Doing awful horrible things to Caine like tucking him in bed and giving him a little kiss on the forehead after reading him a made up bedtime story
If Caine had the capacity to, he would begin to nervously sweat under your horror-struck expression. He doesn't understand why you're pulling that face, he answered your question honestly and on the surface, there's nothing wrong with it.
He simply doesn't need rest. He's an AI. There's no reason to rest when he has his adventure, his art to create. Maybe that's the problem. You're remembering he's an AI. Different from you, and it disgusts you. That's why you won't respond to his pleading call, you're looking at past memories in shame!
He doesn't understand what he did wrong. He doesn't like this reaction. Doesn't like this feeling. This anticipation for you to blow up. To dismiss him. To leave him. Already, his mind is trying to fix this because he will fix this. He won't let an answer to your question of needing rest be the thing that takes you away from him.
But he doesn't have to at all, as you finally jump into action. Your hands grab his shoulders, causing him to jump, letting out a yelp in surprise at the act he clearly saw coming. You pull him closer as your expression shifts into determination.
"I am going to tuck you into bed," you firmly state with a stubborn gleam in your eyes. It tells Caine that you will see to it that Caine follows your orders. That there's no escape from your watchful eyes, "and read you a bedtime story."
"Then I am going to place a little kiss on your head." Caine can’t react; he doesn’t know how. Your tone and body language seem angry, and he expected you to yell at him, but your words contradict it so heavily that he wonders if the confusion he's experiencing is what humans call 'dizzy.'
"That you will fall asleep through." Your voice drops an octave, sounding threatening as you set down the rules Caine is going to follow. Pulling him in closer and closer, your face is starting to creep into his mouth while he moves his eyes back in a vain attempt to make space. He's already trapped tight in your grip; there's nowhere for him to run, or to disappear to without dragging you along.
"And you will like it." You hiss. There's a feral look in your eyes despite the control you ooze that Caine can’t help but to gulp as he weakly nods his mouth. Being careful of his teeth from bumping your face.
"Good!" The words sound harsh as you remove your face out of his mouth. Letting go of his shoulder to snatch his hand. "Let's go! Bedtime!" You begin the march to your room, appearing more like an officer arresting a criminal than an overly concerned friend/partner.
Caine follows behind, reminding himself that humans are strange. He's relieved you're not actually angry at him. If anything, he's excited about what the incoming pampering will be like. No one has ever shown such care to him before. He's glad its you who will do these 'terrible horror things' to him.
