Random thought, but something I realized quite recently while thinking about Black and White is how Ingo and Emmetâs personalities seem to relate to the ideologies of Zekrom and Reshiram, respectively.
The white dragon Reshiram represents truth, tradition and the realist mindset. Itâs about recognizing how things really are, whether you like it or not. This goes well with Emmet, who besides dressing in white, speaks very matter-of-factly. His words are blunt and to the point. He says exactly what he thinks not as an opinion, but as fact.
On the contrary, the black dragon Zekrom represents ideals, emotion and free-thinking. Itâs about expressing how you feel things should be and appeals to the more emotional side of humanity. This goes really well with Ingo, who is definitely more in-tune with his feelings and is not afraid to cheer you on and yell his excitement for all to hear (cue his âBRAVOâ from masters). He also dresses all in black, the perfect counterpart to Emmet.
Anyways, I always knew that Ingo and Emmet were dressed this way because of the Black and White duality theme of Gen 5, but it wasnât until recently I realized their personalities also seem to match the dragons their colors represent as well. Pretty cool stuff, Game Freak :)
