The body hair revolution is not global.
This piece about the complexity in approach to feminist body hair on Middle Eastern women by Busra Erkara is so good and so real.
I’ve battled really hard against decades of the culturally indoctrinated view that my visible (way more visible that my non Middle Eastern friends’) body hair is bad and gross, especially in its non-whiteness. I wish I could I say I’ve overcome it, but I’m not even close. My armpits are currently pretty lush though.
