hurts so good" relief. And whumpee starts to associate pain with that little moment of euphoria. They begin to crave it.
Hi team tragedy have u heard of whump
Nothing brings joy like identifying and befriending a whump enjoyer in the wild
"Stay down."
I KEEP seeing this on my dash and I NEED to revise it. I can keep quiet no longer
Don't worry if your physical stamina prevents you from manually holding a position. That's what the stirrups and restraints are for.

The reason I say I think kink is a powerful tool of queer liberation is because queer kink is visually, philosophically, culturally, very resistant to true assimilation. The full extent of queer kink is not marketable, it is not palatable, it is inherently weird and deviant because kink intentionally engages in the unsavory, the taboo, the difficult and strange. It lays power and how it functions very bare. It subverts socially engrained power structures constantly. It plays with things that society fears. I also think kink would be sociologically considered forbidden knowledge, and this also makes its assimilation into hegemonic culture very difficult.
Kink cannot be clearly and openly advertised and marketed because of this forbidden knowledge; it's offensive to almost all cultural standards. (This is a GOOD thing.) It cannot be conveniently standardized. It is and always will be unappealing to a large portion of people, because BDSM WILL engage in play with scenarios that are genuinely and understandably upsetting. (It is very much like horror in this way.) And because of the risk involved in Hard/More Risky BDSM, I don't think it should ever become culturally normalised. It is something that requires a community that ensures participants have the proper education, guidance, good intentions and standards, and is capable of pushing out bad actors to protect people. I think safety information should be plentiful and accessible, but I don't think it should (or really could) be "normalised".
I think thats powerful! I'm so glad we have furries, pup-players, piss drinkers and adult babies to keep at least one corner of culture inpenetrable to heteronormative hegemoneity.
