During the first half of 2017 I did some craaazy things. First, I stopped drinking alcohol. I realized that drinking on a regular basis doesn’t make me feel my best physically, mentally and emotionally. That long break felt really good. I got to see what life without it is like, which turns out to be just peachy. I got some time to step back from my relationship with alcohol and take a good look at it and heal it so that in the future I can have a more mindful one. 💖 I was also experimenting with smoothie cleanses during the first part of the year. The cleanses made me feel really good and I lost some weight. Alternatively, when I wasn’t on the cleanse, I would be following a carefully laid out meal plan. While my brain loves all of that structure, I don’t believe that my body did. I wasn’t listening to the messages my body was sending me and would end up falling off my OCD wagon into a vat of guilt coated cookies. 🍪 In June I started working with Soshy of Embody Nutrition and she has been teaching me how to look at consumption in a whole new way. She’s teaching me how to listen to my body. I’m learning how to tune into my gut when making food choices rather than ignoring it and eating what youtube stars say is the best thing to eat. 👍✨ Even though my sessions with Soshy are almost over, my homework is not nearly finished— there is a lot of growth to be had! She has given me some amazing tools to work with in the future and I am excited to slowly and surely become a more embodied person and food lover. More stories to come...
