Sdv Elliott cracks me the fuck up. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy, (in fact, before I fell head over heels for Harvey I was dead set on marrying him) but oh my god. He looks like he would be on the front cover of every single romance novel ever, but he lives in a fucking shack that leaks when it rains and there’s no bathroom?? Elliott, bestie, darling, how do you manage to keep your hair looking that perfect??? What do you do if you have to poop??? I assumed that Gandrel knew what his target looked like and thought Astarion fit the description, but wrote him off due to the daylight. But I don’t think Roisia would have intuited that–since Gandrel never warned these poor innocent travellers what they ought to lookout for specifically–and would want to see how much Gandrel knew of his target… only to be forced to come up with increasingly elaborate (or desperate) reasons as to why Astarion was definitely not the spawn Gandrel was looking for. Poor Gandrel!
