It had been a long time since Lacie had first arrived in Arcadios and honestly, she hadn't bothered to count the days that went by. Just a 'long time'. That's what she remembered her time here as. It wasn't anything special, although many interesting things certainly did happen. She had wandered into Polis alone -- it was funny, the first time she came here was for an impromptu shopping trip that a certain Zelos Wilder had taken her on, and they had found her a new, light blue summer dress to replace the big, bulky ceremonial one.Â
It was much lighter with this, since the one before had caused her to sweat a lot -- it was a big, heavy, thick dress after all, and it had been the winter when she wore it -- when she died in it. It was still a wonder how it wasn't torn apart or at least stained with blood, retaining its light purple hue. It was stored away now though, in her little hut in which she was told belonged to her now.
But.. she didn't expect to hear the song her brother had composed, if only a little modified to fit a piano piece.
A part of her dearly wished that it was her dearest brother playing that piece -- it was as if it was calling to her, pulling her in. The woman would follow the sound as she, once having caught onto the part of the tune, started softly singing along the lyrics she had made for it along to go with her brother's song, her voice, her lyrics spilling into the room as she slowly opened the door just a crack.
" Shining, glittering .. âŞ"
She could see the figure of someone seated on a piano bench now, though she couldn't quite make out who it was through the dark lighting of the room. Lacie couldn't be bothered to find the light switch, and really, she didn't find it necessary to turn them on. It was nice like this.
She continued the lyrics without stopping, and although the person playing the tune seemed to have become hesitant at the sound of a voice and words joining them, they continued, as well. It was like both of them were in a trance, both captivated by the century-old song created a hundred years ago, and it really couldn't be anybody else but Oswald who knew this song.. right? It couldn't have been Jack. Even if the male could play the piano expertly well, he wouldn't have come here without Lacie.Â
" My body is cloaked in golden light .. " The song was coming to an end, she could tell with how the music had flowed into a slower pace, each key reverberating around the empty, hollow room. It felt ridiculously lonely in here, with just the two. Like they had opened up an entirely new dimension with just this one song, with no one to disturb it and nothing to ruin it.
" I'm going to meet the Lonely One. "
Only when the song had finished did she take a few more steps forward, approaching the faceless pianist. Each step would echo about the room, and they didn't turn around to face her -- they seemed to be trapped there, stiffened like a statue. Gently, she would place her hand on their shoulder before daintily putting both hands to the sides of his face, moving it to face her own -- and it wasn't who she expected it to be.
" Who-- ? " No, it wasn't Oswald, nor was it Jack. It wasn't anyone that she had ever met or even seen before, and now her surprised expression matched his, hands still placed on both sides of his face. The younger male.. seemed clothed in what a noble would wear, and the aura around him seemed vaguely familiar. Lacie would be the one to voice the question which both of them wanted to know.
