10 Flaws to Give Your Perfect Characters to Make Them Human
If you're tired of the usual vices like arrogance or impatience, here are some unique (or at least less basic) character flaws to give your perfect characters:
Pathological Altruism
A character so obsessed with helping others that they end up doing more harm than good. Their inability to let others grow or face consequences creates tension.
2. Moral Narcissism
A character who sees themselves as morally superior to others, constantly justifying selfish or harmful actions because they believe they have the moral high ground.
3. Chronic Self-Sabotage
A character who intentionally undermines their own success, perhaps due to deep-seated feelings of unworthiness, pushing them into frustrating, cyclical failures.
4. Emotional Numbness
Rather than feeling too much, this character feels too little. Their lack of emotional response to critical moments creates isolation and makes it difficult for them to connect with others.
5. Fixation on Legacy
This character is obsessed with how they’ll be remembered after death, often sacrificing present relationships and happiness for a future that’s uncertain.
6. Fear of Irrelevance
A character-driven by the fear that they no longer matter, constantly seeking validation or pursuing extreme measures to stay important in their social or professional circles.
7. Addiction to Novelty
Someone who needs constant newness in their life, whether it’s experiences, relationships, or goals. They may abandon projects, people, or causes once the excitement fades, leaving destruction in their wake.
8. Compulsive Truth-Telling
A character who refuses to lie, even in situations where a lie or omission would be the kinder or more pragmatic choice. This flaw causes unnecessary conflict and social alienation.
9. Over-Identification with Others' Pain
Instead of empathy, this character feels others' pain too intensely, to the point that they can’t function properly in their own life. They’re paralyzed by the suffering of others and fail to act effectively.
10. Reluctant Power
A character who fears their own strength, talent, or influence and is constantly trying to shrink themselves to avoid the responsibility or consequences of wielding it.

🕊️Hello🇵🇸
I am Noor from Gaza, a mother of three children. Unfortunately, our home was completely destroyed in the recent war, and my husband sustained a shoulder injury. We have lost everything we had, and we are now in urgent need of support and assistance.
I kindly request your help in these difficult times, whether by sharing my story or by making a donation to us. Any small support can make a significant difference in our lives. Thank you for any help you can provide, and I pray that your families remain safe from harm.
With sincere appreciation,

I'm curious. Reblog this if you know how to cook
I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.
Does anyone else remember a movie that was like The Little Mermaid but in our time (well, the 90s or early 2000) and no sea witch? The mermaid made a deal with her father so she could explore the human world but she had to find love in uh, a week or so, or he'd call her back into the sea forever.
The best bit is that she goes to the ground and makes friends with two girls who try to help her get a boyfriend but, in the end, she doesn't make it, so her father casts a spell to drag her back to the sea, hence she and the two friends have this very dramatic scene holding hands in a whirlpool and "I'll never forget you, I love you" "We love you too" which, obviously, lead the father to admit defeat because love is love, he didn't specify she had to get a boy, only prove that humans were capable of good feelings towards merfolk.
So, I'd like to rewatch it, does anyone know the title?
Y'know, the Descendants subreddit can be a pain, especially when it comes to Audrey and toxic positivity if someone has a slight criticism of something: hence Rise of Red.
I've seen a lot of Ben & Audrey hate on there lately.
Do I hate descendants? Yes. Do I love Descendants? Of course
Do you LIKE Descendants doe?
Now remember kids, Shrek 2 is a much better representation of the morality of love spells than Descendants.
Here’s the full version inspired by Yuri Klapouh’s “Lilith and Eve”. Happy Lesbian Visibility Week!!
Okay the Descendants Musical's version of Ways to be Wicked is a total upgrade imo

Which character do you ship most with Mal?
Ben
Evie

Please pick what's most interesting for you, not what you think would make the healthiest couple.
Personally I ship her with Chad. Chal. Mad.
I am officially announcing my new Descendants ship: Mal Bertha x Chad Charming. They deserve each other.
I recognize this was made from a place of not liking either but I’m reblogging this anyway because oh my GOD that sounds like comedy gold.
And they say nothing good can come from hate.
LoveSpell!Ben = Chad
Idk if I'm thinking too much into it, but I'm starting to suspect that an intentional part of the Descendants writing is that when Ben is under the love spell, he takes on a persona that is weirdly similar to Chad.
Firstly, in movie 1, Audrey and Evie can be seen as sort of parallels.
A girl who is obsessed with the way she looks. She has her heart set on being with a guy she has feelings for who is an Auradon prince. Said prince does show interest in her, but then dismisses her for another girl, hurting them.
This... Description can literally be applied to either Evie or Audrey. They are both vain, materialistic, and superficial. Both are attracted to a Auradon prince's royal blood (I know Audrey is revealed to have had genuine feelings for Ben, but she was definitely attracted to him being a royal as well as his general personality, based on how she excitedly tells the core four he's "soon to be king!!", plus her bragging about how their "royal blood goes back hundreds of years"). They get close to the guy, only to then be dismissed for another girl, Mal in Audrey's case and Audrey herself in Evie's case.
The difference is, of course, Chad willingly chose to hurt Evie like this, while Ben was controlled by the love spell to do so. But nonetheless, what Chad ends up being for Evie is exactly what Ben ends up being for Audrey too.
Also it's revealed in School of Secrets that Chad dated multiple girls at the same time. Basically he was a serial cheater.
In D2, Ben agrees to go to the cotillion with Mal, but then ends up taking Uma instead when he's under her spell. Sounds very similar to Chad's behaviour doesn't it?
I just wonder if it was intentional that when Ben is spelled he acts like Chad.
Oh damn, I really like this connection! I never thought of it this way but it's kinda true.
Thanks!
I do wonder if it's intentional. If Chad is sort of a mirror of what Ben becomes when he's spelled and Audrey and Evie are VK/AK versions of each other.
took the words right out of my mouth
Is it possible that Chad is kinda like... Supposed to show how Ben looks from Audrey's pov perhaps? Her not knowing about the spell and all that. Just a thought I had now.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Here's your very own issue of Royal Disget Issue!
Yup, this is absolutely how Auradon would respond to him/me. Good work once again! :)
