“that’s okay. it happens.” the blonde responds, smiling at sage. usually, ordering textbooks was the last thing in people’s minds, and with bootcamp keeping them all busy, she can’t blame the blonde. “nah, it’s nothing.” skylar assured her, “really? i mean, i might! i need a fun class, so i don’t see why not. is it an intro?” she asks, not sure about the level. “take it one semester at a time. just focus on doing well in these classes, and don’t worry about what you’ll take next. i mean, you can only study so much, right?”
“i think so. it let me register it with no issue.” she shrugs. she wasn’t sure if she’d taken other classes before, though. she’d have to see her list (yes she had a list of everything she absolutely had to take, what to avoid and the classes she already took). “but it’s cool, i mean. it’s like... learning a party trick for a grade. its pretty cool. and you get to hear gossip?!” she joked with a little scoff. “yeah, you’re right. i guess i’m just an overachiever all around, but that’s what it’s kind of expected here, right?”
estheralonsos:
“well, you are not a barbie doll, sage. hopefully you only dress up and do your makeup when you want to and because you want to, not because you feel like you have to.” esther’s a snob, but she’s not unkind, and she also doesn’t put so much effort into her appearance to impress others. she does it because it’s a sense of control when she controls so little about her life. “what sorts of movies do you like?” she’s always happy for recommendations, not one to have a favorite genre herself, and she almost always enjoys any movie she watches. she doesn’t look at them critically, finding most of them to be just mindless entertainment. she’s oblivious, of course, to how much of an impact this conversation is having on sage, but she can sense the emotions in the other girl, and so her smile is kind and gentle, not wanting to make her uncomfortable about feeling something. “maybe, surely there’s room for another club at gallagher. i think people do not give themselves enough credit. sure, some people take their self confidence too far, but the opposite end of the spectrum is too much self hatred.” that’s one thing esther has never done, is hate herself. she certainly doesn’t ever intend to start. “that’s the spirit,” she says with a laugh when sage includes herself in the compliment, giving the mirror a sultry look for a moment to admire her own makeup skills. “i would say so. it’s a shame it’s so cold. all this effort into an outfit and i just have to wear a coat.”
“i mean, sometimes. i wouldn’t be able to show up to a gala with no makeup. or in jeans. when it’s a gala.” and she did love dressing up. she liked compliments when she felt like she had worked for them, because that’s what she was mainly used to. people noticing her when she wanted to be noticed. it was a superpower, really. it worked for spyhood. “i love all movies. give me romcoms, give me old slashers– i love those so much, give me all the artsy wes anderson films, and god... paul thomas anderson too. i really love movies.” she laughed. she was an addict almost, and the embarrassing amount of movies on her netflix list was proof. “we can watch any movies together when we’re back on campus. i’d love someone to talk about them. it’s boring when you want to say anything and then nobody has seen the movie you’re talking about.” it happened way too often. “yeah, it’s... kind of easier though. to hate yourself, i guess.” she shrugged. it shouldn’t, and she shouldn’t be saying it so easy, but it was just the truth. she would be terrified of being full of herself. not like esther. she had the perfect amount of confidence that inspired others to do the same. she needed that. she rolls her eyes because the compliment feels weird on her mouth, but she could get used to it. “come on. it’s a great coat. and we can always find a nice place to hang out indoors so we can get it all off. show it all off.”
deniisoviich:
“You’ll be the first to know!” Denis mentioned happily. It’s his new goal. “I just got an idea. I’m going to ask Kiki, if she’ll take pictures of me, wearing these sets, so we can have something to show Zendaya and her brothers.” He clapped his hands together. “Okay, I gotta go see where I can buy a two piece and tres fashion! And find Kiki.” He practically jumped to his feet. “But I’m going to keep you updated!”
“that’s a lot of excitment.” she pointed out, because although she had been the one with the idea, well, she would be a little more shy about posting photos like that, let alone being a man. but there need to be more guys like denis, willing to do this for the female gaze. “yes. definitely do that. and.... please be careful with who you send your photos too. there’s a lot of bad people out there.”
marifervalv:
“I wasn’t going to directly go there but, yeah, murder is one way of disappearing.”
“i don’t think that’s what the class means to teach you, but... i mean, this is spy school after all.” she laughed. “though i believe that’s more of a threat elimination thing.”

“ OOF — okay, you win this one. ” because his mom was a handful to live with too but if he lived with his grandmother as well he probably wouldn’t have lived this long. “ what about your dad ? ” maybe an invasive question, she might not even have a dad, but jae is too curious to not ask. “ it’s true, and they’ve lived so long, they know so much. too much. ” he says like there’s a fear struck within him before he lets out a small laugh. “ it’s gotta be something nice, like an actual meal — you like korean food ? ″ he will high key judge her if she doesn’t.
