Okay, i feel like people are missing this opportunity for Bill.
So apparently snakes can’t see stars (I don’t know if thats true). Which as we know when he possesses people, the eyes look like cat but also snake eyes. What if, as a head cannon, he lost the ability to see the star’s right after he destroyed his world?
He attempted without success to get others to see and believe him, to prove they’re real, to prove to everyone and himself he’s not the crazy weird one. He was put on medication, he was gaslit heavily, he had his eye ripped out at one point(?). And right when he’s with the stars, the tiny dots of light are gone. The thing he tried so hard to prove was real, to the point he accidentally killed everyone just to prove it, is gone.
He lost both lights of his life.
Also side note this could be used as a poetry shit for Stanford and Bill. Ford saw bill as the sun of his life, the brightest star, his galaxy but Bill doesn’t have that light in him to be any of that. Bill can’t even see that light, so why attempt to relight it, why attempt to try, why attempt to change? (This is a reference to the fact the reason why Bill will mostly never leave the theraprison, is because he won’t change. He has the ability too but just chooses not to.)
Abby from mitski. Quotes that remind me of this rant I’m doing.
“I am something. I have been something. I was born something. What could I be?”
-Both stanford and Bill were born with something that them odd. Bill with one eye, not 2D and could see stars. Stanford with his six fingers, and intelligent mind. At least for Stanford his ego and insecurities keep him from feeling as if he fits in, he genuinely believes he’s the special one because he’s different but at the same time that’s why he’s so insecure. He will never fit in, even if he does he will still have that little thought in his head. He knows he was born to be a star and yet still wants to shine. He was born something but what could he be? Thats when Bill comes in, feeding and stroking his ego, that’s who he could be. A star along side his sun. As for bill he knows he’s different, because he is. He’s not human and he doesn’t really know what he could be, but instead, he uses that as a reason to just do whatever he wants. If it doesn’t matter and he doesn’t know what he is, then why should he follow the rules? Why should he stay inside the box of what’s socially, mentally, and emotionally, conventional?
“There is a light that I can see but only, it seems, when there's darkness in me. There is a dream that I sometimes see. That only appears in the dark of sleep.”
-Bill could see something others can’t, he lost that ability once he destroyed his world but gained (take that with a grain of salt) it back when he went to therapy prison. This is based off of a comic i saw, Bills happy, safe place is Fords minds. It’s filled with stars and those tiny dots of light he thought he lost. He only got to see stars again cause Stanford is the brightest star in Bills life. Hes the only star Bill can see. But that’s only when he falls asleep. Another thing, when Stanford recounts his first impressions of Bill, I’m pretty its inside Stanfords mind. It was full of things and stars so the comic is slightly canon when it comes to his head.
“There is a light, I feel it in me but only, it seems, when the dark surrounds me. There is a dream and it sleeps in me.”
-Again back to the second point but this is in Stanford POV instead of Bill. Bill is a block hole, he’s not the sun but a black hole sucks all the stars (Stanford is a star), that would be never to see again or if they do they come out less bright then before. Stanford saw Bill a lot when he was asleep. Which is to say Bills happy place is Stanford, he practically sleeps in his head sucking up any light to keep to himself. Bill did say Stanford was his property.
Aka this quote from gravity falls:
Anyways this is just mindless ranting, a little OOC, and just head canons i wish to see more.
