Authors I like :)
maternaljoke - Their fanfics are the first I read for the fandom, really love their angst one-shots but they have some happy ones too!
mwritten - I love all of their concepts, very good at writing both lighter fanfics and more serious ones.Â
trqshlooper - if you like fanfics set in the minecraft world, they make some very interesting ones.Â
antarctic-bay - We would not have 90% of the family au fics we have if not for her. Wonderful writer whoâs created many aus that the fandom loves. Please consider following if youâre not already!
Thank you for reading :) You can find my works here: C4pricornc4ts
Hey, I know you mostly do SBI family but I kinda read 93% of those, any good awesamdad or Papa Puffy Fics with Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo?
Hi, I read fanfic of all the mcyts! But I will admit I prefer Tommy centric stories so a lot of what I have to recommend for you only has him. I put who is in each story next to the word counts below:Â

9.6k 1/1 Light Angst - Dad!Sam+Tommy
âSam?â Tommy swallows, hand resting uselessly on the front rim of the double chest. The other subconsciously fiddles with the front latch, gold and rusted a splotched copper.
Sam hums curiously from across the room. Tommy fights the urge to glance over at him, knowing if he looked at Sam, the anxious nausea churning deep in his gut and the thin layer of cold sweat caking his skin would get the better of him. Prime, why is he so nervous?

1.5k 1/1 Hurt/Comfort MamaPuffy + Tommy
Puffy's spent a lot of time being a parent to people who don't need her. She's not quite sure what to do with this one who does.
But, goddamn, if she isn't willing to try.
âTommy,â Sam said quietly, âI hope you know this doesnât change the way we look at you.â
Tommy let out a wet chuckle. âYou donât have to lie to me. I know youâre pitying me right now; I know thatâs the only reason youâre doing this.â

850 1/1 Light Angst - Dad!Sam + Tommy
(they have a whole series attached to this fic that I also recommend!)Â
âCaptain Puffy.â A voice that sheâs never heard before, announced from the entrance of Therapuffy.
Puffy paused and looked up from her paperwork. There, leaned on the door frame with his arms crossed, was Purpled. She's never really met him before, but the purple hoodie was a pretty good indication. Anyway, she knew what he was there for. And she knows very well that itâs not to get therapy.

1k 1/1 Fluff and Angst - Mama!Puffy + Dad!Sam + Tubbo + Tommy at the end
Tubbo looks at his ceiling, his bed is soft and the place is quiet, he feels too quiet. He wants to move, sure, but itâs hard. Heâs not even in his own body now.
Tubbo dissociates after a nightmare that had him wake up screaming, Puffy and Sam help him like parental figures should.

6.9k 1.1 Hurt/Comfort - Therapist!Puffy + Tommy + Jack + Sam + Ranboo and some Niki :)Â
Puffy realised that Tommy needed help and coincidentally, she had just opened up her new therapy. It was perfect, even if it wasn't a complete solution to all his problems, it would still aid him with the healing process.
boys will be bugs - soldierpoetprinceÂ
3.1k 1/1 Fluff - Mama!Puffy + Dad!Sam + Tommy
Puffy has been wanting to help Tommy in any way she can. Sam finally gives her an in, as unorthodox as it may be.
"April Fool's bitch! Also can I move in with you?" - OriginsSMP one-shot
Happy April Fools! - Read it on ao3 here!
Words: 2k Characters: Tommy, Tubbo, Niki, Wilbur
âItâs April Fools Day, Iâm pranking him.â He points to his chest with his thumb proudly. âSo he needs to borrow some of your lake. Just till he wakes up.â
Niki laughs, she had forgotten about April fools day. It wasnât really something she ever did. Or cared to do. But this seemed harmless enough. So she nods and goes to guide his float all the way back to the middle of the river before the sun rises any more.
Niki wakes up and immediately notices something very different. There was a large object floating on the surface, and it definitely wasnât a mob she knew. Unless Minecraft had updated? Surely she would have known. She stares up at it from her ocean bed for another minute, working up the courage to swim up to it.
Well, it didnât seem hostile. It didnât really seem like a fish at all, but it was so early in the morning there wasnât really a lot of light to tell by. So, at four in the morning, Niki finds herself swimming up to the surface.
She breaks through the water and takes a minute to adjust to the land. Her eyesight was worse up here. But it wasnât so bad. Tubbo was working on some glasses for her, but apparently, the whole âneeding to be waterproofâ thing is giving him some trouble. She didnât blame him, it was a little troublesome.
Niki gasps when she realizes it isnât an animal but rather a certain very loud, very not into sleeping at low altitudes, Tommy. She immediately grabs the air mattress heâs somehow still asleep on and slowly pulls him over to land. Sheâs about to wake him up when someone starts talking.
âHey! Niki!â Itâs a hushed voice, with a hint of excitement in it. Niki jumps a little but tries to stay quiet as well.
âHello? Who are you?â
âItâs me, Niki! Your best pal. Duh.â Sure enough, Tubbo with his brown hair and signature oversized green shirt struggles to get out of the bush he was hiding in.
âWell I donât know about âbest.ââ
He sits down in front of her and pushes a still sleeping Tommy back into the river. âYou wound me, Niki.â
âWhy did you just push him back?â She tilts her head at him, bracing for some sort of overly complicated answer. It was a coin toss whether sheâd understand a single thing in Tubboâs explanations.
âItâs April Fools Day, Iâm pranking him.â He points to his chest with his thumb proudly. âSo he needs to borrow some of your lake. Just till he wakes up.â
Niki laughs, she had forgotten about April fools day. It wasnât really something she ever did. Or cared to do. But this seemed harmless enough. So she nods and goes to guide his float all the way back to the middle of the river before the sun rises any more.
--------------------------------------------
Tommy wakes up to the sun in his eyes and a pounding headache. He looks around, confused when he sees trees instead of the usual mountain peaks. And more confused by the fact his hands are sinking into something that is definitely not his bed.
âJACK FUCKINâ MANIFOLD, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?â He carefully gets on his knees, not sure how stable afloat in the middle of a lake is.
It surprises him when Jack doesnât appear, but Niki does. Which really shouldnât surprise him at all, because, well, heâs kinda sleeping in her house.
âThis one wasnât Jack, unfortunately. But it wasnât me either before you get mad at the person who is about to rescue you.â
Tommy narrows his eyes at her. âSo you know who did it then?â
Both of their attentions shift to Tubbo, who just fell out of the bush he was hiding in. Clutching his stomach in laughter.
âOh, you shulk! Just wait till I get over there Iâll-â He looks around him and realizes there's really no way for him to get over to the shore. Well besides swimming and he doesnât want to be wet and have a migraine this early in the morning. âNiki, if you will.â
She nods, trying not to laugh at him which the avian appreciates.
Once they finally reach the grass, Tubbo helps him off the bed, and the three talk.
âNow how the hell did you manage to get me out there and what the hell are you gonna do to fix this headache I have from sleeping so low?â He rubs his head to make a point, now that heâs not so focused on getting out of the water it hurts a lot more.
