GOSH okay yess sorry this took a while cuz I wanted to make a post with real evidence but here’s the original post

There’s actually way more going on here than I first thought when I was watching 4x21 so instead of an essay just have the screenshots

>using death/guilt over death as manipulation

>sam being strong enough/the only one strong enough

>emphasis on having to do unsavory things, to (in lucifer’s eyes) get the job done/do what’s right

>emphasis on justice

I don’t necessarily think this was intended to be canon, but given how lucifer is routinely shown donning a ‘woman in white’ role and mary is the original (+ subtextually implied to be a suitable vessel for him) it makes sense that that plus the routine abuse of mary’s image would overlap at some point.

Also it makes for some delicious angst :3
