ToMakeAm-ENDs

After a while thinking about this, I've decided that I probably won't be making ToMakeAmends anymore. Sometimes you fall out of love with certain projects, and that's been kind of the case with this one.

I feel like I've kind of been losing the drive that has made me want to make it. I like filmmaking, and I think ToMakeAmends started off pretty good, I still look back on Act 1 very fondly.

Without getting into details, a lot of Act 2 and Act 3 were born out of me wanting an escape from a really bad situation that was going on in my personal life, it was essentially a coping mechanism. I would make as many videos whenever I could, because if I was out recording then I wouldn't have to deal with any of the nasty shit that was happening at home.

A lot of the reason as to why I want to stop making it stems from this. I feel like whenever I work on ToMakeAmends nowadays I enter the same headspace as I was back then, and that headspace sucks, it's self-destructive and depressing, and I don't like being reminded of it.

Of course there are other gripes I have, like I don't really think Acts 2 and 3 were very good, because when you're using your story-based webseries as a coping mechanism, you kinda forget how to write a story that makes sense and is coherent. (Although there were people who enjoyed it, and hey, that's great!)

I'm really really sorry if this disappoints anyone, I've talked to people before who love ToMakeAmends and have gotten really invested, and it hurts to let them down like this, I just can't keep making something I don't enjoy making.

However ToMakeAmends ended is up to you. Canonically, I'll just say that The Puppeteer's plans worked, and Lucas got set free as was implied by the latest video, "Keys." But really, whatever's canon is up to your imagination.

I'm not done with making stuff in The Slenderverse, if anyone thinks that. The Puppeteer will have a few appearances in some upcoming collaborations, and I do have a new series that I'm developing called TRACKS, which will have a very similar feel to early ToMakeAmends with Act 1, as well as the chaotic, mixed media nature of Act 3. It'll be out eventually, it's hard to tell when you're gonna finish these kinds of things.

before i witnessed chapter 5's weird route i didn't even think about it that much

it didn't even matter

but now i don't think i can even look at this game the same way i did 8 years ago

and yet somehow Noelle found a way to break the game

through you and one word

PROCEED

because video games have boundaries

boundaries that are not meant to be broken

and upon realizing that you are able to break those boundaries

the first thing she askes of you is to see the other side of the lake

the other side is most likely does not exist within the boundaires of this video game

and thus when the both of you start PROCEEDING

the game breaks entirely

sounds become glitchy and the whole lake slowly becomes monochrome

because this is not meant to happen at all in the confines of the video game

and then the chapter just ends on basically the biggest cliffhanger like ever

and ok yes i suppose chapter one had all the gaster shit with the vessel maker at the beginning and gaster basically sending out the chapter one demo being named a survey program or whatever but like

who the actual fuck could've predicted this from toby like holy shit

you can tell from how long this tumblr post is that this like i dunno 5 minute long sequence drove me insane and came to that stupid "hErP dERp tHeiR iN a VodDy GAm"

but like come the fuck on man