âOne question at a time sheesh Tommy. I got Philza to help me. Not sure how you slept through that.â
âTommyâs just used to flying I think, Philza has carried him a lot.â Niki joins from the water.
âSo youâre telling me I have to go get mad at him too?â Tommy turns to Niki very seriously. âTell me you werenât in on this too.â
âOh donât worry Tommy, I was just as confused why you were in the middle of the river.â
âWell, Iâm just glad someone likes me and doesnât want me dead!â He turns back to Tubbo and crosses his arms.
âOh come on you didnât die!â Tubbo is laughing at his dramatics, and Tommy canât deny he wants to laugh too. Itâs a good prank, at least all he got was a headache. If this had happened to RanbooâŚ
âYeah, and thatâs a bad thing for you, Iâll get revenge Tubbo.â He gets up, waving bye to Niki before heading to someone who he knows would help him get revenge.
âWouldnât have it any other way. See you later Toms! Bye Niki!â Tommy doesnât say anything back, just focusing on getting to Wilburâs house.
------------------------------------------
He doesnât bother to knock, knowing Wilbur is probably asleep. He usually was during the day, being a phantom and all. He does knock on the bedroom door once however, heâs not completely rude.
âWilbur, I need your help, it's an emergency.â
Wilbur gets up hearing that, feeling around his bedside table for his glasses. He almost knocks over a cup of water in the process which Tommy catches.
âWh-whatâs wrong Tommy?â He finally puts his glasses on and looks up at him. âYou seem too happy to have a real emergency. God damnit Toms what did I say about-â
âNope, no, save the lecture for after I tell you what I woke you up for.â
âAlright.â The phantom sits back down. âTell me your âemergency.ââ
âTubbo and Philza pranked me and I need your help getting him back.â
âYou wake me up, and scare the shit out of me for a prank war?â Wilburâs looking up at him with an unimpressed face, waiting for a real answer.
Tommy plays with his hands and smiles nervously. âUm⌠yes?â
Wilbur sighs and falls back on his bed. âIâm in. Whatâs your plan?â
âSo glad you asked. Itâs simple really.â Tommy sits down on the bed as well, grabbing a notepad and pen off the dresser and tearing off the top page that was full of what looked like song lyrics. âWilbur are you sad again?â
âWhat? No. That has nothing to do with your prank anyway.â
âOkay, sure.â Tommy writes âbring up another timeâ on the top of the notepad. Wilbur laughs and slaps the whole thing out of his hands.
âJust tell me the plan, you fuckinâ vegan.â
âAlright, so I was thinking I just toss a glass of water at his face.â
âThatâs kinda lame compared to what he pulled off.â Wilbur laughs.
âSo? He had time, probably planned that stupid prank for months! I have hours. And he hates getting surprised so itâs perfect really.â
âLook, I have some bubble wrap. Weâll put that under his rug and you can still do your stupid water shit when heâs still figuring out why his rug sounds like fireworks.â
âOkay weird plan but sure. Where is the bubble wrap? Iâll speed walk it to Tubboâs treehouse.â He gets up off the bed, waiting for the phantom to do the same.
âItâs in the living room, go ahead and go over. Iâll have to be invisible.â He leaves Wilbur and starts the walk to Tubboâs house, careful not to run into anyone on the way.
He likes Tubboâs treehouse, it always felt so personal. Almost everything Tubbo had in it was handmade. Tommy had even reluctantly helped with some things. Like the rug in the entrance. They had lined it with thin pieces of oak and carved their initials into it.
He climbs up the ladder into the trees and lets himself into a thankfully empty treehouse. When he lifts up the rug to place the bubble wrap under, he smiles when he sees their initials and stupid little drawings were still scratched into it. He never checks it when Tubbo is around, always insisting it was dumb of them to have done.
He goes to the kitchen and is looking for a cup when Wilbur appears behind him.
âHowâs it going?â
Tommy yelps and turns around, hand on his chest. âWilbur! Donât scare me like that damnit!â
âAh, yes. My bad. Forgot that avians were fragile.â Wilbur retorts, causing Tommy to just roll his eyes.
âWell, at least I donât need to wear a stupid hat in the sun.â The hat was oversized and very floppy but for some reason, Wilbur insisted it was stylish. Tommy didnât know when blue sun hats with red ribbons came into style, but whatever kept his friend from dying in the sun was okay in his book.
âIt not stupid itâs-â
â-Stylish, I know. Keep lying to yourself, Wilby.â
They both pause, Tommy turns back and picks a cup. Wilbur sits on the counter, swinging his legs.
âSometimes I wish I just accepted his offer to live here. Itâs kinda⌠lonely at night.â He regrets it as soon as he says it, but looking at all the art and knickknacks Tubbo has scattered around his kitchen just makes Tommy feel at home. More than his own house.
âI canât believe you didnât. Were you hoping Philza would take you?â
âYeah. I suppose I was. God, how stupid am I?â
âStupid enough to choose avian as your class.â Wilbur jokes and hops off the counter before continuing. âYou know, Tubboâs a good kid. Betcha if you told him you changed your mind heâd let you.â
They both look at the cup of water Tommy just filled, planning to throw at Tubbo. âThen maybe we shouldnât prank him backâŚâ
Tommy goes to pour out the water, Wilbur stops him. âWe absolutely should prank him back! Heâs a strange kid, heâll appreciate it.â
âI thought he was a good kid.â
âHeâs both. Heâs also a fuckin shulker.â
Tommy laughs. âLike if true!â
They hear the door creak open and Tommy flattens himself against the kitchen wall, gripping the cup of water so tight his fingers are turning white. Wilbur quickly makes himself invisible.
Tommy hears the popping, flinching from how loud it is. Wilbur was right, it did sound like fireworks. He hears Tubbo yelp before throwing the water at his face as he runs into the kitchen.
Tubbo trips on seemingly nothing and falls. âOh my god, Tommy!â
He starts to get actually concerned for the shulker so he kneels down to check on him. Tubbo flicks water onto his face and laughs.
âI was starting to think you werenât going to.â
âMy damn headache didnât let me forget.â
âWell, I think that fall gave me one too, or maybe a concussion.â
âApril fools bitch! Also can I please move in with you?â
âHaha- Wait what?â Tubbo gets up. âOh come on now Tommy you already pranked me once this joke is actually cruel.â
âNo itâs not a joke, I promise. Itâs just- you live up high and we could split the chores you knowâŚ?â
âSure, chores are what made you want to live with me.â
âYep! Chores. So can I?â He gets up and then reaches his hand towards Tubbo to help him up. He notices the window is open, Wilbur mustâve left.
â... Clean the puddle on my floor and weâll talk.â
Hi! Do you have any fics about Wilbur raising Tommy?
And how are you? :)
Hi! I am well thank you for asking. <3 Here are my favorite fanfics where Wilbur raises Tommy:Â
A gremlins first words - TheshycreeperÂ
4k 3/3 fluff & angstÂ
Wilbur is left to watch over Tommy while Phil and Techno are away.
