Just a little something I was working on that I wanna share. Maybe I'll continue : )

"You need him." Jane's soft voice ruptured the eerie silence straining the never ending abyss.

Will's breath ceased entirely, looking into knowing eyes that saw him. Truly, saw him.

"Jane..." His eyes started to prickle with warm tears, the crackles of a sob already bubbling around the muttering of her name.

"Will..." A single tear rolled down her cheek but she simply smiled. Loving. Kind. Her.

That was the crack in the glass.

Will's sob shook his shoulders, only muffled by Jane's warm embrace. Tears streaked down Jane's face in silence, a couple falling into Will's dampened hair where her hands already cradled gentley.

"I- i'm sorry Jane." A familiar ping of guilt twinged in Will's gut. A guilt that drove him into a fit of countless breakdowns in the night, when no one could hear or see him.

A furrow formed between her brows; pained by his obvious guilt, frustrated with the world for making her brother feel wrong for the most pure thing a human can feel for another.

"No, do not be sorry. Do not."

"Will," Jane pulled Will's head into her hands, gazing into his teary eyes with a glint of wisdom in her own, "He needs you."

Her words stunned him once again, even more than before. She seemed so sure, her eyes swirling with thoughts and revelations he himself couldn't comprehend or identify.

He needs you. The words swam in his mind, not for the first time. His heart thrummed just a bit quicker, a bit warmer.

"How...how do you know?"

"I...just know. I know." Jane wiped his tears with a caress of her thumb. Visions flashed through her mind, like puzzle peices falling into their rightful place; all the times she glimpsed Mike looking at Will as if he was the light to his darkness. A look reserved for him, never for her.

The picture was whole now. It had always been, just waiting to be seen at a new angle.

"Will, it has to be you." Another pause, less strained this time. A needed prepartion for her next words, "It has always been you."

His own eyes began to light up with what can only be described as revelation. But doubt still tugged at the darkest corners of Will's mind. What if needing- loving, isn't enough? It's that mighty barrier that is your own fears and self judgments standing in the way. That whisper in your mind telling you lies you misconstrue for truth.

"But, what if I cant. What if...he can't."

"You can. You will. He will. You both will, together. But you have to find him first. Okay?"

"Together..." Will muttered, more to himself than to Jane. That one word summoned a buried, but never dead, memory; 'Crazy together? Yea, crazy together'.

Even if he is scared. Even if Mike is scared. They will overcome. Together. Always together.

Jane nodded, already seeing the way Will was coming to a conclusion. A new motivation.

"Okay," Will muttered, "Okay."

In the mind space, they walked over to Mike laying on the lonesome bed, nearly consumed by the surrounding darkness.

Will caressed the dark curls that lay limp on Mikes damp forhead. He glanced behind him at Jane who only had hope and support sparkling her eyes. She ushered him to continue with a gentle nod.

With a final deep breath, Will reached his hand out to Mike's shallowly rising and falling chest, placing it over his heart with reverent tenderness.

His skin emnated a cold that pierced through the layer of his sweater. Will didn't pull back, only pressed in.

I am IN LOVE with the idea of Jane being Starfire. I feel like space imagery and symbolism suits Jane so well. Not to mention the many parallels between Jane and Star as characters;

1. Both come from strange or foreign worlds/environments.

2. Both are percieved as or alluded to being aliens or alien-like (Lucas calls Jane 'ET' in season 1).

3. They both experience culture shock, discrimination, and feeling like outsiders in society. -> However, despite the unfair treatment and struggle to conform, they remain kind hearted and guided by good intentions. They can be driven by rage and impulse at times though.

4. Both possess telekentic abilities, allowing them to control, destroy, and manipulate objects, peaple, and energy around them. Their emotions are tied directly to their powers and often times stronger emitions like rage amplify them.

4.5. Other similar abilities include: Levetation and flight, super strength, and energy/forecefields.

5. Both have an evil sibling. (For Starfire, It's her sister Blackfire. For Jane, It's her brother Henry/Vecna).

Those are just some that I recognized, but im sure there's more! I would love to see artists and writers pick up this AU or just more AU's of Jane in general❤

A fav henderhop headcanon of mine is that Dustin rarely interrupts Jane or cuts her off while she's talking. Even if they're arguing, or if Jane is saying something particularily bad or mean about herself, which makes him swell with the urge to remove those worries from her mind. Instead, he lets her finish each thought and word. He understands that Jane has spent quite a long time learning how to put her thoughts and feelings into words, and she has only gotten better at it over time.

