Vienna’s eyes fluttered shut as she settled comfortably on the sun chair she kept on the roof. The off-limits area had become a sort of sanctuary for the woman. A little over a year ago, she started regularly going up there and had the pleasure of never running into another person. Which was a big deal considering how crowded the hotel was all the time. She was practically dozing off when she heard the roof hatch slam shut, causing her to jump. Sighing, but not moving or opening her eyes, she kept her voice steady. “You shouldn’t be up here.”
Connor looked around the rooftop, hearing a voice close by. He found this spot a few weeks ago while exploring the hotel, so when things would get crazy, he would frequently visit the roof to escape in a way. Obviously not knowing he wasn’t the only one doing this. “I didn’t expect anyone would be up here, honestly.”
