Bum Life was born one summer night with a couple of friends, a few drinks, and some big dreams. I started out by writing a bucket list including all the things I wanted to accomplish during the summer of 2012. One of the first things that I wrote down was to find out what it takes to be happy. After a little sun and a lot of soul searching, I discovered that for me happiness is all about that positive attitude; it's the beach bum lifestyle. With good friends by your side, the sun shining bright, a smile on your face, and a passion for life, happiness is yours for the taking. Coming from Long Island, we're all about being comfortable in your own skin and the laid back lifestyle that Bum Life embodies. We count on soaking in the good times and loving life. Music Monday has returned to the Bum Life Blog and I've got an exciting new artist to share with you guys! 

I discovered Kolohe Kai on a reggae inspired 8tracks mix and I immediately fell in love with the Hawaiian vibes this band had to offer. If you're looking for some relaxin' tunes to cruise to in your car or while boarding this summer, then Kolohe Kai is definitely worth checking out. Immediately after hearing this song my mood was lifted and I couldn't stop swaying my hips to it all day. It's one of those feel-good, ready-for-summer songs that will have you craving the ocean the whole way through. 

The above track, titled Cool Down is off of one of Kolohe Kai's first albums titled "This is the Life." After releasing that as well as their second album "Love Town," the frontman Roman De Peralta took a two-year break to discover the world. He travelled to New York City, Israel and Tahiti to rediscover what the word inspiration meant. Lucky for us, he found it. 

Kohole Kai is currently touring in New Zealand with Sean Kingston, but after May 15th they'll be hitting up Vegas and California, so if you're in the area you should definitely check them out!

Kolohe Kai released their third album "Paradise" which is available on iTunes and you guys should definitely check it out.
