She had just put on the third wedding dress option handed to her when her mind started going to places she didn't want it to. Thankfully, the person she would run to in times like that was sitting on the other side of the curtain. "I am going to ask you something and I need you to be honest with me. Like always.", she said as a heads up upon stepping out and approaching Barbie. "Everything has been going well lately and that gives me hope but sometimes, I still think about when the other shoe will drop. Does that make me crazy?" ( @barbiebraganca )

It was a long wait and while Luciana was excited to meet her nephew, there was a thought in her head that she could not silence. With the room being enveloped in silence, she figured that now would be a good time to start a different kind of conversation with her oldest brother. "Do you think we'll ever experience what Ale and Kseniya have?", she started off. "Do we even deserve to?" ( @giorxcci )

Summer 2026 - Pinhey Forest, Ottawa

the way up had been excruciating for ray, sitting beside luci the entire drive up, but unable to actually see her due to the blindfold tied tightly across his eyes thanks to his mother. several times throughout the drive he had muttered something about stupid traditions and nothing about today being traditional. still, he sat blinded throughout the ride, all the way up until his father had guided him down the path and gave him the okay to remove the blindfold. while his eyes adjusted to the light, ray carefully folded it and put it into his pocket. there weren't any decorations or over-sized speakers and the attendance was intimate, but that was how ray and luci wanted it. just the people closest to them - mostly family and bluetooth speaker and the song for luci to walk down the invisible isle queue up on spotify. his father had gotten ordained to perform the ceremony and they each had their witness to sign the marriage licence. afterwards the reception would just be at the ortega family home, catered by a local restaurant ray and luci had come to love.

when ray's mother started to play the song, his father gave him a gentle nudge, causing ray to instantly look up and to where luci was as she began walking towards him. once she reached him, ray took her hands in his own, beaming from ear to ear. "you look absolutely radiant," ray said, not caring enough to whisper. "you ready to do this? last chance to back out," he joked. (@lucianabxlla)

Following traditions was not on Luci's mind when she first started thinking about their wedding day, not when both she and Ray's relationship was the opposite of what was considered traditional in their world. Still, she decided to follow what Ray's parents constantly reminded them of from the moment she chose her wedding dress because after everything that they have been through, it was better to be safe than sorry, right? After everything that she has been through, it wasn't unlikely for her to think otherwise, that following traditions won't assure her of the happy ending that she's read about or seen in art but, for the first time in who knows how long, she had hope that things would work out this time around. And she had Ray to thank for that.

Maybe it was because her nerves kicking in again, maybe it was because of her excitement, or maybe it was because of both — whatever the reason was, the ride on the way to their wedding venue seemed like such a fast one for her. All she wanted to do when the car finally stopped was take her turn down the aisle and say I do. That might have been obvious to the onlookers who knew her well as her oldest brother walked her down the aisle. As expected, when she reached the end of it, a compliment and a joke was what he welcomed her with. "Careful, you might fall in love with me. I'm about to be a married woman.", she joked in response. "I've been ready for this since the moment you beat me to getting down on one knee. Are you?"

“Oh no.” She grimaced and immediately clamped her hand in front mouth. The vodka she had just swallowed wasn’t being cooperative. She, almost hysterically, looked around the room. Where was the toilet? Was the layout the same as her house’s? Was there a trash can? Oh God– She grabbed the first big glass she saw — it happened to be in someone’s hand and almost empty! She held it under her lips and tried to keep swallowing the saliva that kept building up at the back of her throat. “Sorry, I’m–” She spat into the glass. And again. “– going to need this…” The next thing that ended up in the glass was not a transparent liquid. ( @hshqstarters​ )

On her way to refilling a cup, a familiar voice entered her ears and she was a little surprised by the state that said voice’s owner was in. “Oh shit, I know that look.” She was going to look for what Leonor clearly needed but before she can get the chance, the other woman took the glass from her. “And I can see that. How much have you drank?”, she responded before kicking the trash bin her way. “I hold your hair up if you’re not done, or help you in the bathroom if you’re capable of walking there first.”

Another day, another Osmanoğlu to visit. She thought that today would be easier but that unfortunately was not the case. Still, that did not stop her from wanting to see Hafiz after what she found out. “I wasn’t sure if you wanted to drink or eat so I prepared for both cases. What should you give someone whose brother is in the hospital?, that was what was running through Luciana’s  mind as she got ready to pay Miray a visit and she could not come up with a good answer. She would have looked back on the time when she was in her friend’s shoes but that would help neither of them right now, so she settled for food that her friend would hopefully like. “How is he? And you - how are you?”, she asked while taking it out of the bag. ( @cmiray​ )

Before she can respond to that question, the little dog came running towards the source of the unfamiliar voice, causing Luci to laugh. “The answer is apparently today. Bud’s curiosity is really something else. Maybe he can be that. Where is Milo anyway?”

“I mean… there may be a few new people I’ve gotten to know. A few old ones as well.” She added with a cheeky grin. “Hmm… how about drinks back at my place? That way I can show you how I’ve decorated.”

“I’m going to need you to give me names and specify in what way you’ve gotten to know them exactly.” Her tone was a teasing one, her smile as well. “Noe’s sleeping at Ale’s tonight so I can say yes to that. Are you staying with anyone?”

One quick look away was all it took for her puppy to run towards the woman with a cat. He wasn’t barking at the cat, thankfully, even if it was his first time to see one. “Yes, he’s mine!”, she answered upon carrying him in her arms. “Sorry, he’s a newborn. Gets curious about almost everything he sees. How old is your cat?”

“I’ve come to respect that view now. I don’t share it but still. Hold on, it sounds like there’s a story behind that explanation. What is it?” Her eyebrow raised at him. “You can’t just spring those specific details on me and leave me hanging like that, unless you want me to do my own digging? I prefer to hear things from a primary source but I can do that.”
