Eldritch / Cosmic Horror Ryland Grace!!!!!
We as a fandom need to explore more of the concept that if you think about it Humans are a cosmic eldritch entity from space, at least from the POV of some Eridians?
Grace is cosmic in nature. The guy is literally from space.
He is absolutely eldritch when it comes to Eridians!
His insides are audible from the outside!
Just the... ba-bump ba-bump ba-bump ba-bump of his heart constantly
In comparison to an Eridian? Horrifying body construction. Two limbs on the ground for ambulation, two limbs for manipulation, bilateral symmetry, a front and a back
He has a weird lump on the top of his body that he swivels to pay attention. It swivels.
Can perceive an entirely invisible force of nature and navigate by it.
He can perceive things that are at impossible distances.
He can perceive stars that are billions of light-years away
All of his meat and flesh are hung off of a calcium-based scaffolding essentially.
Produces so many fluids about everything
He has gelatinous sensory organs that can swivel separately to the head but in tandem with each other
Uses special lump on top of body to grind up food. Where it slides down into his body to be audibly dissolved with acids and adsorbed into the body before the rest is turned into waste.
Brain also contained in said lump, in a shell casing, under more meat.
Disturbingly brain has a long tentacle that runs down the length of the central scaffolding to control the rest of the body
Exists at an impossibly cold temperature
Breathes explosive gas - to the point where the lack of said explosive gas means death.
Has a fail-safe chemical that can be used for emergency situations because the body has a natural fail-safe to not accidentally break it's own scaffolding. The human body can override this with adrenaline.
Can remember spaces he is in with no audio or visual input!
Does not make sound by channelling air through vents, but by pushing and flapping meat about
Can whistle (imagine how it would sound almost Eridian, but not quite... like something mimicking in the dark...)
Can sing (imagine something trying to speak but it sound so so so wrong-)
I really could go on forever.
In short, Ryland Grace is a cosmic horror.
(He's also an adorkable nerd but stuff can be two things.)
