covid times part 1 - inward dive
covid times part 2 - revenge of fear remember the goal is not to change people’s minds (commendable but not in our power). the goal is to change the system, while acknowledging the failings of men.

things can move you when you see them and can move you when you make them
Choosing to look deeper
Another thing I've learned is that we are extremely brittle about this practice, as a society. Our thinking about keeping logs tends to be black & white (a common sign of lack of education on the matter) and we hesitate or think in terms like "OCD" when people around us really leverage this practice[1]. IMO this is really unfortunate.
I noticed this little gem in a discussion about the hobby of radio operating. I wonder, does thinking things in black & white correlate with ignorance on a topic?
Distilling to this vs that implies that the subject is already understood and ready for judgement. But in reality, what subject doesn't have nuances within it? To truly care about the subject, don't you need to dive into the details?
Are there areas in your life have you deliberately or naturally arrived at a "black & white" view? Does that serve you? Like the above, perhaps the discipline of log taking could add richness and value to your life, something you might not even consider because of an adopted viewpoint that it might be "OCD" to do so.
What would it be like to let yourself choose to look deeper?

Well put. I sometimes feel I'm playing a role, Asian-American Man. And that role gives one an opportunity to see both sexism and racism very clearly from this unique perspective.

Discovered I missed Son Lux and this amazing album back in 2009. Better late than never, I love this!
I won’t be watching this Orientalist garbage, and I hope you won’t either. I want to see Asian-Americans leading Asian stories in Hollywood.
... No one should ever be locked away simply because they share the same race, ethnicity, or religion as a spy or terrorist. If that principle was not learned from the internment of Japanese Americans, then these are very dangerous times for our democracy.
