Independent Living Support Sheltered Housing Service

Leicester City Council funds six housing associations to provide support services to residents living in 31 non-council sheltered housing schemes.  These services support people who, in most cases, do not meet the council’s threshold for care and support. We call it the Independent Living Support (ILS) Sheltered Support Service.

The ILS Sheltered Support Service is not something that we are required to fund by law. We propose to end the funding and we would like your views on that.

We would also like to hear your ideas for how the support might continue without our funding.

English language requirements for public sector workers

Требования к уровню английского языка при найме на работу, связанную с оказанием услуг населению на государственном и около государственном уровне в Великобритании.

В соответствии с частью 7 Иммиграционного Акта 2016 года, который ступил в силу 21 ноября 2016 все работники органов публичной власти, которые напрямую взаимодействуют с населением, обязаны бегло говорить на английском.

Под эти критерии попадают все категории работников:

- постоянные и временные (permanent and fixed term),

- работающие по контракту (contractors),

- работники организаций, выполняющие подрядные работы для органов публичной власти (under a contract of employment with the contractor), даже когда сами они таковыми и не являются,

- самозанятые (self-employed) и

- работники агентств (agency temps),

- а также работающие по схеме совмещения работы с обучением (apprentices) в органах публичной власти или подрядной организации.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of a brief period of liberalism, economic and social reform and democratization of Czechoslovakia, known as the Prague Spring. In January 1968, a moderate, Alexander Dubček replaced his hard-line communist predecessor to become the Secretary of the Community Party in Czechoslovakia.
