if i posted my rusame ramblings to tumblr would anyone gaf or read them… i’ve got a LOT of stuff like character analysis, original au rants, or scenario/headcanon ramblings.

SOMETIMES i post them on twitter but no one on twitter rlly reads rambling threads 😭 idk ill post an example here… here’s one i just wrote about touch starvation rusame (this is like, to an egregiously obvious extent a projection, but it works well enough i think lol)

touch starved alfred being extremely lonely and deprived of genuine affection (but too prideful to ask for it) so he resorts to desperately and pathetically begging ivan for it non-verbally; he’ll rub his head on his shoulder like a cat, or stand uncomfortably close to the point russia has to put an arm around him to be comfortable, stuff like that.

i think ivan would really love it too— he’s even more touch starved than alfred is, and everyone except for america is scared of him. to see someone so willingly and desperately seek him out makes his heart melt and it makes him feel so happy. i think he’d get some cuteness agression or intense happiness and like, smush alfred in a bone crushing hug. and alfred would love it so so much because it’s exactly what he needs. ˙ᵕ˙ their need for affection and subsequent joy at getting it is so extreme that they fuel each other into oblivion… the same kind of mutual feeding the flame that caused the cold war😭 they’re the most extreme in the world, they’re crazy… but perfect for each other…

i also think it would be important to alfred that ivan wants to be affectionate w him just as much as alfred wants that affection— hence part of why he doesn’t want to ask for it. it would be great, but not enough, if ivan just did it because alfred asked him to. he wants ivan to truly want to do those things. he constantly has the world bowing down to him and glazing him, giving him handshakes and stuff, but none of that is genuine. it’s all to get something out of him or gain his favor, not genuine affection and wanting to be around him. to alfred, it hurts more than if people just didn’t talk to him at all.

a little off topic quick, but i think alfred and ivan’s different kinds of isolation provide an interesting conflict in their relationship. alfred might feel like being left alone hurts less than being constantly surrounded but never loved, whilst ivan would be outraged by that sentiment due to the isolation he’s been left in for his whole life. ugh rusame and how polar opposite they are yet they’re also exactly the same.. so much in common yet so little trust…

but anyways, i think that’s also why his begging for affection is baiting ivan into giving it rather than alfred always forcing it on him like he does with other people. for example with kiku, he forces physical affection and proximity on him (wrapping his arm around his shoulders, shaking him, etc) because he knows kiku would never give it himself, because he doesn’t want to. but alfred wants ivan to want to do it. he wants him to make the first real move so that he knows ivan isn’t just doing it because he has no choice. (don’t get me wrong, i think alfred totally ‘forces’ physical affection on ivan in the same way a lot, but here im referring to when he’s starved for genuine affection. when he really needs genuine physical affection, it’s the one time he won’t force it on someone, because he wants them to do it.)

Happy 20 Years of Hetalia!! (NEW HETALIA RESOURCES)

As promised, we have officially completed the uploading of Axis Powers Volumes 1-6 on our KOH website! (Volumes 1-5 are also now fully available here on our Tumblr.)

On top of that, we are officially posting our Hetalia Search List Sheets for BOTH the anime and the manga! The “Manga” Search List not only includes every chapter of every official volume, BUT ALSO the WebComic, illustrations, and other blog comics Hima has sprinkled over these 20 years!

With these sheets, you can search for every episode and chapter with new and improved search bars for characters and a variety of other tags. Both include links with every episode and chapter to where you can easily watch and read Hetalia, including our Google Photos albums of Hetalia (with active comment sections!), and @austriasmole ’s lovely organized Google Drive, both dub and sub. Our Manga Search List also includes a “!nonadapted” tag for content never put in the anime or official volumes, for those interested in skipping over what they’ve already seen in the anime. (Tags for webcontent and illustrations are a bit messy and incomplete, though we are nearly done and will keep looking for other webcontent we may have missed. If there are any tags missing in the meantime, please let us know!)

That said, it is important to remind that the original old works of Hetalia did include a range of problematic and offensive content. For those unaware, this included overt depictions of sexual assault and abuse. While we do not condone these works and depictions, we have kept most links to these works for archival purposes (with CW listed), with rare exceptions. We could not in good conscience keep in any links for content that contained inappropriate content involving children, and they have been removed from this list, though they were not many. We apologize to anyone with genuine good reason to look for these; they are still available on Hetarchive.

As you may have noticed, our Manga Sheet includes a “~Youth Friendly” feature that will remove content not suitable for those under the age of 16, and also includes a few links to censored down versions so you can enjoy the main story of some chapters or chapters without overly inappropriate content. That said, Hetalia in general is not suitable for young children. Even with “Youth Friendly” checked, there will remain elements not suitable for children 10 years and younger. In time, we hope to make available more censored down content.

To the last of our announcement, Admin Kei has realized that the Album for the Sub of Axis Powers was never officially made public. It is available now here and linked in both the original Google Doc listing these seasons, and our KOH Website, now updated to include the links there as well.

Shoutout to Alfred for being a character that encompasses the cruelty of his father and that of his own making, being the villain in so many history books, yet somehow has kindness and compassion and the genuine want to do what’s right.

Because once upon a time he fought for something that was fragile and was told didn’t belong to him, yet won it anyway. And fragile it is. But even cracked and dulled, he refuses to let it be pried from his hands.

And there’s still people who believe in him somehow, because if there’s someone who can still make a change it’s the loudmouthed, upstart brat who did so many things wrong, yet still got some things right. Who still has dreams that should have been trampled long ago, yet still has hope for a better tomorrow.

Keep your chin up, kid. Hopefully one day you’ll finally make that difference that no one has before you. Don’t give up just yet. There’s still time.

Im so obsessed with Matthew who's convinced that Alfred is the favorite son. Arthur's attention is always on Alfred, he never forgets Alfred exists, never pretends hes not in the room, never leaves him behind when they go somewhere. And Alfred who's convinced that Matthew is the favorite, because even though Arthur forgets about him half the time when he doesn't hes kind and gentle. He gives Matthew the love and care that Alfred wishes he had. He never yells at Matthew, never criticizes him, never makes up reasons to be mad.