First words are spoken but they aren't what wilbur would ever expect them to be.
you're still the father of mine - mochiwritesÂ
5k 1/1 angst, hurt/comfortÂ
Wilbur was excited at first, because having a baby in the house meant that Phil would have to stay home more to care for him. He assumed that Phil wouldnât feel comfortable leaving Tommy home with Wilbur, who was just barely nine years old. Techno shared his sentiment, and the two brothers expected to have a full house a lot more.
But it seemed Phil thought differently.
or, 5 times Tommy accidentally calls Wilbur "dad", and the 1 time he calls him "Wilby"
boxcar children - milo_the_fish
2.1k 1/1 angst
Wilbur has some choice words for his father and brother, regarding Tommy.
if our world was ending (you'd come over right?) - KayveeWritesÂ
2.9k 1/1 hurt/comfort, sickfic
âI donât feel so well, Wilby,â Tommy muttered before feeling his body give way. Before he knew it, Wilbur had set the cup aside and gently guided him onto the floor. Tommy could feel someone calling his name, but all he wanted to do was sleep. He closed his eyes.
Tommy has a habit of getting sick. With Phil and Techno out on their latest adventures, Tommy doesnât want to feel like Wilburâs burden. Hiding an illness ultimately leads to Tommy collapsing.
And All The King's Men - CaptainKaysnoÂ
3.3k 1/1 angstÂ
Itâs the week after Wilburâs twelve birthday that it finally sinks in that Phil will never love him or Tommy as much as he loves Technoblade.

Hope you are doing good too anon and anyone who reads this. :)
The toddler was dressed in an oversized green button down that- from the looks of it, was buttoned by the boy himself given that it's uneven. Everything looks so big on him and his hair is a mess. There's a red pacifier in his mouth and he's looking at Schlatt with wide brown eyes.
He's handed a black garbage bag. "What- why did you bring up trash? The bins are outside."
"It's not trash." Leslie nods to Tubbo. "It's his belongings."
Schlatt wakes up to the smell of smoke. Heâs fairly confident Quackity did something stupid to set it off but he still hurries to check. He needed to be awake anyways to finish baby proofing the apartment for inspection.
The ram confirmed his suspicions when he saw Quackity in an apron he didnât even know he owned waving away smoke coming from a pan with something so burnt Schlatt couldnât even tell what it was.
âYâknow just knocking on my bedroom door would wake me up, no need to try and burn the damn apartment down.â
âWho knew following Ranbooâs cereal video could go so poorly?â
âThat was CEREAL?â Schlatt turns back to his soon-to-be shared room, it was too early to figure out how his friend managed that. Though heâs sure thereâs a good story behind it.
He gets dressed and goes to clean up the living room, Quackity focusing on trying to fix whatever crime he committed in the kitchen. They talk while they pick up, Quackity telling him what was happening in law school and Schlatt telling him about how he fell up the stairs.
âYou fell UP the stairs?â
âYes, up the stairs. Do you even listen to-â
They freeze when thereâs a knock at the door. Quackity going over and shoving him towards it with a whispered âCharm her.â Before the duck makes himself scarce but thankfully, still in sight if Schlatt should need him.
He opens the door, and looks up at the woman who he assumes is the same one over the phone and steps aside to let her in.
âIâm Leslie, we spoke over the phone, yes?â She holds out her hand, shifting her clipboard further into her side.
He stares at her outstretched hand for maybe too long before realizing heâs supposed to shake it. âYeah, Iâm Schlatt thatâs- thatâs Alex.â
âDo you want something to drink?â Quackity asks from the kitchen, opening several cabinets looking for the cups. He opens Schlattâs liquor cabinet and freezes, looking back at him sheepishly mouthing âsorry.` towards Schlatt
Schlatt tries to laugh it off, turning back to Leslie who just checks something off on her paper.
âPut a lock on it and youâre fine.â She keeps walking around, telling them a few things they might want to do. Things neither of the boys wouldâve thought of like covering the open outlets.
She finishes looking around and all three of them sit at the kitchen table, the social worker passing over a custody form and a file.
âBy signing this youâll be granting custody of Tubbo, the form just needs you to promise youâll put him in a school and allow the system to make house visits.â She passes him a pen while Quackity takes the manila folder and opens it.
âSo Ms. Leslie, tell me what Iâm looking at here.â Quackity has his nose almost touching the paper trying to read the small text. At the top is a small black and white photo paper clipped to the page.
âItâs nothing bad, as you can see itâs not very full. Just a few notes about his behavior and his birth certificate.â She reaches over and points at the section labeled âAdditional commentsâ âWeâre not sure if he can speak, he has screaming fits over seemingly nothing, and is incredibly shy.â
âWhat do we do if he really canât talk?â Schlatt pushed the forms back to her, scooting his chair towards Quackity so they could look at the file together.
âYou wonât need to worry about that, heâs been through a lot. He most likely just needs some stability. Somewhere where he feels safe enough to express himself.â She puts the now signed form on her clipboard and stands up. âHe just needs someone to make him feel loved, then if that doesnât work weâll talk about speech therapy.â
Quackity takes the small photo of Tubbo and puts it on the fridge. âOh my god Schlatt he has little horns!â
Schlatt walks over to the fridge to get a closer look. Sure enough, even though itâs the grainiest picture heâd seen, the horns were clearly poking through the toddlers head. A hand in his mouth and wide eyes looking right at the camera, the resemblance was there.
âPoor kid, mustâve hurt to get those so early.â It hurt him to know he wasnât there to help his kid through the painful process of growing horns.
âRemember in middle school when I had to bring you your homework because your horns were always hurting?â
âDonât remind me.â He shuddered at the thought. Heâd rather have a migraine everyday then ever go through the pain of growing horns again.
âIâll bring him by tonight if thatâs alright with you?â
âThatâs great, weâll be here.â Schlatt walks her to the door, they add each other into their respective contact lists before sheâs headed back down the apartment stairs.
âShe can have him here by tonight? Wow, same day delivery.â
âDidnât you know? CPS is partnered with Amazon these days.â
âWait, really?â Quackity slams the fridge closed and looks behind him towards Schlatt.
âNo, not really, Dumbass.â Schlatt shakes his head and goes to put Tubboâs file in the designated important stuff drawer. He hears Quackity shuffling behind him, zipping up his bookbag.
âOh. Well this dumbass needs to go to class.â
âYouâll be done by tonight right?â Of course the duck would fail to mention he had law school today. Schlatt feels a surge of guilt when he thinks about how much stress he must be causing Quackity. Heâs already balancing streaming and school, now Schlattâs gone and dragged him into this mess as well.
â âCourse I will be, gotta meet my new godson.â Schlatt hands him his glasses and heâs out the door with a wave and another promise to be home to see Tubbo tonight.
Schlatt sits on the living room couch, editing a video on his laptop. His hands itch for a cigarette but he really doesnât want a social worker to smell that on him. Thatâd be responsible of him, right?
He finishes a new jackbox video and passes out on the couch, only to be woken up by Quackity tossing his unreasonably heavy backpack at him. He wheezes and throws the backpack off his stomach, the books inside hitting against each other with several thuds.
