I wish there had been a point where a singular Winchester had to play gay for a case because sam (evil) would trick Dean into doing it. I say trick. What I mean is that Dean would go well I’m not doing it. And Sam would go. That’s fine I kind of figured. I’m secure enough in my masculinity to do it. And Dean would go. Wh. Hey. (edt: The rose is just symbolic btw (although I do think Cas would literally give him flowers). The point is that from Dean's perspective Cas is probably hiding a weapon, that's why Dean looks frozen and tense. Dean can't really comprehend what else a man would hold behind his back approaching him if not a weapon, what intention would anyone have towards him other than violence. But also that's artist's intention solely Cas also would literally give Dean a rose in the middle of a hunt he has his dense moments lmao)

my beef with people who categorize cas as christian or with christian tendencies is that the guy predates whatever christianity has got going on, frankly all human religion. this guy comes from a canon lobotomy war factory some of it just happens to coincide with whatever human religion has got going on and some of the angels and demons just happen to care about the stuff in all our books. idk, my interpretation of him is that he's far more interested in more anthropology related things than like the ten commandments or something. it just so happens that his garrison is filled with guys who like excuses to do untold violence, and some of their powers and magic are written down in said religious texts etc.
