Convincing myself that once uni eases up I'll write down some of my many many thoughts about Slow Horses.

Main things I'm particularly interested in:

- the tasty differences in self destruction we see (substance abuse (Catherine and Shirley), emotional distancing (Lamb and Louisa), escapism (Ho and Coe) and sometimes just straight up wanting to get hut (Riverrrr)).

- what it means to be a 'joe' and how the term carries weight for different characters (inspired in large part by Louisa saying some very nice things about catherine)

- catherine and lamb's freaky codependent relationship which transcends decades. Something is DEEPLY wrong with both of them and I appreciate that.

Thoughts would be appreciated because my brain has rotted from rotating this series in my mind like a microwave

Ice Age AU this, leverage AU that, HAVE WE CONSIDERED CAT&DOGS AU??

This movie takes up way too much of my brain. I was rewatching some of the scenes and there are 1:1 comparisons.

Butch (Alec Baldwin dog) is obviously Roy, a very serious dog who just wants to be left alone TM. He becomes the unwilling mentor to Lou.

Lou is Jamie. No further comments. (EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THIS DOG HAS A PLOT POINT ABOUT BEING GOOD AT SOCCER)

Ivy is Keeley. Actually begging people to look up the scene between Butch and Ivy. Like it's the exact same vibes.

Peek is Beard. Very odd dog who has a control over all the surveillance and the communication stuff (and lives in a tube??? idk man)

Ted is a bit harder, on the one hand he's Sam (English Sheepdog who's loyal, same vibes as Ted and best friends with Peek) buttt on the other hand an argument could be made that he's the Jeff Goldbloom scientist (pretty neurotic with a strained relationship with his son that he's trying to repair) which would make Henry, Scotty (which fully tracks - with loving soccer included)
