Socrates once said: "Beware the barrenness of a busy mind."
We often get so busy with life as our minds are always either tied to the past OR wander to what the future holds that we forget to STOP thinking about things that happened or not likely to happen and just BE PRESENT IN THE NOW. Most of us are living on autopilot and according to societal pressure without ever connecting to our present true self and spiritually; slaving away by being pulled back because of certain past traumas or pushed forward thinking of bills, mortgages and other payments for material or physical upgrades.
Please don't get me wrong, career & lifestyle advancement are great BUT conscious/mindful living and self spiritual enhancement are equally, sometimes even more important. To live consciously is the true significance of life, it is to LIVE, to cultivate awareness, to take control of your life in every aspect possible to break free from the chains of societal expectations and encourage emotional stability.
Living consciously does not mean an hour of sitting-in-silence meditation or a 6 months yoga programme, those can be examples that can guide you towards cultivation of awareness. Sometimes it can be as simple as paying attention to your breath, visiting the beach and listen to the sound of the waves, feel the sea breeze caress your cheek or even take time to eat/drink mindfully.
"Whatever the present contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Work with it, not against it." The Power of Now, Ekhart Tolle
I hope you have a pleasant week ahead, remember to take a moment to pause, listen to your body and give yourself some love, attention and kindness that you might not know you need it. Namaste.๐๐๏ธ