“yeah, he wasn’t around while i was growing up,” she said without a pang of guilt or any kind of emotion. “i met him literally last summer, and she still doesn’t know i did.” why was she suddenly talking about it so casually, as if it weren’t something so personal. “i think you get magic powers as you age. like mind reading or something.” she laughs. “nice? okay- uh– i’ve never had it. i could use a first time.”
oofsebastian:
JUST SHRUGS, he has moved, a little, but not really. he’s quite enjoying being all isolated in their little room, avoiding and ignoring the world, it’s basically self care. plus his roommates are mostly understanding about it, and good at distracting him, too. “ wha— you’ve seen it ! ” seb defends himself but more than welcomes her next to him. “ yeah, legit like two seconds ago, want me to go back ? ” because it was quite a good butt.
“so what if i’ve seen it– i was watching it with you...” she pouted, as she got comfortable next to seb. she liked feeling comfortable with her roommates to this degree. it was comforting, since not even with her sisters she felt this close. “duh! let me see–” and she’s the one to go back to the very beggining of the scene, which made her giddy and hold herself together quite physically. “they did such a good job.”
skylarsfm:
“i know. i always order them online because you never know how long it’s going to take. i don’t want to waste time waiting or fighting with anyone at the library.” skylar jokes, though it’s probably true – going into the library the first week of the semester was a wild ride. “i don’t mind putting up with you. didn’t we have a class together last year? that went pretty well.” she exclaims, wiggling her brows teasingly. “sounds fun. what’s your favourite so far?” skylar asks. “oh, don’t be like that. you’d have to take them eventually, right? you can do this.”
“i usually bring them from home, but i didn’t remember it this time around when i was there,” she rolled her eyes. her mind was too busy mourning a close friend then to think about even going back to school, but here she was. “that’s sweet of you.” and it wasn’t like she was ever told otherwise, but more about what she thought of herself. “definitely the bartending one. it’s not like any other class i’ve ever taken. i’m amused it even exists as a class. you should take it if you haven’t.” she assured. “i mean, i guess. i just feel like i have three more semesters left, and i won’t have the time to take as many classes as i want to take.”
asher-west:
“I was not expecting to be having this much fun. Normally I hate these events, but maybe that’s just the formal ones.” He shrugs. “You having fun? Wait, did you do the quiz? Who’d you get?” // @burnthesagc
“hate is a very strong word,” she pointed out, because she didn’t think anyone could actually hate these events (unless there was some traumatic event happening, which sadly wasn’t rare in gallagher). “okay, fair– but you say that, as if you didn’t look stunning at every formal,” she teased. “i am! yes! i’m with jerome, he’s a great dancer. got me all tired already. and you? are you here with someone?”

SEB SKIPPED HIS CLASSES today since he wasn’t feeling it after everything with aylin, couldn’t quite face her in their PE 101 class. can’t quite face anyone, but his roommates are an exception given he literally can’t kick them out. still, he’s a bit excited when sage walks in despite basically being in the same position she left him in however many hours prior. “ oh, perfect timing, they’ve just started fucking. ” seb points to the screen that he’s been binging bridgerton on.
@burnthesagc
“you’re still there?” she asked as soon as she opened the door, and the judging would go on had he not mentioned her favorite couple at the moment, aka daphne and simon. and fucking? “oh my god– you kept on watching without me, you jerk?!” she half joked as she dropped her stuff and jumped into bed with seb. “have we seen his butt yet?” she was asking the real questions here.
oofjaemin:
“ VERY TOUGH — i have two sisters. ” he says like he’s wounded from the fact alone, though eden and sienna were probably the best set he could have. “ grandmothers do have a way about them. ” he agrees with a small nod. “ though mine definitely scares me sometimes. ” he laughs, shaking his head. “ that’s not dinner, but if that’s what you want … ” jae trails off with a shrug.
“ow– poor baby,” she pouted teasingly. “try living in a house with two sisters, my mother and grandmother. now that’s the nightmare.” she let out a little laugh. “i think that comes with the grandma role too. they have to be scary. assert dominance.” because households were ruled by them. no matter how many men were alive. it was always the grandma with the big woman pants. “not dinner? alright... show me then, what’s dinner for you?”
jrzimmerman:
If there was one thing he was going to do, it was have a good time. Which included his date’s own needs into the picture. It was a fun day, both because of the brunch and because of Sage. When the two’s dancing came to an end, he smiled over at her. “Yeah, I think that I might need something to eat after all of that dancing.”
