Summary : if only he didn't let the only colors in his life go and his doubts get the best of him.

The pain in his chest was something that he couldn't handle, it was too much for him to bear yet he just kept smiling at her, casually saying some words for her enough to make her blush. Unaware of how she does many things to him.
He grabbed the pills he have by his drawer and drank some, breathing very hardly, he was drenched in sweat, dripping down from his forehead to his chin, then his neck. Lucien's lab coat hung by his back, he pulled off his tie and unbuttoned his shirt for how hot it feels inside his office of the very research institute that he had owned.
His phone ringed, signalling that someone messaged him, it was her. He furrowed his eyebrows, trying his best to ignore the text as he blankly stare at it. This was a side that he would never wanted to show, especially to her. Lucien warned her so many times, of how he is the "danger" itself but her...she just kept hanging out with him, curious of his own many sides and that she knew deep within, he wasn't dangerous. He stood up from the chair and opened his closet, grabbing some change for his clothes.
He could have taken advantage of her already, but he didn't. Why you ask? He doesn't know.
Everything he sees were grey and white, he had always lived a colorless life until he met her, she was just casually walking down the streets of Loveland, her eyes we're searching something that time, those eyes that radiates off her own innocence.
He didn't realized that he had already changed his shirt, putting on his lab coat again. Then a call came ringing from his phone, those gentle features that he had showed to most people seemed to have vanished away, replacing it with who he truly is, he answered it.
Guy : Ares, you better do it.
Lucien : I will take as much time as i need, there is no rush for i want her to fall completely into my trap.
Guy : Don't let your feelings get the best of you, this is all according to plan for the rise of the Queen.
Lucien : As if i don't know that already, excuse me but i have to go for i had some business to attend to.
He didn't wait for the colleague of his to say something as he hung up the phone, his usually normal demeanor was replaced with a frown on his face. Lucien went through his phone again, to read the text that was sent by you which read that you got off work, apologizing that you can't be with him as you were with someone. He felt like questioning who are you with but he deleted the whole text he was about to sent you, maybe you were with your friends. So, he decided to drop by on your company, curiosity slowly getting to him and maybe, surprising you even.
He walked out of his office, receiving some greetings from his coworkers as he smiled at them, some girls swooning over him, not knowing "Lucien" was a mask to hide his own true identity.
Lucien exited out of the institute, it was a bright and sunny day, nothing special, him and his own black and white world similar to those old movies. He observe around his surroundings, some kids running around happily, some were with their own family.
He continued to walk, step by step, his face remains emotionless. And he finally arrived there.
Ah, there was you were, happily smiling with your friends as you giggle to one another, the colors soon coming out that he had often longed to see, you made him change on how to view reality in a good way.
"You aren't really joining us, Boss?" Kiki pouted as you just stood there, sweeping off your hair to the back as you nervously laughed at her, getting quite pushy to the topic.
"Kiki, let's not make her more uncomfortable."
Anna said as she sighed at her while Willow nods along. "Bu-" Willow glared at her that made her close her mouth, her words that remain unsaid was hold back. "Let's get going, see you tomorrow MC!" Anna said, waving their goodbyes while Willow drags Kiki away, she seemed to winked at her which made your cheeks tainted a bit.
And then, he saw a man that he knew so well, the CEO of LFG and the one who also funds his institute for experimental purposes, Victor.
"What are you smiling at?" Victor asked, while you just smiled with him so sweetly. Lucien felt another pang on his chest, that smile of yours, he thought it for him and him only, but no...
"Nothing~" You said to him in a sing-sung voice, while he mumbled a coherent dummy but nonetheless, there was tiny smile that appeared on his face. "Did you just smile?" you asked, your eyes widening a bit from the scene you just beholden. "No i didn't, you are just seeing things, let's go." you frown a bit for him dodging the question but you decided to let it be for now.
Lucien came walking towards the both of you, which made you whipped your head to see him.
"Lucien, what are you doing here?"
You asked, not expecting to see him coming as for Victor, he seemed to hold a frown on his face, not noticing the tension between the two.
"I thought that i just drop by and surprise you but it seems that the both of you are going somewhere." Then, he looked over the joined hands between you and him, which made your cheeks flare a bit more while he just smiled at you, those wishes that he had a while back in his office, were crushed.
"We're going to go now." Victor said, his grip on your hands became a bit tighter but you gave him a look that made him soften his grasp on you.
"I wish you both happiness and have fun to wherever you are going." You noticed that there was something wrong with his smile, it almost looked like it was fake but it must be you seeing things and smiled back at him.
"Thank you." And with that, the both of you walked, planning to go to Souvenir for your reward has been waiting there while Lucien just stood there.
Watching the only color that painted his life of you being the artist, fade away to his life, his rainbow that brought happiness to his life as he will never forget that smile you have often showed to him, everything would never be the same again but this was for your own good, for he will treat you better than he is.
Since he is actual definition of "danger", for he will now always watch you afar and support it, for the sake of your own joy and peace
