Foreigners can go to college in many places in Europe and as I understand it, the full cost with room and board and travel expenses still comes out considerably less than a semester at the average US school.

Yes but in every case I’ve looked into going to school in Europe makes it more difficult to get loans and federal funding and with strict international student work visas you can’t make enough money working to cover it so while it’s cheaper the money still has to come from somewhere I.e. already being wealthy.

5,000 dollars in Sweden vs 15,000 dollars in the US is still 5,000 dollars I don’t have

I know there are routes but having spent time in Norway and Scotland and talking to multiple schools and immigration and visa counselors I know it is not easy or often even possible.

If US students could just go to school in Europe we’d all be doing it, trust me.
