I don’t think the neutral face has the best likeness but I couldn’t figure out what to fix. Probably because she’s never been neutral a day in her life

Besides Pearl’s nose, this may have the worse anatomy, but I wouldn’t compromise on the features so I did the best I could. I’d love to try again with a line-less style.

I wish I put her hair on a separate layer because I couldn’t add enough shading under her locs like I wanted. They feel a little stiff to me. Also ignore the little bits of Pearl at the top. Her and Bismuth did not want to stay in their boxes

Pearls canon nose is infuriating and is NOT anatomically correct. So we can ignore that.

Some of the Amethyst are repeats for spacing sake. I did two types of hair and a gem+no gem version.

Same with Ruby, the original way I rendered her hair got deleted and the second run is never as good

I REALLY love how sweet Sapphire looks. Inspired by how she looks at Ruby. Also pleased with how the long bang turned out. Also gave her a version with one eye and one with one eye no nose

Watched Steven Universe for the first time a month ago (because it’s my brother’s favorite show) and got inspired to do some art.

These are probably the 15th-25th portraits I’ve ever done so overall I’m pleased.

Mix of old designs+new, human/hard sci-fi/canon. A neutral pose and one emotion/expression. All except Ruby and Sapphire were based on a screenshot. Tried not to repeat an exact expression twice.
