it’s been a while since i’ve had ocs but it’s been fun drawing them and thinking about their personality/story! i love how everyone has their own version of the hatchling character and i want to share my own more ::3

hollows lantern: how many achievements do you have?

on the ps5, all of them! some of them were accidental i believe xD (such as eat 10 burnt marshmallows, die within 60 seconds, knocking the satellites out of orbit... i think the i got the one achievement where you take the wrong artifact into the simulation and explode on accident)

on steam version, im still working on achievements! been doing kind of a fun little (slightly moded but nothing super game changing) playthrough recently there, but im trying to drag it out a little bit so achievements are slow to roll in there '::)

i'll add onto the sun station a little bit more with a mention of (big spoilers!) finding out what happened to the nomai in the interloper! felt like a big moment in the game with how much revolves around the nomai... i can't explain it, but it was just mind blowing for me, and was one of my favorite (if a little sad) discoveries in the game ':)

ember twin: favorite vs least favorite planet to explore

favorite: gotta be brittle hollow! there's just so much to look at and read between the hanging city and the first settlement and everything else... plus one of my favorite characters is camped there ::D i remember just loving that planet, because wow there's a whole lot to explore and its really beautiful imo.

least favorite: ahh uehh even though i've exposed myself to it long enough at this point so im okay with it now, i was not a dark bramble enjoyer while playing for the first time. went there once towards the beginning of my playthrough out of curiosity, had a heart attack, then avoided it for nearly the whole game until i nearly had nothing left to do '::) not a fan of big fish that make loud noise and eat you.

dark bramble: was there any time where you “feldpar’d” something?

HA yeah… slingshotting around the black hole was a fun way to get around. other than that, i don’t think i really “feldspar’d” a whole lot… but there were a couple instances where i just. managed to brute force my way through areas??

example: (spoilersss!) i managed to dodge the cacti guarding the entrance to the sun station warp by jet packing across them (the sun station had already been consumed by the sun at that point, so i couldn’t warp to it. but it was still pretty funny for my 1 audience member to watch!)

…then as a secret bonus, here’s a clip of me doing one of the candle puzzles in the dlc simulation completely wrong. and by completely wrong i mean i didn’t try that hard and ended up (somehow) successfully jumping over to an area i wanted to get to ,::) who needs paths anyway?

(no audio, but the dialogue is basically me celebrating for doing the entire thing successfully incorrect lmao)

hey hi!! original answer right hereee :3 and then also another timber hearth right here! lots of them xD

will add a character onto the list regardless. chert! i think chert was the second traveler i met in game? instantly named them "egg" and loved their design lmao (especially the star bandana). then later, every time i was in the area, i would try always try to spend the last bit of the loop with them so they didnt have to be alone.

anyway, they share my interest in stars (though i'm not really a science person, i just like looking at them) and they're easily one of my favorites ::)

helloo!! timber hearth was originally answered right here! though i will take this moment to add gabbro to the list. i really wish they had more dialogue in game, especially as the time-buddy. i want to be able to tell gabbro all the cool things i discover while playing!

giants deep: if you were one of the travelers, what instrument would you play?

realistically? probably the violin. i played for like, 9 years, though i haven't touched it in a bit i'm sure it wouldnt be that hard to pick it back up again.

though i REALLY love the guitar. i havent been able to afford/have time for lessons, so unfortunately i don't play often or am very good at it '::) but if i were a traveler i would probably go for the guitar (´꒳`)

...though with this new opportunity to yap more about the music, "travelers encore" and "campfire song" are also on my list of favorites! travelers encore just feels so complete with the prisoners part- not that the original" travelers" was empty in anyway, but i feel like it adds something that brings it together.

and campfire song is just. so joyous. i imagine it as something hearthians would play at campfire gatherings when everyone is home and together. so upbeat and fun!

the sun- how did you first get into outer wilds?

gonna blame my sibling for that one heh. at first when she was describing it, i'll admit i had no interest. did not think it was for me at all. obviously that was false and i had no idea what i was talking about xD

she was stubborn about it and so eventually i caved with outer wilds. went into the game completely blind while she watched. i've thus learned that i have no idea what kind of games i like and that i should just listen to people when they tell me to "play this game" lol (thanks J, hope you enjoyed watching me do the puzzles wrong)

the stranger- which out of the three main species do you want to/think you'd be?

hearthian! ::D i love timber hearth (if it isnt obvious which how much of that planet i draw here lmao) and i love the close-knit community vibes the village seems to have going on. would love to be a hearthian in their universe!

ash twin- worst death you put your hatchling through

OOF anytime i'm in the ember twin caves and get caught in the sand, i visibly cringe. not a fan of rising sand/water/lava/etc mechanics in games, stresses me out so bad, and the death sound you get from it... i feel so bad when that happens :')

i do remember dying in some pretty funny ways tho. once i landed my ship on the little quantum area on brittle hollows surface. so the ship collided with a quantum tree, started spinning agressively, and got smacked by the leg of the ship and just. killed me. also flung me off the side of the planet and presumably into the blackhole ':) fun times!
