back with another comic, this time an implied missing scene from the end of chapter 2 given context from chapter 3! i just have a hard time figuring out when else kris could have scared the wits out of their tv like a mob boss lmao

based on various tenna dialogue, including but not limited to:

“….Kris, old buddy old pal! How’s it going! It’s uh, it’s uh, going great, isn’t it!? Everything’s, just hunky doody! Haha… uh, heheh. Where’s your, uh, buddies? Your pals?”

“K…Kris! Kris, I didn’t see you there! I… I did what you said Kris! Ha… Just like our deal! Y-you aren’t going to turn me off again, are you…?”

Susie: “Why the hell so you want us to play so bad anyway!?”

Tenna: “Kris. Kris knows why.”

“And I was told that if I keep you three busy, I can have ALL the people watch me that I want.” (in this comic, tenna conflates what kris actually says/means to what he wants to hear instead)

“Tell 'em Susie! Tell 'em they don't need to throw me away! I'm still marvelous! I'm still mysterious! Toriel oughta know she doesn't NEED a new TV!”

“[Kris]... you want to have fun, too, don't you!? Isn't that a little bit why you..."

"Woah, woah, woah! Sorry, that was out of line, folks! Back to your regularly scheduled programming!"

i didn’t want kris’s dialogue to be too aggressive; i don’t think they actually harbor ill will toward tenna? they just had a short amount of time to get their point across and didn’t want to have to explain their motivations.

i mean, tenna doesn’t even seem to realize that dess went missing years ago, or that asriel is in college now, how could kris spell out their guilt for a disappearance they were possibly involved in that may or may not have ultimately resulted in the breakdown of their parents marriage in that amount of time? and with the SOUL watching? kris is lucky we can’t hear the things they say on a normal day, but who knows how much longer susie and toriel would stay asleep anyways?

definitely believe the theory that the SOUL temporarily leaves Kris whenever we think about what Susie is up to.

in fact, I think that's the first time Kris has prompted us themself (rather than Ralsei, and if you believe non-dialogue game text in parenthesis is Kris's thoughts and feelings) to think about Susie, probably because we could get to her faster to protect her!

whether or not they could follow after us in the pitch dark by some trail only they can see, or they just followed the sound of Susie freaking out, well. who's to say? it's a fun visual regardless

does anyone else think about how noelle doesn’t fully understand kris or the recent distance between them and is probably interpreting kris’s attempts to atone for the player's actions during the weird route as them trying to reconnect, so she corners them alone and uses her new confidence to bridge the gap, all while kris (who cares very deeply about her, always has) watches in horror as the player destroys what little they could do to make it right?

or how that confidence was brought about by the player grooming Noelle toward violence in the dark world, so much so that she has to gaslight herself into creating a false positive association with the Kris of her "dream"?

of how Kris (who may have always held a torch for her, in their own way) can only feel Extremely Conflicted about this??
