Eve's eyebrows furrowed at the question. He knew that he had no reason to be upset, that petty feelings like jealousy of all things wouldn't get him anywhere, yet he couldn't shake the frustration that seemed to fester deep inside. He wanted to talk to Rachel, to get to know her like he'd done so many others, but the look she gave him reminded him too much of himself. Fox looked at her the same way he used to look at him. Rationally, they're both victims here. Both of them were stuck in the same situation. Picking favorites was never a concern for Eve, because in his mind, he'd always be his favorite.
The way Fox looked at him nowadays, though, made him think that he was soon to be pushed from that spot. Rachel was a better fit for him anyway it seemed. Eve's expression shifted into the pouty face he'd started to wear more often lately.
"Just not feeling great.."
[Rachel looked at him for a moment, the paranoid thoughts taking control of her mind yet again. "No no don't do it!" "You're going to die!" "What if he-" "Are they jealous enough to kill?"]
[That one last phrase always echoed inside the girl's head, she feared that one phrase the most. Would they kill her? They surely can, but right now... is there a reason to fear the other pets? To fear Eve?]
[Not really, he was nice to her when they met, so she shouldn't have a reason to feel this way, right?]
"I... made some coffee... for you"
[She held the cup of coffee that she prepared more visible for him]
"Thank you for... the other day"
[The girl gave him an awkward smile as she offered the hot drink]
