I must ask, even if its been answered before, were you self taught or had you gone through schooling? I've been thinking of asking an artist i respect and enjoy seeing work from if they have any advice in getting into digital art and drawing in general. I ask here as it might also help others who would see the answer. If you are unable to answer then do not worry, i understand you are busy with comics. I have asked others, however i gain more insight through different perspectives. This has been an ask from Likewise, i do not expect a response but would appreciate one none the less.

I started digital about..oh god I feel old, when I was 13, I used to scan my doodles done traditionally and then I'd do the lineart and colors digitally , I think you can start this way to get used to the program and how digital art works in general c:

Before I had a tablet I used to draw with a mouse, if you're just starting and you don't own a tablet, paint tool sai is a program that has the tools for mouse users. I've also seen people do crazy things on a PHONE. Technology really has come a long way haha

That being said, I'm salt taught n-n/ I started out with a very old program, then Paint Tool SAI, and now I use clip studio paint EX.

Some free alternatives that you can use could be Krita, Ibis Paint(i never used it myself so idk how it is), and Fire Alpaca.

Goodness, I remember trying my hand at drawing with Fire Alpaca. Good program, I just wish I kept any of the drawings I made with it

I don't recall if you've ever talked about it, so forgive me if you have, but would you ever consider setting up a Patreon or somesuch? IT'S STILL THERE, and right now it's a steady source of income which is allowing me to fund Incipere (though rn it's been put on hold, to prioritize my 70-page something one shot <3)

I'll throw myself in here as someone who's been a happy patron for a LONG time now.

Lawrence hc that he accidentally swallowed an unexpectedly tropical "ooh, aah!" pretty looking fish. Straight up open mouth inhaled underwater while marveling at it and then had an entire freakout, choked the water, swallowed the fish. Comically traumatic, unfortunately nobody believes it happened.

it becomes a running gag for those who know him to answer an implausible statement with "I once swallowed an exotic fish.", or variations of it.

That'd certainly explain why he doesn't go to the beach anymore.
