About this blog
Hello! This is a blog about bugs. What do we mean by bugs? We are not referring to true bugs (Hemiptera) and not even to insects as a whole. For the purposes of this blog, a bug is any arthropod, that includes insects, yes, but also arachnids, crustaceans, and so on. Animals with segmented bodies and hard exoskeletons, the most diverse and prolific phylum of them all! Once in a while, we might talk about other animals, but they will be discussed under the #non-bug tag. Asks with questions or comments are welcome. We do not ID bugs! As of now, we are not knowledgeable enough to confidently identify bugs.
We don't only post information about bugs, though. Often, we will post/reblog pictures of bugs without added context. Just because we think they are neat, and they very much deserve it.
Needless to say, this blog will contain discussions and images of bugs, things like wasps, spiders, scorpions, and cockroaches. If you find them too unsettling or in any way distressing, feel free to not interact with this content. Or maybe you want to get over your fears, in which case, please interact! Maybe you'll come to realize how amazing these background critters truly are. It's up to you, really, but we thought it'd be sensible to add a disclaimer. Just in case someone didn't realize what the blog was about.
Who is "we"?
"We" is actually a team of two members of an OSDD system. One of our special interests is entomology, so it was only fair to create a blog for it. Here are links to our main blog and our reblog account. You can call us Alex or Lyx interchangeably.