âJudging by how you're sleeping right now, I guess Little T isn't here yet."
"Weâre not calling him 'Little T' it doesn't even make sense. It implies there's a big T and last I checked there's only a big Q and a Big man. No T." He sits up fully, putting his elbows on his legs and leaning into his hands. He feels the couch dip as Quackity sits next to him.
"When he's big, he'll be big T, but right now he's little. So⌠little T."
"I'm not calling him that."
"Suit yourself."
He keeps his eyes closed, and listens to the sound of Quackity turning on the television. He never knew what the duck would play, it was always something different and usually chaotic.
The sound of one of Quackity's intros begins to play and Schlatt laughs and pushes a smug Quackity off the couch.
"Give me that remote, you've lost youtube privileges."
Schlatt leans over the couch and reaches for the remote the now floored Quackity is keeping away from him.
"My videos are not bad, and I will in fact be showing Tubbo every single one of them as soon as he gets here."
He pins Quackity's right arm and grabs the remote. He starts to laugh when he falls off the couch, joining Quackity between the coffee table and the couch.
He grips the remote tightly, careful to keep the remote close to him so the duck couldn't snatch it back. They're both sitting on the floor, facing each other with their knees against the couch base.
It's one of Quackity's older videos, Schlatt lets it play.
Another roblox raid video is about to begin when there's a knock at the door. Schlatt turns off the TV and brushes off his clothes before rushing to answer.
"Hello again." He smiles when he sees the face of the same woman that had come by earlier. He looks down and his eyes widen when he sees Tubbo.
Quackity comes up to the door. He looks at the trash bag and then to the toddler. "I mean, not what I was expecting but really what was I thinking? Not like he'd have a suitcase."
Schlatt takes the makeshift bag and sets it against the crib in his room.
He walks back out to see Leslie now holding Tubbo against her hip talking to Quackity.
The duck is nodding very seriously and copying the way the woman has her arms. Schlatt is confused about what they're doing till she carefully passes Tubbo to Quackity. His smile reaches his eyes when he manages to not drop the boy.
Tubbo doesn't seem as happy to be held, he's leaning away from Quackity and reaching for Leslie. Whining, and clearly very nervous.
Schlatt couldn't blame him, Quackity wasn't known for being careful with anything. He'd be nervous too in the toddler's situation.
"Careful with my kid, I don't want him to get dropped and then never want to be held again before I even get the chance." He walks past Quackity and Tubbo, headed towards the door. Leslie follows him.
âIf itâs too much, you can always give him up.â She looks so serious Schlatt canât look her in the eyes anymore. âDo whatâs best for him, donât let pride keep him somewhere that isnât meeting his needs.â
Schlatt wonders if this woman was just that good at reading people or if she gives this speech to everybody. He lies through his teeth when he tells her heâd never be too proud to make the right decision. Everyone who has ever met him will tell you he thinks only with his ego.
She leaves, and as soon as he closes the door he lets out the breath he was holding and goes back to the kitchen.
âHeâs light, I read that two year olds were hard to carry.â
âMaybe youâre just strong.â
Quackity readjusts so Tubbo is further up his hip. âYou know thatâs not true. Should we be worried heâs this light?â
Schlatt reaches his hands out, Quackity awkwardly passes Tubbo over to him. Heâs no longer whining but rather is just staring at them both with wide eyes.
âHey buddy, I know itâs a lot to take in.â He pats Tubbo on the back. âWhat about some dinner? Get you weighing more with a grilled cheese.â
With the help of Quackity they get Tubbo situated in the tiny booster seat. The duck sits next to the boy, handing a small stuffed animal to keep him occupied while Schlatt cooks.
He makes one for each of them and adds some fruit on the side, setting it down in front of the two before going to sit across from them.
Quackity cuts Tubboâs into smaller bits while the toddler watches with his hand in his mouth. When Quackity finishes he takes his hands away but Tubbo makes no move to eat on his own.
Schlatt and Quackity exchange a look before the duck picks up a small piece and brings it up to Tubboâs mouth. Gently prying the toddlerâs hand away from his mouth.
Tubbo refuses to eat it. Turning away and putting his hand back in his mouth.
âI promise it tastes better than it looks, I only burned it a little bit.â Schlatt encourages him, before reaching over and taking a small piece of Tubboâs sandwich and eating it. âSee? Now you.â
Tubbo smiles a little but continues to suck on his fingers instead. Quackity and Schlatt continue eating thinking of what to try next. He didnât want to force the kid to eat it, maybe he just didnât like that food. Kids can be picky.
âWhat about some juice? Or-or some apple slices?â Quackity finishes his sandwich and goes over to the fridge taking out an apple and a caprisun.
âQuackity is offering you one of his favorite drinks, you should feel honored Tubs.â Maybe the little ram does, itâs hard to tell what heâs feeling when all he does is stare.
The apple is sliced and placed infront of him and Quackity opens the caprisun before his phone rings. âItâs Karl, I forgot Iâm supposed to record with him today. Shit, hold on you two.â He goes to his room, leaving Schlatt alone, sitting across from his kid.
He stares at Tubbo, leaning back and folding his hands on the table. They stare at each other for a moment before Tubbo takes his hand out of his mouth and starts to cry.
Schlatt walks over to him and picks him up out of the seat. âNo no no donât do that donât uh- donât cry please?â He bounces him and pats his back but it doesnât seem to help. The kid buries his head on Schlattâs shoulder and sobs, and Schlatt cringes from the feeling of his slimy hands on his arm and the noise.
âOh my god, Quackity!â
Quackity rushes out and relaxes when he sees thereâs no danger. Besides the idiot in front of him. But heâs more of a danger to himself. âMaybe heâs bored? Iâd cry too if I had to just sit and stare at your ugly face.â
âBro what the fuck?â
âJust put on some of those weird kids youtube videos! Babies cry, Schlatt. It's like- 90% of what they do.â
And thatâs how Schlatt ended up on the couch, watching one of those baby sensory videos with a sniffling toddler who still hadnât eaten a damn thing.
Thereâs a rainbow bouncing across a black background with some soft music and for a moment Schlatt finds himself just as immersed in it.
Tubboâs hand is back in his mouth and Schlatt notes he needs to get him something to chew on later, but for now, the poor kid needs a tissue. He leans over to the coffee table to grab one, careful not to disturb the toddler who is currently clinging to his side like a koala.
He wipes his nose, with thankfully no protest from Tubbo. Before taking another tissue and gently wiping the tear tracks away. âItâs gonna be okay, itâs- itâs okay kid.â
Tubbo puts his head against Schlatt's side, and Schlatt props his feet up on the coffee table. Getting comfortable before leaning his head back on the couch.
By the time Quackity was done recording with Karl, which was quite the struggle to do on his laptop, Schlatt and Tubbo were both asleep on the couch. He considers waking them up, but he really didnât want Tubbo to cry again. So he brings the untouched fruit over to the living room and turns off the TV before bringing his laptop out to the couch and editing quietly next to the two.
