I love that this video is spreading around Twitter. It’s helping many people see how sincere and earnest Austin is.
All he cares about is how much he loves acting and, more importantly, respecting his late mom’s legacy. He wouldn’t have become an actor without her support. That’s why he’s so intense and hardworking.
Unlike many child actors with tragic stories of how their parents pressured them into acting, Austin has spoken on how his mom would play dress up with him and let his imagination wander. She took him to countless acting classes and auditions. This helped him overcome his intense shyness as a child and allowed him to express his repressed emotions.
If people watched more interviews by him, I think they would be surprised to find out that he was his mother’s primary caregiver before she passed away from cancer. He considered quitting acting because he thought he should dedicate himself to a more noble profession, such as a doctor or nurse.
Ultimately, he realized that he could keep his mother alive by making her dream for him come true. You can tell how much he misses her and that he wishes she could see how far he has come. He loves her so much.
