After the first run with Alma, they found and attempted to herd some chickens to bring back to base. Joe was not going to leave the camp for the second time without a weapon and decided to borrow one from the Armory after getting permission from Naima. He saw Sera walking out of the armory and quickly took a revolver and chased after the engineer, he had not seen her since the warning alarm rang and was relieved to see her safe in camp. âGood to know that youâre safe little engineer.â He told the girl as he hung his arm around her shoulders.
Sera was on a mission to prove to herself and everyone else that she could do more than just tinker with things, that she could be useful. Years of survival training at the hands of her dad had prepared her for this mission and while no one really knew it, she could handle herself in a fight. She had a tough exterior, hard and unwavering, and yet it had started to crack the minute she heard about the attack. Sawyer, the guy she saw as a little brother even though they matched in age, and Joe, the guy she couldnât get out of her head lately. Feeling the arm around her shoulder and the words, she almost laughed at the timing but instead just returned his hug. âYeah, Iâm fine J. I stayed behind like a coward.â She said, her voice dripping with anger at herself.Â
