So i live in a fairly small college town that is very very pro-lgbt with a population where the average age is 27.5 years old. And there is a very distinct clothing style (particularly with crowds) that is best described as 'lots of strong aesthetics that are very unrelated'

So one game me and my friends like to play is 'is that group of people Queer, Gen-Z or Native to the city.

Example: Group of people age 15-25ish??? walk into Taco Bell. One has a ripped band tshirt and jean bootie shorts and a mullet One is in a bunny onesie. One has a 'boyfriend button down" shirt dress, thigh high fishnets and 4 inch heels. One has patchy facial hair, a fro and overalls. And the last one is wearing a giant hoodie down their knees, shades, and socks with flip flops.

Yes! If they call a food 'spicy' or 'itchy' then that is almost certainly an allergy or intolerance.

But also, sometimes they dont like the way its cooked in ways that can be easily fixed.

For example: If your kid doesnt like the way the food 'feels, thats a texture issue. A really easy way to avoid veggies texture (especially for things like onions, peppers, or squashes) is to brown them in a pan, then puree them with a bit of oil in a blender or food processor, and pour the pureed veggies into the end product as a sauce. Itll have the texture of marinera and add all the flavor and nutrition, just in a better texture.

If its leefy greens like spinach or kale that 'feel' bad, freeze them for a a few hours before cooking and then throw the still frozen greens into a blender/food processor. It will chop them up into tiny peices the size of dried basil flakes and eliminate the limp texture found in cooked spinach.

Also! Many children dislike bitter/sour flavors because poisons and mold are often bitter or sour. Humans evolved to be hypervigilant against bitter/sour flavors when we are small because poisons and molds that might be fine for a full grown adult could be deadly for a small child. To be safe, children will instinctively avoid anything bitter or sour, even if its perfectly safe for them. Telling them the food is safe won't shutoff that instinct that screams danger to them. If they are 2-10, dont pressure them or they may also come to associate butter flavors with getting in trouble. Once they get into the 10+ range, the instinct to spit out the bitter food will likely go away completely and they will find they actually love it. Bitter/sour foods might be things like kale, broccoli, citrus, cranberries, coffee, green tea, dark chocolate, and fermented foods. If your kid doesnt like the flavor of foods that are bitter, understand that they arent being difficult, their body is trying to protect them. Either try finding other foods that give the same nutrients or add other flavors to cover the bitter flavor. (Cheese, milk chocolate, yogurt, and savory/umami flavors often work well for this. Theres a reason cheddar broccoli soup is so liked by children. The cheese helps cover the bitterness.)

What Im saying is always ask them why they dont like the food. Sometimes they have a medical consdition and you need to know. Other times, there are easy ways to alter their meal to make the texture palatable without sacrificing taste. And sometimes its just that their body instinctively knows they are small and vulnerable in a world full of poisons and is trying to protect them the only way it can until it is big enough to survive.

The only possible downside to asking why they dont like it is they might tell you you are a bad cook 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't know how weird this is, but Ive made a google doc with the names, races, and pics of all the jedi council members, the entire Yoda lineage, the Bear Clan of Obi-Wan's age group, all the clone's names, numbers, battalions and jedi General, a comprehensive timeline of events, common words and phrases in Mando'a and Huttesse, and more so I can reference them while reading fanfics.

A solid 12 page doc with sub catagories, charts, and diagrams all designed to help me read fanfics easier.

Love love love the idea that Bucky is in this weird little situationship with Sam where they used to be friends with benefits who would occasionally get in bed together. After FAWS, they had gotten closer and each made comments and gestures that that seemed to imply they wanted more from each other, but then Sam got his team and Bucky was running for Senate and they hardly hooked up but instead sent texts all the time about how much they missed each other and how important the other is to them and that got both of them thinking that they were moving towards dating. Or at least, Bucky was pretty sure they were heading in that direction. But now Bucky has the New Avengers Thunderbolts team and he hasnt heard from Sam at all so he has no idea if they are even fuckbuddies still or whether he just imagined that Sam was about to ask him out the last time they hung out.

And the whole Thunderbolts team now has to hear about Sam as Bucky stares at his phone, sighing wistfully like a love-lorn wife waiting for her husband to return from the war.

If the story doesnt actually emphasize their emotional bond (like they just happen to be coworkers or teammates or are family and the story isnt about their bond) you dont need to tag them at all. Or just add them in the Characters tags but not the Shipping tags.

Please stop tagging ships that arent there. Omfg. Please stop tagging ships with / if they arent dating or sexual or crushing on each other. Please stop using / on a ship tag for people who are shown as best friends. Please stop using / when the two characters dont even have crushes. Being teammates or best friends or having a sisterly or brotherly bond does not equal / . If your two characters doent want to date or make out or fuck each other, you use the fucking & sign.

Adam/Bob means Adam and Bob want to date or have sex. At least one if not both is sexually or romantically attracted to the other.

Adam & Bob means the story revolves around their friendship, their platonic bond, and how close they are.

If Adam and Bob just happen to be teammates or coworkers or barely talk to each other or just happen to be brothers of the main character, you dont have to tag any relationship at all between them. Just add them as a Character tag or ignore them completely

Please. Because bad tagging is making it nearly impossible to properly filter tags.