“i feel like i just burnt an entire slice of cake, so i might as well eat two. to compensate.” she grinned, reaching for a slice and offering one to jerome as well. “sorry– unless you want something else. i can eat three slices.” she shrugged, speaking as if she was bragging about it.
oofcori:
“ SCHOOL IS FINE — though i hate the start of a semester because it is boring. ” she agrees with a small nod. “ OH ! and i slept with aidan, ” she remembers quickly, adding it in. “ — i kind of hope nat knows about it, too, does that make me a bitch ? ” cori wonders, she doesn’t think so, purely because she thinks nat deserves it. “ but sage, you could meet your SOULMATE. ” cori grins, brows lifting almost teasingly but she hopes it happens. “ ugh, so true, though i say go with heels anyway … maybe we need to invent some adjustable heels. ”
Sage raised her eyebrows. She wasn’t surprised, it was amusement however, because after all this time being friends with Cori, she still had no idea how the brunette did it. Sure, she was gorgeous, sure, she was outspoken and amazing, but... she hadn’t cracked the code. “oh– was he with nat still?” She tilted her head. For somebody who loved gossip as much as Sage, she rarely found out about actual Gallagher gossip. And perhaps it was for the best. “I mean... no– yes? I don’t know.” She couldn’t tell. Cori had always been single, so if anything Aidan would be the bitch? Maybe? She’d rather not think about that. “I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen. I just want to have a good friend and somebody to dance with that’s not already taken.” Because all the good ones always were. “What? Like retractable heels? Like the handles suitcases?”
estheralonsos:
“you’d better,” esther said with a tone of mock sternness, but she did actually want to know how sage did, feeling like she could live a bit through her friends and ricky when they filled her in on how missions went. “maybe, maybe not. part of it is privilege. i’ve always had the money to explore fashion, but i always tell people that money can’t buy taste, and i like to think i do have taste.” she didn’t just think that, she knew it. “that’s not a bad thing. what matters most is comfort and taking care of yourself. i appreciate you wanting to explore it with me, though. you’ll have to introduce me to one of your hobbies.” if esther decided sage was trustworthy enough, she would even consider showing the other girl the sketches she did in secret of fashion lines she didn’t believe she could ever design or create. “of course it counts.” sage seemed determined to diminish herself, and esther could understand that, but surely she had to believe in herself a little bit. “there’s no such thing as plain,” esther said, wrinkling her nose as if it was a dirty word. “there are people who use their shine to diminish others, and the people who allow them to do so. you shouldn’t ever let anyone do that.” she carried herself with poise and confidence because she was at a disadvantage everyday of her life, and she refused to let anyone assume themselves to be better than her, and she thought anyone should have that attitude. “have you met my brother? self confidence runs in the family. maybe we should teach an alonso masterclass on it.” at least it seemed like sage was taking some of her advice to heart, because of course esther thought she was right, she almost always believed herself to be correct. “nice words are free to give so no harm in accepting them.”
sage sat on her corner to keep on watching her, considering doing something with her hair in that moment: maybe a braid or a couple– she could do that much, although those were styles she wore to bed only. “i mean, i kinda had the money too, but not the interest. you should see my sisters’ closets though. they’d understand what you’re talking about all the time, but me? i guess i didn’t get that from them. they’ve never let me be out of style, though.” it was simple, but she had never gotten a dirty look in her life. she knew how to mix colors and knew what would favor her shape, but she never took many risks either. she was used to be a wallflower and she felt comfortable that way. and perhaps it was her biggest issue. that she rarely stepped out of her little box. “i don’t have many hobbies. i really like movies and gossip magazines– you know, the ones you see at the check out area at the store? big guilty pleasure,” she laughed. she also enjoyed some sports, even if she wasn’t good at them, and meditation was something she had gotten into in the past few months. it kept her calm and kept the stress on normal levels. she could show her that for sure. her words came to her heart in a way she had never heard of. she almost wished her mother had taught her lessons like that when she was younger, instead of pressuring her with the kind of girl she should be or comparing her to the rest of the blythe girls back in history.
she smiled, trying not to get emotional, but something about people outshining her got the best of her and felt her eyes well up with tears for a second there. sage looked down for a moment to hide it and looked back up with a smile. “i’d take that class. sign me in. self confidence club, perhaps?” she broke into a little giggle, because it sounded dumb, and yet, she would not skip a single session. she’d love to be more open and confident, and feel pretty and... enough. mainly enough. “okay, so... they’re mine. we look hot.” she grinned, coming closer to the mirror so they were both in frame. “are we ready then?”
marifervalv:
“It would appear so.” Marifer laughs, she’s never thought of herself as an overachiever, maybe others would describe her that way but she’d never do so herself. “I watch a lot of horror movies.” She explains as if this makes perfect sense. “So, I think I would simply be imagining crazy scenarios happening.”
“are we thinking murder? because that surely is one way to disappear,” she laughed softly, unsure if she should even make it anything funny.
