News people keep saying “Kung Flu” is racially charged. I might be naive and ignorant but I honestly see it as a pun of Kung fu. I’m not sure I understand how it’s racially charged. Is it because Kung fu comes from China and COVID-19 originated in China? I’ve seen people of all types joke about COVID this way, trying to make light of an awful situation.

I will happily stop using the Kung flu joke if it actually is a tasteless, racially charged whatever. I just want someone to explain it to me, because I really don’t understand.

I see it as extremely clever because it takes too into account that the virus originated in China and can kick your ass thoroughly and without mercy. Plus it’s a pun and puns are great.

I propose that we take all the statues and monuments and whatever public history stuff that is important to history but should NOT be prominently displayed (because that means you basically support what they stood for) and put them in some sort of museum called the Walk of Shame museum. That way you can learn who they were, why they had monuments and shit and also when they were removed and why they are not publicly displayed because they do not live up to American Values.

Tl:dr- preserves history, learn shit, doesn’t glorify bad people if done correctly.
