Dating as an idol was never easy. No one ever said it was. The fact that being caught for just being a human and having feelings for someone could ruin your career was actually terrifying, but that never stopped anyone. Everyone deserved happiness and to experience love, we are all only human after all. Being human means being bound to fall for someone at some point, it was truly inevitable.
So when you and Soobin started dating, it was safe to say you both were a bit scared of being caught. You tended to be pretty good at keeping your personal things under wraps, but as for your loving and doting boyfriend, he tended to be a yapper. An unfiltered one at that too. However, much to your delight, he was so careful and diligent about keeping your relationship on the down low and out of the public eye. Maybe even better than you at times.
He did everything in his power to make sure you guys stayed hidden while also keeping a healthy balance of making sure to be extremely active in your guys' relationship. He also made sure he did everything he could to shield you from any potential hate from being associated with him. Sure, being a secret had it's downs, but it always worked out in the end and was somewhat smooth sailing. Plus it wasn't like you guys were a total secret. The other guys knew as well as your group and you had both of their full support (Despite them gagging or being overdramatic the second you guys showed affection).
Soobin was so attentive and diligent when it came to dates, public appearances, and even when your groups interacted on shows. He even covered up a good few of your own slip ups too. It wasn't like you guys went out on public for dates often, you both agreed staying in dates were more your style. Even if you didn't go have these extravagant outings being inside with Soobin was always fun. He wasn't only your boyfriend, he was your best friend. You didn't need to really even do anything crazy and the night would still be filled with laughs and fun.
When you guys' were both on tour, you were both still extremely active in keeping each other updated. Facetiming whenever you could (even with crazy time differences), texting every break you got, watching clips from each other's concerts online when you missed one another, and even tuning into each other's live when they are on.
You were on your US leg of your groups tour when you got a notification at nearly 2 am (your current time zone in the US) saying Soobin went live. A small grin crawled onto your face as you clicked on the live. You watched as your boyfriend yapped about his day, interacted with the members, and talked to the fans. Soobin was ranting about something beomgyu did over text, so he proceeded to turn his phone to show the text conversation to MOAs only to accidentally shut off his phone and once he lit it back up, the lock screen of you and him went on full display. Safe to say the live ended promptly after the slip up.
So much for him being good at keeping it hidden. Eh, whatever. It was bound to get out anyways, but at least now he can finally show his love for you to the world.