He calls it a successful day, after all everyone was alive, right?
hi iâm looking for a fic so iâm going into my favorite sbi writers asks, have you ever read an sbi irl fic about mcc 4 and itâs like tommy centric and hurt/comfort?

Tommy grimaces, âI wanted to be in your team, Tubbo.â
Tubboâs arms quiver. He stares at the ground, pity glazing his eyes, âI did too, Tommy.â
tommy and tubbo reunite at the infamous dodgebolt match, conflict ensues as they are faced against each other
4 Reactions to Tubboâs Close Call - AegrimoniaÂ
1k 1/1 Angst, Multi-Character PovÂ
Wilbur saw Tubbo miss the jump and his heart dropped to his feet, adrenaline kicking up another notch as he screamed into the comms.
Oh God, heâs going to fall.
we win these.. after we finish taking care of ourselves - anon
1.8k 1/1 Fuff, Wilbur centric
in which pre-mcc hangout time but wilbur's an idiot and forgets to sleep
[player] has left the game - anon
1.2k 1/1 Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Wilbur centric
phil left the game, techno left the game, tommy left the game, they were all in the dodgebolt arena now
so why was wilbur still in the hub, being taunted by error messages of 'error initializing teleport'?
aka; wilbur has a bad timeÂ
glitches - anonÂ
1.1k 1/1 Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Phil and Wilbur centric
So, we all know how MCC was a bit glitchy this time around, right?
What if that glitch also made it so pain stayed even after a respawn during the final round of Dodgebolt?

Itâs a very on-brand thing for Tommy to do- leave getting his friend a gift the day before Valentineâs day. He kept putting it off because he wasnât sure what to get Ranboo. He has hybrid friends, but Tubbo was easy. He and Sam had taken a break from the hotel to make the boy a small bee necklace that he knew heâd love.Â
Endermen were a whole new category. What did enderman hybrids even like? He hadnât talked to Ranboo much unlike Tubbo. So he was really at a loss for ideas. Are there items that are offensive to give an enderman? He hopes Sam will know. Otherwise, heâs going to have to ask Tubbo and he really doesnât want to get laughed at.Â
Sam doesnât laugh, even if Tommy knew the question was ridiculous. He wasnât used to that.Â
âWhat do endermen like?â Heâs gathering more wood for the hotel, Sam somewhere behind him.Â
âWhat are you setting up some kind of⌠enderman trap?âÂ
He throws his axe down, splitting another log. Trying to keep his focus on his work, embarrassed to admit the truth to Sam.Â
âNo- I donât know what to get Ranboo for tomorrow. And I donât think heâd appreciate me trapping his cousins.âÂ
âYeah youâre right, donât tell him about Philzaâs hardcore world then.â Tommy hears Sam shudder, his tail making a slight sound as it puffs out.Â
âDidnât plan on it Big S.â Tommy laughs and cuts through another trunk.Â
âJust get him something he likes, we hybrids arenât that different you know.âÂ
âThatâs the problem! I donât know what he likes. We barely talk, but Tubbo went and invited the guy to our lunch and now I need to find him something.â He tosses the logs into their wheelbarrow and pushes it towards Samâs pile to collect his as well.Â
âOkay then, get him a grass block or something. Better yet, let him pick. Yâknow?âÂ
âYour ideas are shit, Sam.â He hopes Sam can somehow hear a âthank youâ in that insult. Because Tommy just got the best idea ever. âIâll drop all this off, then Iâm off to build something else. Iâll see you tonight yeah?âÂ
âSee you then, good luck with Ranboo. The only way you could mess this up is by giving him water so just- donât do that.â The creeper hybrid goes back to the rest of the trees as Tommy pulls out his silk touch shovel and gets to work collecting grass blocks and a few other blocks just in case Ranboo likes variety.Â
He tucks his new blocks away into his inventory and goes towards the main path of the SMP.Â
With how far everything has gone, can he even call this the main path anymore?
He goes into the abandoned Walmart that Tommy for the life of him canât remember who built it and starts arranging the mostly grass blocks into different piles and sections. Adding a small pile of sand and some smooth stone he mined with a silk touch pick for a little variety. He canât have a store that only sold one thing, it was bad for the economy. He reasons.Â
Once he was finished he went to Samâs house to find something to make for dinner. He and the creeper hybrid had a deal, he does dinners and Sam lets him stay in the spare room while the hotel is being built. Though he knows Sam doesnât actually care if he does it, he just wants Tommy to feel like heâs earning his stay.Â
He appreciates it. Heâll never say it out loud but he appreciates all the little things Sam does for him. Maybe heâll try being nicer to the man tomorrow.Â
Probably not.Â
He tears into his baked potato after wrapping Samâs in some tin foil before running up the stairs to his room. Tomorrow he would drag a hopefully excited Ranboo to an abandoned Walmart and make the best second impression ever.Â
------------------------------------------------
Once heâs dressed and double-checks he has Tubboâs gift in his inventory he pulls out his communicator to message Ranboo. Leaning against the front door.Â
You whisper to Ranboo: Hey, meet me outside Samâs house, I want to show you something. :)
Ranboo whispers to you: Alright, Iâll be there by the time you read this message.Â
Tommy reads the message again, trying to understand what it meant when he hears a small vwhoop and jumps a bit when he looks up to see a slightly disoriented 6â6â enderman hybrid standing on his front porch surrounded by purple particles.Â
âI hate teleporting. But Philza says I need to do it more so here I am.âÂ
Tommy regains his composure as Ranboo straightens out his suit that Tommy can only assume got ruffled in the process.Â
âYou know, that whole teleporting thing wouldâve been useful back when we were fighting for Lâmanberg.â Referring to Lâmanberg so lightly with anyone else would be impossible, but Ranbooâs absence from those days made it easier to joke about with. âWhat were you doing before you came here anyway?âÂ
âI donât remember.â Ranboo looks away, Tommy silently berates himself for asking. He really didnât want Ranboo to hate him.Â
âThatâs okay tall man! Youâre here now and Iâm stupid for asking.â He starts walking towards the Walmart hoping Ranboo would just follow.Â
He does. âYouâre not stupid, most people would remember. I just have beef with memories yâknow?âÂ
âBeef with memoriesâŚ? Youâre gonna have to tell me about whatever that means later. But for now I gotta show you your gift.âÂ
âMy gift?â
Tommy stops and turns to him. âYour valentineâs day gift! I thought you knew, why else would you just teleport to me no questions asked?âÂ
âI mustâve-âÂ
âForgotten. Right. Itâs no big deal, but what Iâm about to show you inside of this broken down Walmart is.â He takes Ranboo to the entrance which is just the 2x2 opening not surrounded by broken glass. âWelcome to the enderman store! I made it myself because I am just so cool.âÂ
Ranboo immediately ducks under the doorway and starts moving the blocks around. âYou arenât very cool but this makes you at least 20% cooler.âÂ
