On Android
With the release of Android 12, Google began allowing users to delete their ad ID permanently. On devices that have this feature enabled, you can open the Settings app and navigate to Privacy > Ads. Tap “Delete advertising ID,” then tap it again on the next page to confirm. This will prevent any app on your phone from accessing it in the future.
On iOS
To see which apps you have previously granted access to, go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking. You can set the “Allow apps to Request to Track” switch to the “off” position (the slider is to the left and the background is gray). This will prevent apps from asking to track in the future. If you have granted apps permission to track you in the past, this will prompt you to ask those apps to stop tracking as well. You also have the option to grant or revoke tracking access on a per-app basis.
Apple has its own targeted advertising system, separate from the third-party tracking it enables with IDFA. To disable it, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising. Set the “Personalized Ads” switch to the “off” position to disable Apple’s ad targeting.

Collection of paintings created on Steck's Tapeats/Kanab Creek Route at Grand Canyon, simultaneously one of the most rugged and rewarding routes I've done. Shoutout to my buddy for patiently waiting for me to finish between the chossy death scrambles, raft hitchhiking, rock hopping, and slot canyon climbing.

The removal of seating is one of the primary ways capitalists turn public spaces into places of consumption, rather than socialization, play, relaxation, reflection, etc. By leaving no spaces for people to simply sit and exist, we’re forced to buy things to fill our time instead
It seems simple and insignificant, but reintroducing seating can be a radical act of reappropriation. Plus, they can be a place for rough sleepers, or make bus stops more comfortable, and open people’s eyes to the potential of direct action - it’s your community, and no one should be able to stop you from improving it
And, it’s free! Pallets are easy to find, building this takes like 15 minutes tops with a friend, and all you’d need to buy is maybe some nails. Easy praxis!
I would LOVE to see benches in more places!!! I have nerve damage in my ankle, and other chronic pain in my lower back/legs that make it really hard for me to go anywhere by foot (despite the fact that I love going for walks) A good walk can quickly become infuriating when I NEED to sit down and cannot find one /anywhere/ The most recent example of this is when I went to PA to visit my partner for Christmas. We took a walk down town to visit his favorite game shop and get some tacos, and half way through the trip I REALLY needed to sit down. I think we walked for about 20 minutes before we were able to find /anywhere/ for us to sit down.
I dont want to have to sit on the ground everytime I need a break, but I’ve done it, and gotten a ton of nasty stares.
We should really start doing this.! I think it would be a lovely idea for everyone, even if they aren’t like me and just want a place to sit to people watch or wait for the bus
it was a hard and fun job
and im loving the end result
do note that you are probably gonna fuck up a board or five when doing this, especially if you’re unexperienced with crowbarring, so prepare multiple pallets so you dont run out of parts
If you're in the US, now is a great time to talk to the young people in your life about the US military:
The recruiter is not your friend. The military employs child psychologists to learn how to make you think the recruiter is your friend.
The recruiter is allowed to lie to you and makes more money if they do.
The recruiter is paid a commission to groom children into cannon fodder.
The recruiter will tell you you're special and will go into special smart soldier programs instead of combat. They're lying.
The recruiter may tell you they can tell if someone can get PTSD or not and only recruit people like you, who won't. They're lying.
The recruiter may tell you you'll be too busy attending free college (!!) to go overseas. They're lying.
The recruiter may ask what countries you want to travel to and promise you bougie placements on military bases in those countries. They're lying.
Even "It's just four years!" is a lie - the government is allowed to hold you past your enlistment period with a stop-loss order.
The recruiter actually has zero power to decide anything that happens to you after you enlist and they more importantly don't care what happens to you.
If you enlist, you will be brainwashed to make you willing to do things to other humans that you would never be willing to do today.
You will be ordered to do things that will kill children. And you'll do them.
The military is not the only way or even the best way for you to go to college or start a career.
Military brainwashing will actually make you into a terrible university student because it degrades your ability to think critically and question your sources.
Having PTSD and/or a TBI will make it harder to be a student and keep a job.
Veterans' benefits suck these days.
Being a veteran drastically increases your risk of homelessness, suicide, alcohol and drug dependence, prison time, and becoming an abuser to your loved ones.
The military will expose you to chemicals that will drastically increase your chances of developing cancer.
The military will withhold information about your rights to conscientiously object after enlisting.
A lot can change in four years.
All of this!
If you want an organization who WILL tell you the truth about your rights to conscientiously object, how to legally get out of the DEP (Delayed Entry Program) or about any of your other rights in the military (whether you’re enlisted, thinking about enlisting, or a family member or friend of someone enlisted (or thinking about enlisting)), who will do it confidentially & for free, you want the
GI Rights Hotline

Even if all the person you're speaking to cares about is the money, the money sucks.
Minimum wage in California just went up to $16.90. You need to be rank E4 or be E3 with at least 3 years of service before you're making more than the CA minimum wage in the military.
You will literally get better pay and benefits working at a costco. (And that's not even accounting for the fact that the military isn't a 40 hour work week, your entire life is on the clock)
I cannot emphasize this enough, if you're a desperate young queer person you will make better money, get better healthcare, and have more affordable options for school if you move to California, get a job at costco, live with roommates, and go to community college than you will have if you join the US military.
fall forest spirits.
