All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt for saying no.
read it again and again
Understand that this applies even to non-sexual situations. Women are more likely to be asked for favors from coworkers. Regular “can you file this for me” / “can you cover my shift” / “can you finish up this paperwork” workplace favors. Men are less likely to return those favors. Women are more likely to be seen as “difficult to work with” if they refuse to do favors when requested. Being viewed as ungenerous has negative social and professional consequences.
So yes, even gay men benefit. All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt, not just physically, but also socially and professionally, for saying no to anything at all.
for @kunhangtual
gay people be like i think this hetero ship has rights because the woman is never treated violently and the man is a well intentioned idiot.
me: haha oh god this is so bad im making so many unsupported claims and pulling all this analysis out of my ass
my prof in the margins: excellent analysis!
me:
when i was in high school i used to write my papers thinking wow i’m just bullshitting all of this. then like a week before my senior year ended after all the grades were set, i was talking to my english teacher and told him you know i just bullshitted every paper i wrote. he told me that while i may have thought i was just pulling it all out of my ass, i genuinely knew what i was talking about and made well-supported analyses. i only thought i was bullshitting because it didn’t take much effort and it all seemed obvious to me. if you do well on your essays even though you think you’re just making it up as you go, chances are you’re not pulling it out of your ass. you’re just a genuinely talented analyst, even if the analysis that you’re making comes from a subconscious understanding of the material rather than a conscious effort to study it. give yourself some credit.
anything you pull out of your ass had to get there somehow
Anything you pull out of your ass had to get there somehow

The theme song of my PhD.
Why must my feelings be "rational"? Is it not enough to sit quietly in my hawaiian shirt, deranged?

Maybe this was common knowledge to some folks but I only learned today that koalas have so little cognitive power, they won’t recognize leaves as food if they’re not on a tree branch. They have almost 0 learning capability or problem solving ability.
For years people thought that you couldn’t keep koalas in captivity because they were just ‘too sensitive’ and ‘meant to be wild’
Then they realized that the koalas literally just couldn’t figure out that leaves in a bowl were food
Apparently the koala’s brain represents only 0.2% of its body weight, the lowest of any mammal. In addition, it occupies only 61% of its already unusually small skull cavity, it’s completely smooth all over and there’s a big hole through the middle where the lobes never connect.
youd be like that too if you ate flammable poison all day