âDoes that mean you like it?â Tommy asks as he goes to stand behind the makeshift counter.Â
âOf course I do! Itâs like- like a block playground.â Ranboo teleports around the store and Tommy looks down because the sight of him appearing and disappearing was making his head hurt.Â
âYou pick one yet?â He plants his elbow on the counter and tries to give his friend a good impression of an underpaid cashier.Â
âPick one for what?âÂ
âAs your gift.â He says it like it was the most obvious thing in the world but with the way Ranboo stands confused he supposes it wasnât. âI mean, the whole store is your gift actually. But you gotta like, pick your favorite block or something.â
âThatâs kinda stupid.âÂ
âWhatever, at least Iâm not 6â6â, now pick your favorite grass block so we can go to Tubboâs and show him how cool I am.âÂ
âOkay, I likeâŚâ He carefully considers the dirt for what? Tommy doesnât know. Maybe endermen have a block grading system.Â
He finally picks one of the many grass blocks in the corner and places it in front of Tommy.Â
Tommy uses his communicator as a scanner and pretends to ring up the block. Ranboo just seems even more confused.Â
âWhat? This is a store roleplay. Iâm just keeping things realistic.â He pushes the grass block back to Ranboo who takes it and immediately holds it out in front of him. âThe cost is teleporting Tommy to Tubbos because heâs lazy and doesnât want to walk.âÂ
The taller laughs and Tommy climbs over the counter and clings to Ranbooâs arm bracing for the sudden movement. He closes his eyes and stumbles forward a bit when the hybrid brings them to Tubboâs in under a second.Â
He lets go of Ranboo once heâs sure he wonât trip and goes up to Tubboâs door, instead of knocking he just letâs himself in. Rather he announces heâs here by shouting, âBig T! Weâre here for lunch and I brought a very tall man with me. I think his name is Rainbow, not sure though.â
âTommy itâs-â Ranboo is interrupted by Tubbo appearing from the kitchen, the fur coat he is usually buried in abandoned for a cheesy heart covered apron.Â
âRanboo! Tommy!â He runs up to them both with excitement, but he quickly tilts his head at the grass block Ranboo had brought in that was no doubt ruining his floor. Tubbo runs back into the kitchen and orders the boys to, âStay there!â and when he returns he is carrying a planter pot with a little note attached that says, âTo: Ranboo, From: Me :)â
âThis is perfect, you can fill my gift with⌠wait did Tommy really give you fuckin dirt?âÂ
âNo! I gave him a whole store of dirt you dickhead!âÂ
âI liked it.â Ranboo adds, trying to help Tommyâs case.Â
âSee Tubbo? He loves my gift, you are just a hater.âÂ
âWhatever.â Tubbo rolls his eyes and turns around, leading the other two into his kitchen.Â
They take a seat and Tubbo places a basket of bread in the middle of the small wooden table. Tommy runs his hands under it to where he can feel the carvings of his and Tubboâs name. They had built the table together, hell they had built most of the furniture in this house together.
Tubbo sits down next to Ranboo and places a jar of honey, no doubt from his own bees on the table.
âYou know we should invite Purpled next time, then we can call it the MLC.â
âCall it the what?âÂ
âYâknow the minor lunch club! All the teenagers in one place, hopefully shit-talking the adults.â
âTubbo can you-â Ranboo is interrupted by Tubbo, who was focused on what Tommy just said.
âWe are not naming anything âLunch Clubâ ever, pick another name.â
âWhat? Why not?â He whined.Â
Ranboo reaches over the table to grab the honey, knocking over the vase of flowers in the middle of the table. Tubbo pauses, heâs stood up, preparing to lean over and hit Tommy.Â
âTubbo Iâm so sorry Iâll-Iâll clean it up.â Ranboo starts to go grab a towel when Tubbo tackles him and pretends to be mad. Tommy just sighs at the scene and goes to actually grab a towel before the water could ruin the table.Â
âItâs valentineâs day and youâre fighting.âÂ
âItâs play fighting, it's a hybrid thing you wouldnât get it.âÂ
Tubbo knew what he was doing, get Tommy mad so heâll come over there and join them too.Â
It works, Tubbo giggling as Tommy pushes him off Ranboo and shakes him gently.Â
Tubbo headbutts him gently, careful not to actually hurt him. (It had happened once, Philza was not happy.)Â
Tommy wraps his arms around the deer and refuses to stop hugging him, Ranboo takes the opportunity to get up and actually wipe down the table before going back to where Tommy was sitting against the door laughing holding a faux annoyed Tubbo.Â
âLet me go Tommyyyy.â Tubbo whines, itâs muffled by the blondâs shirt.Â
âNo, you were mean to me and now Iâm sad.âÂ
Ranboo sits down next to them and whispers âClingyinnit.â causing Tubbo to laugh and Tommy to let him go opting to go mess with the enderman instead.Â
âI am not clingy!âÂ
âHe says, as he clings to Ranboo. His newest victim.âÂ
They finally get up, dusting themselves off, and go to exchange the rest of their gifts. Tubbo giving Tommy earrings with two purple disks on them. Tommy hands him the bee necklace and then Ranboo gives both of them a pig spawner.Â
They go out and help Sam with the hotel for the rest of the day and when itâs dark outside they say their goodbyes and promise to come back tomorrow to see Tubboâs new âprojectâ which the two no doubt means more nukes.Â
Itâs almost midnight by the time Tommy works up the courage to give Sam his gift. Walking up to his bedroom door and knocking gently. Fiddling with the letter he had made. He had no reason to be nervous, it was just a card to thank Sam for everything. He owed the man so much more.Â
He had avoided giving Sam the card all day, but there was no turning back now. He supposes he could just run back to his room, pretend to be asleep when Sam goes to ask if he knocked.Â
âTommy?â Sam opens the door, yawning. Tommy had clearly woken him up.
He shoves the card towards the creeper hybrid and looks away as he reads it.Â
Tommy can tell when heâs done because Sam murmurs an âOh, TommyâŚâ before going to hug the blond. Who happily accepts it.Â
âYour gift idea wasnât shit, he loved it actually.â
âI know, I never have bad ideas.â Tommy can imagine the grin on Samâs face as he says that and itâs enough to make him laugh softly. For the first time in a long time, Tommy finally takes a deep breath. Holding onto Sam a little tighter than maybe he should. Tommyâs tired of letting go.Â

-----------------------------------------
Schlatt wakes up to a pounding headache and a very unimpressed Quackity standing over him in the doorway.Â
âSchlatt.â Quackity turns off the light after seeing the other flinch at his voice. Theyâve done this before, the whole waking up hungover Schlatt thing wasnât new to either of them.Â
âYeah?âÂ
âWhy the hell are you on the bathroom floor?âÂ
He rolls his eyes and gets up with minimal struggle. Brushing past Quackity to his room. âWouldnât you like to know.â He knows heâs succeeded in deflecting the question when Quackity just laughs and drops it.Â
After he takes the painkillers by his bed and chugs the cup of water, he turns around and goes to the kitchen where Quackity is already pulling out the ingredients for pancakes.
