Holy shit. This is the worst bill that I (personally, at least) have ever seen.
It is specifically extending the established laws to include identity. Not acts. Identity.
Including those of allies
Same-sex acts are punishable by jail terms under Ghana's new bill targeting those identifying as gay, lesbian or transgender.
A similar version of the bill was shot down in 2024, because multiple people challenged it with lawsuits in the supreme court, and so they made it LESS stringent for this 2026 one, which now
exempts punishment for legal, healthcare and media professionals who provide medical treatment and other services for gay people, or report on LGBTQ+ news.
Passed by MPs, the bill proposes prison sentences for people identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.

Bonus: If I buy a book I get to keep it! The publisher can't turn up at my house at random and confiscate all the books I bought.