Jane notices and appreciates this. It makes her feel valued, understood, and heard in a way she hasn't always been.❤

I came up with a new Byler variant/AU!! Will is a surfer and Mike is a skater. It's ideally set in 90's California. Their ship name could be 'Surferwheels' -> 'Surfer' refers to Will being a surfer -> 'Wheels' is a play on Mike's last name (Wheeler) and the literal wheels on a skateboard. I personally love it <3 but I'm very open to more ideas! : )

Other possible ship names: SurferSkate, WavySkate, WavyWheels, SurfsUpWheels/SurfsUpWheeler

Erica fell in love with tennis and became the nations beloved starlet in the sport. As the saying goes, you can't spell America without Erica. She worked hard, with the help of Lucas coaching her, to get to that point. Even with her astounding reputation, she still faces harship and ridicule, largley stemming from the fact that there aren't many black women in the professional sport of tennis. But Erica Sinclair has never been one to fear ruffling feathers, especially when it means fowarding the representation and acheivment of girls who look like her. She, growing up in small town Hawkins, Indiana, knows more than anyone what it feels like to be the only black girl in class- to not have role models in leading clubs or extracurrilars to look up to. She is determined to be that person for all little black girls of the nation.

• Tennis started out as being a way to cope post all the craziness that happened in Hawkins and the Upside Down. She simply enjoyed the catharsis of whacking an object with a racket repeatedly. But it grew to become her passion.

• Lucas, who also found healing in playing basketball, encouraged her to pursue tennis and coached her once she started taking it more seriously. She got to unlock a new kind of bond with her brother, happy to see eachother find genuine happiness and coping through their respective sports.

• Erica always craved to spend more time with her brother, veiling it behind her snarky comments about how nerdy him and his friends were or how DND was beyond dorky. In reality, she wanted to join- to have what their party had. She finally got it when pursuing tennis, getting to spend time with her brother over a shared interest of sports and even forming her own loyal party of tennis friends. Erica and Lucas are very competetive with eachother and Lucas can be a bit tough on her at times, but she knows it's only out of love and a desire to see her get better.

It genuinely BAFFLES me when people say you're 'reading too much' into a show like Stranger Things, especially because the finale turned out bad. But girl, its Stranger Things. Its quite literally filled to the brim with monsters, mysteries, theories, all kinds of parallels, and supernatural themes. You're supposed to pay attention. Good film/media will make you do that.

Even if you were wrong or did 'read into it too much', that just goes to show that you have critical thinking skills, intelligence, creativity, and genuine care for the story and characters that the creators themselves dont even have (which is oftentimes the case for these really popular shows that get too much traction too fast).

And it sucks because it SHOULD be the standard to expect more out of shows. For the writers/directors to know and care enough about their own story to make it have substance, to put every dollar into making each detail matter. But it isn't the standard. General audiences expect shows and films to be surface level and easily digestible to them (spoon fed even), and the writers and big industries cave in all the time to pander to them.

Baby, its not embarrassing for us, its embarrassing THEM.

𝟐. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 '𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐎𝐧 𝐌𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝' 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞!: Dustin and Lucas were close friends during a good chunk of Erica's childhood, so she was familiar with Dustin and could have developed a crush.

𝟑. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐈𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐫𝐝: Erica was always the one calling The Party and Dustin 'nerds' but she turned out to be one too, which Dustin (a nerd) was responsible for clocking. He then helped her embrace that previously repressed part of herself💕

𝟒. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐲/𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫: Both Dustin and Erica are witty, intelligent, and have a love for acadamia, specifically the sciences. Their banter is so satisfying to watch and I feel as they get into college/their careers, that will only escalate their competiveness.

𝟓. '𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐨 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮/𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭' 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞: Erica has a soft spot for Dustin (vice versa). She gets close to and opens up to Dustin in a way not seen from her charcter before, even with Lucas. One of the only times we even see her get all giggly and affectionate is with Dustin when celebrating over something in S4 (forgot what lol).

𝟔. '𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞' 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞: This sorta expands upon the previous one. I feel like Erica's character is often the comedic relief, the 'sassy' or blunt one. I LOVE those traits for her, they're iconic, but what else?? Yknow? She has trauma/ insecurities too, but they're not explored in the show. Although her blunt exterior is uniquely charming and authentically her, I think it is also partly a coping mechanism/self preservation (similar to Dustin in s5!!--> they could relate to/help eachother!❤️) If given the chance, we would find she is more multilayered.

--> I read a Dustin/Erica fic on ao3 called Love Ahoy! by procrastiwriter (highly reccommend🫶🏾), and the author explored Erica's insecurities and pain with being left out by Lucas and the Party as a kid when she was showing (in her own way) that she just wanted to join/was curious.

𝟕. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: As Erica put it "Know him? I've bled with him." They went to hell and back with eachother, making their characters have a very special bond.

𝟖. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐲: They experienced forced proximity in canon s3, and that's when their frienship peaked (the bantering, the bonding, etc). So imagine if that was explored more in the future.

𝟗. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Their friendship blossomed in S4, then Dustin scurried off to college while Erica finished highschool, rendering them seperated until Erica will go to (possibly the same) college. Them going to the same college/reconnecting would be their 'second chance' at developing a newer, possibly romantic, kind of relationship.