Schlatt sits at the table, laying his head down and trying to block out the light. He swears heâll never drink again but he knows itâs a lie.Â
âSo what was up with that phone call last night? Were you just really drunk or did you seriously knock someone up?âÂ
âNo it was serious, heâs two and in foster care.âÂ
âDamn someone hid a kid from you for two years? Iâm impressed they didnât say anything.âÂ
He moves his arms away from his face and watches as Quackity dramatically flips one of the pancakes as high as he can. Cheering when it lands back in the pan.Â
âHoly fuck did you see that? I am so cool.â He looks away from the stove to smile at Schlatt, who tries to smile back but the headache makes it difficult.Â
âItâd be really cool of you to come to the store with me and help me buy baby shit.âÂ
âBreakfast first, dad shit second.âÂ
Quackity puts a plate down in front of him minutes later. Sitting down across from him and drenching his stack in syrup before sliding the bottle over to Schlatt.Â
âThatâs so gross.âÂ
âYouâre fuckinâ gross.â Quackity laughs through a mouth full of pancakes.Â
Schlatt takes a few bites of his after putting on a much more reasonable amount of syrup. Heâs not very hungry after last night.Â
So he leaves Quackity to finish his plate and goes to get ready. Grabbing his wallet and putting on his shoes, before waiting on Quackity to join him by the front door.Â
Schlatt doesnât have a car since he doesnât really need one, all his friends were in walking distance and his part-time job was only a block away. Itâs times like this he wishes he did however, because Quackity was a terrible driver. He often wonders if that's why the younger one was studying to be a lawyer, to get himself out of traffic court.Â
After a car ride that only makes his headache worse, Quackity parks in front of a Target and turns off the engine.Â
They go to the baby section and Quackity immediately starts looking at all the clothes. Leaving Schlatt to grab the more important things.Â
He gets two sippy cups, and a pack of pacifiers. Did two year olds need pacifiers? Couldnât hurt he supposes as he tosses the duck themed ones in the cart. He picks out anything with ducks on it, knowing it would make Quackity happy.
Sure enough, the duck does the same. Coming back with duck covered baby towels and little overalls with a duck on the front pocket.Â
âItâs necessary that a toddler has duck clothes, trust me on this one Schlatt.âÂ
âThe overalls are really cute, but I donât think thatâs true.â Quackity puts the outfits in the cart and runs off again to get who knows what. The sizes range slightly because theyâve never seen Tubbo which means Schlatt is sure heâll be back to return some of this. He hopes he doesnât have to return it all.
He picks a crib that matches the dark wood of his own bed and dresser. Before going to look for some small sheets and blankets. It got cold in his New York apartment.Â
Quackity brings back a few more outfits and some toys that didnât seem too noisy. Schlatt grabs a minecraft bee on their way to the front of the store as a welcoming gift for the kid.
âOh god itâs gonna look so bad if I have to return all of this.âÂ
âRelax man if we build that whole ass crib theyâre gonna hand you the kid immediately. What other qualifications could you possibly need?âÂ
Schlatt scoffs and pushes him gently, keeping one hand on the cart as they wait in line. âIâm pretty sure thereâs more to toddlers than sleeping, like eating and⌠shit.âÂ
âWhatever smartass, help me put all this on the conveyor.âÂ
They do just that, leaving the box with the unassembled crib in the cart, no way were either of them picking that up. Schlatt pays and they load it all into Quackityâs car with minimal argument.Â
The two manage to bring it all into Schlattâs apartment with two trips, Quackity is put incharge of the toys and Schlatt is in the open kitchen washing out the new utensils.Â
Once heâs finished with the last sippy cup he goes to take the box with the crib into the extra bedroom but is stopped by Quackity putting a hand on the box.Â
âNope, thatâs my room now. The crib goes in yours.âÂ
âQuack you donât live here dumbass.â He sighs, dragging a hand down his face.Â
âIâm moving in, Iâve decided.â Quackity starts pushing the box across the hall to Schlattâs room.Â
âWhereâs my say in this?âÂ
âYou gonna say no?â Quackity looks back at him with the most smug face ever, as if he knows exactly what Schlatt will say. He always does.Â
âI donât think Iâve ever said no to you actually. Even though that usually ends badly for both of us.âÂ
The ram rolls his eyes and Quackity makes a tsk sound with his tongue, Schlatt running ahead of him to try and clean up his room before they put more in it.Â
Neither of them were great builders, their minecraft bases could attest to that. So after several youtube videos they finally manage a base.Â
âCanât you call, a- a crib builder or something?â Quackity sighs and lays down, making a big show of dropping the screwdriver in his hand.Â
âDo you want a drink? We only have the rails left and that seems simple enough.â He gets up with a grunt, flinching when his knee pops.Â
âDo you have caprisuns?â The duck pops back into a sitting position at the promise of a drink.Â
âIf you didnât finish them last weekend then yeah.â He leaves Quackity and pads out to the kitchen, grabbing alcohol for himself and a caprisun for Quackity. Their drink choices were one of the several things that made them so different. If they could refrain from arguing in front of Tubbo, their differences might make him a balance of the two.Â
Schlatt hoped the kid would catch on to their good traits. Though sparse, Schlatt and Quackity had at least a few the toddler could copy.Â
Do toddlers even copy people?
He tosses Quackity the caprisun and sits down, trying not to spit out his drink when Quackity punches the air because the flavor is his favorite.Â
They manage to finish the crib after another hour and two drinks later, well, Schlatt does. Quackity passes out on Schlattâs bed 30 minutes in.Â
So he pushes the crib against the wall across from his bed and flops down next to Quackity, causing the younger to startle awake and hit Schlatt on the chest.Â
âWhat- Oh, youâre done?âÂ
âYeah, no thanks to you.â He teases.Â
âOh fuck off! I need extra sleep so I can pass law school.âÂ
They laugh and Quackity lays back on the bed, shoulders pushing against Schlatt.Â
âThanks.â He blurts out, and immediately cringes at how genuine he sounds.Â
âFor what?â Quackity moves to lie on his side, facing Schlatt.Â
âWhat do you mean âFor what?â For helping me with this baby shit!â
âThe baby should be the one to thank me for not letting you kill him somehow.âÂ
Schlatt scoffs and pushes him off the bed, Quackity letting out a surprised yell as he falls on the small space between the bed and the crib. Schlattâs room really wasnât made for two.Â
âGoodnight Q, donât let the bedbugs bite.âÂ
âYou have bedbugs?âÂ
âItâs just a say- just go to your room, we have to be up too early for me to deal with this.â Seriously why did the email say the social worker would be here at 7am? He was lucky Quackity didnât have class tomorrow.Â
He hopes they pass the inspection, they did not just build that crib for nothing.

Whereâd The Hours go? - DadSchlatt College Au Chapter 1
Read it on ao3 hereÂ
âSir, a toddler is a lot to take on. Not to mention heâs going to need even more care to help him recover from two years in a bad home. You should consider taking a day to think it over.â
âHeâs my kid, just tell me what to do or sign. Please.â The back of his head collides with the wall and he closes his eyes. He has to at least try.
