Rotoscope animation project for class!
after layering all of my images on top of each other, i saw a bird and went from there.
the styles i chose were blacklight poster, comic, and digital glitch art
i expanded on the blacklight poster art by having the parrot be in the light and someone switch the lights off on it and then it say “u wish!” like u can't get rid of me hater!
This is a screen cap redraw of a panel from the hip hop family tree comics
I really liked the pose and the phrase in the image, i decided to use different hatch mark techniques for this piece to show different textures and shading.
We were given a figure to add perspective to and I decided to experiment with some lineless art since I focus on linework a lot in my pieces. I used harsher lines for the silhouette so that it stood out from the background. I blurred some of the background to show movement around the figure I focused on.
man to woman.
my face is the middle picture (because i had a mustache on in the picture) and thought this would be cool.
I took a Vincent Van Gogh painting and moved it through time. The first one is my remake, the second is moving to a different season to see what the same painting may have looked like. The last one is years into the future where the landscape has changed so much and is more dull in the background of some buildings. This is meant to differ from Van Gogh’s vibrant color scheme over time and look grungy.
Monsters created from real life.
The first monster used the chiaroscuro method where the monster is coming out from the darkness (making it spooky)
The second monster was inspired by horror comics/posters, adding a vintage affect with the noise texture
comic compilation of my previous works for this class.
It is about me being bored and traveling through different mediums as alternate universes for entertainment.
Mad scientist project.
I submitted a killer whale and had to combine it with other classmates’ work. The third image was created using content aware and although it didn't change the image into something completely new, I was able to add emotion to the creature with expressive thick lines in image 4.
It kinda looks like lapras from pokemon.
we were given a cartoon to redraw, the first image being a gesture drawing, the second being a more detailed photo to try and “copy” the image and the third being a distorted image.
i felt myself get more comfortable drawing the figure even though I did different methods. the third image I saw the face as a saturn-like planet because of the helmet and decided to make the body look more like movement since planets are pretty secluded from everything else.
Speed paint part 3. This is the image I chose to go full out on. It started out as a skeleton because I was inspired by halloween, and then I was assigned fire and superhero, so I turned the skeleton into Venom.
I did a scribbly texture for his body to add texture to separate him from the background. I used blue as a smokey fire to contrast the warm colors. I had a lot of fun making this piece.
speed paint part 2. these were 2 of the 3 images i chose to extend further on. my prompt was fire and superhero. the first 2 images I created a landscape from the directions and turned it into a lava world.
last 2 images i made an image that kinda reminded me of a pokemon. if i were to go further on this image I would have made it more of a melty texture and although pokemon are not considered superheroes, mine would have been a part of the good guys.
speed paint part 1, testing out different brushes, but were not chosen to complete.

first pic is line art of last pic
second is a reinterpretation of the figure into a statue (possibly historical)
third pic is inspired by the Gorillaz music video tranz
and the last pic is the original
