hello :)

i am a ball jointed doll hobbyist who enjoys sewing for, photographing, and painting dolls :) i use dolls to shell my characters, which i may be posting drawings of as well. i hope that you can find my blog useful!

Sunny window

I finally got everything to scan the last roll of film I shot. It was incredibly expired Fuji Superia 100 (RIP fuji films) so tricky ISO and unknown quality but with the help of a light meter, I got most shots to come out fine and the film had not aged too bad, either. Too bad I just played it safe with some random snaps because most doll photos on the roll were just not interesting lol (but I do like this one).

Lounging in Lavender

What a remarkable flower lavender is - gloriously purple, with a calming scent that persists even after you dry it...though I'm a creature of the now, so I prefer rolling around in the patches I find to enjoy their present scent rather than gathering any for the future.

Long Shot WTB

Since there's only one doll left on my wishlist, I thought I'd cast the net once more. I know they're rare and tumblr isn't the hot spot for bjds anymore, but it never hurts to try.

I am looking for an Angel Region Present/Romantic Ren, the version of Ren with the half-closed eyes.

I don't care if it's the original release or the more recent Soom re-release, either is fine. I don't care if it's just the head. I don't care if it's damaged, yellowed, has a damaged faceup or no faceup. Honestly condition is not an issue so long as it's not been modded too much (it still has to have the original facial features).

I'm hesitant to put down an exact dollar amount here, but I am more than willing to pay fairly. I've been looking for this doll for almost two decades. If you have one you're willing to sell, or even any leads on one for sale, please please let me know!

Weight 3 yarn, and size 4.5mm hook. Goes onto a 1/4 bjd head with some stretching

Then I brushed it all over with a flea comb to fluff it up :3

gambled on secondhand bjd roulette again and didn't fare too well

this To.M was sold as a Mano, he's been dyed and has an undisclosed chunk out of his nose tip

might just save this post as a draft and update it after cleaning. see if I can restore him at all.

non acetone nail polish remover strips the dye immediately.

it is the exact same brand I've used half a dozen times with zero issues, but this time there is white hazing (similar to my tan Half Elf after I had to use acetone to take off a faceup, but way worse on poor To.M)

and then I boiled him just to see if it might help the gouge on his nose. but no luck at all. it appears to be an actual slice into his nose and not just a dent that would pop out. :((((

did some gentle sanding on the gouge. such a terrible prominent place to have to sand tan resin :((( I'm fairly upset over it but still optimistic for the restoration

I got Novus plastic polish to try next 🤞

to be clear, only his nose tip is sanded -- all the other white areas happened when I stripped the dye.

I had such huge hopes for the Novus 1 & 2 but it has not cleared up the white hazing sufficiently for me. It did really help the sanded area! But not the hazing from stripping.

I'm really not sure what to try next. Mineral oil I suppose? I have to stop here for now because of busy rl. But I am grumpy about it.

A few quick shots of the opalite cabochons I got from etsy to use as doll eyes, worn by my Bobobie Weylin, Link. (decided to keep that wig, btw) Gettin’ all Fierce Deity up in here!

Kinda glad those 12mm opalite sphere sold out now, or I would never have found these–and they work perfectly! I think the spheres would have been too small, actually.

I saw her for sale on the market and I knew I wanted a friend for Lucy. So I bought her! She's a bit hard to find clothes for, but thankfully, she came with a few dresses made by her original owner. I might have to do some sewing in the future...

Arthur is her dad, and she's now part of the fox family.

A tiny doll I fell in love with at LDoll 2018 (and so did Fáelán), and when my friend sold her shortly after, I grabbed her immediately!

She has been adopted by Eva an Fáelán immediately

(I still want to make a baby carrier for Fáelán xD)

I made her a new wig a while back, and one day I might bring myself to repaint her.