---------------------
Or; Schlatt finds out he has a two year old son, and Quackity is about to win friend of the year.
Schlatt had always been a bit of a mess. He went to messy parties with even messier people. Specifically the group he filmed videos with, the self-appointed âLunch-Club.â He didnât mind being a mess, not knowing what he did the night before, waking up in someone elseâs room, he never really cared.
So here he is for what feels like the hundredth time, drunk and strung across his friend Charlieâs weird tree pillow. Laughing harder than he should at another one of Charlieâs bad puns.
Theyâre playing a game of jackbox and Schlatt can no longer keep the words in focus long enough to read. He ends up just typing in something random and lying down.
His turn comes around and everyone shoots him a concerned look when they see his submission. Ted nudges his shoulder.
âSchlatt what the hell does SRHBF even mean?â
âFigure it out Ted, I shouldnât have to give you all the answers.â He pauses to think and everyone stifles a laugh but waits patiently to hear what else Schlatt is gonna say. âYouâre smart, not smarter than me⌠but smart.â
âSmart enough to know Stal is a good music disc.â
âYou take that back.â He goes to get up, his hand sliding across the floor. Itâs harder to stand than it should be.
âOr what?â Ted gets up and crosses his arms, standing over Schlatt whoâs still kneeling on the floor.
âI-Iâll fight you.â He reaches his arm out to try and push himself off the floor and sighs when he canât do it. âLater. Is it always hard to stand? How are you doing it so easy? Is it the glass?â He reaches his hand up and grabs Tedâs glasses.
Charlie gets up off the couch next and takes Tedâs glasses from Schlatt. âAlright grandpa letâs get you to bed.â
Charlie helps Schlatt stand up and Ted puts his glasses back on and grabs his other arm.
âIâm not that old, I can-â He jerks his arm out of Charlieâs grasp. âI can walk.â
The shorter throws up his arms in mock defense and rolls his eyes, but stays close incase Schlatt does fall.
He manages to stay upright the whole two block walk to his apartment. Though he leans heavily on Ted.
Heâs laughing at the way his breath clouds in the cold but stops when they start dragging him up the stairs. Schlatt hates living on the fourth story.
He loses his grip on the rail. âCharlie, Charles slow down I canât- oh fuck.â He falls up the stairs.
Charlie realizes Schlatt is no longer behind him and hurries back to him, Ted just laughs from the top of the staircase. Doubled over while Schlatt glares at him.
âI hope you remember all this in the morning.â
He gets up with the help of Charlie and the rail before stumbling past Ted to shakily grab his keys out of his pocket to unlock the apartment door. Practically falling against it as it swung open.
He breathes out a sigh of relief, happy to finally be home. Smiling, he turns to the pair. âSame thing tomorrow night? Iâll bring⌠something, probably.â
âYou wonât ever want to do that again when you feel the migraine from it tomorrow.â Ted laughs.
âBull. Shit.â
Ted closes his door for him and Charlie hurriedly tells him to âPut a painkiller and some water by your bed! Sober you will be grateful!â
His friends can be a lot, but sometimes they give good advice. Itâs usually a good idea to take Charlieâs advice, so he opens the cabinet for a cup.
He opens the fridge and pulls out the container of filtered water and, with minimal spill, pours himself a glass.
He wants to turn off the kitchen lights but with the way the wall was moving he wasnât sure he should bother. Instead just opting to go to bed, throwing his jeans and shirt on the floor and practically falling on the twin bed he had stowed in the corner.
He finally gets comfortable when his phone rings from his jean pocket on the floor. Assuming it's just a spam call or Quackity wanting to do a late night stream, he leaves it to ring.
The problem is once the ringing finally stops, it starts again. Whoever this was must really need him.
So he gets up reluctantly and uncovers his phone from the pile on the floor. Answering it without even checking the ID. Which is never a good decision. âMmâ hello?â
âHi, this is the department of social services calling. Is this Mr. J. Schlatt?â
âYeah thatâs- uh me.â He drags his hand down his face in embarrassment. He really wasnât in a good place to have a professional call right now.
âIâm sorry to call this late but we have custody of your toddler son, Tubbo Miller.â
âYou got the wrong number, I donât have any kids.â He sits on the edge of his bed, feeling nauseous.
âItâs your name in his files, and this is the number the mother gave us for you. Iâm sorry if this is a bit of a shock but we need you to make a decision. Tubboâs mother, Amy Miller can no longer maintain custody of the child due to severe negligence.â
He hasnât heard from Amy in years. Not since they woke up in the same bed. Schlatt mumbles out a quick, âHold on.â before going to vomit everything that could have possibly been in his stomach. Thankful the phone had a mute button.
Heâs coughing and wiping his mouth with a washcloth when he unmutes himself. Choosing to stay on the cold bathroom floor for the rest of the phone call. And maybe the night. âI- I yeah we- heâs my kid. I just didnât know he was⌠born?â
âThen this is probably quite a shock to you.â
âProbably?â
âLet me tell you your options; we can put him in the system, until someone can adopt him. Or I can come over and we can discuss you getting custody. Neither of these choices make you a bad parent, and you donât have to decide right now-â
âAre you fuckinâ kidding? Iâm his, heâs my boy. I want custody, just tell me what I need to do.â He feels rude for interrupting her, since she sounds so nice over the phone.
âSir, a toddler is a lot to take on. Not to mention heâs going to need even more care to help him recover from two years in a bad home. You should consider taking a day to think it over.â
âHeâs my kid, just tell me what to do or sign. Please.â The back of his head collides with the wall and he closes his eyes. He has to at least try.
âIâll come over in two days for a house inspection then. Iâd advise you get supplies and start baby proofing the house till then. And donât worry, most people in your situation do end up with custodyâ
âI can do that. Thanks.â
He can hear sniffling in the background, the ladyâs voice getting further away as she shushes what Schlatt can only assume is Tubbo gently.
âIâll send you a text confirming everything in the morning. Get some rest while you can, toddlers wonât let you.â
He laughs weakly, trying not to throw up again as he hangs up the phone and goes through his contacts to call Quackity. Though the younger played a loud and chaotic persona, he gave surprisingly good advice. And thatâs what Schlatt needed right now.
Thankfully he isnât streaming when he answers, as Schlatt doesnât need the whole world knowing he has a kid when he hasnât had time to process it himself.
âWhat type of shit do babies need?â
Thereâs a pause on the other side of the line, Schlatt holds the phone far away from him and waits.
âWHAT?â Quackity shouts, his voice breaking up through the phone.
âApparently Iâm a fuckinâ dad now, what type of shit do babies need?â He knows he should elaborate more but he's exhausted at this point.
âItâs way too late for this. Iâll be there in the morning, and you better explain yourself, Schlatt.â
âLet yourself in, keys are under the mat.â
âSpare no detail, I gotta know exactly how big Schlatt has a little kid.â
With that Schlatt laughs and hangs up without saying goodbye. Quackity never cared if he hung up abruptly.
He passes out on the bathroom floor, not even bothering to turn off the light.
